CUTEST shell shop I’ve ever visited haha. After eating a big fat serving of sourdough clam chowder bowl, I had to walk off my calories. I stumbled upon this place and easily spent an hour inside looking at all the different types of shells. I was so tempted to buy every kind so I could make something crafty out of it! The price is very good! Each shell is literally less than $ 0.30. And of course, they have other things that they’ve made from the shells like night lights and jewelry boxes. This place is definitely perfect for people who love beach themes! Plenty of cute decorative pieces for their home!

The most interesting place on the whole block. Wide variety of shells from around the world. Shell gifts/souvenirs too. Prices seem a little high but a fun store to look in. The floor layout is too crampt and when busy it is hard to walk around without bumping into other shoppers.

Hasn’t changed much in over 30+ years. Can remember my parents taking me here as a kid and now I take my daughters. Every type of sea shell imaginable and at very reasonable prices. My fav are the real gold covered sand dollar necklaces in the front case. They make good gifts!

I am sucker for sea shells. If I am at the beach you will see me searching the sand for the perfect shell. While in Morro Bay I gasped when I saw the store. I could not pass up not going inside the store. The store was filled with so many neat items and shells. I got 2 starfishes and a few other pretty seashells, and my boyfriend got a shiny Abalone shell. We paid a reasonable price, which Is good. Not to mention the workers seemed nice. I will definitely return again when I’m in Morro Bay.

This is a wonderful store that is fun, educational, and a great place to shop. I have been there several times on my trips to Morro Bay. Every time I visit The Shell Shop I enjoy myself and leave with a treasure to take back to Florida with me.

A Shell of a good time! The Shell Shop has become quite the Morro Bay icon. Sitting on the Embaracadero for longer than I’ve been on this Earth, this shop has made it’s mark as a «Can’t Miss» local shop. You’ll find shells of every kind; cheap to expensive, ugly to beautiful. Most of their items are local, but many things are from around the world. Need shells made into turtles? How about a doll? They’ve got tchotchke’s galore. Definitely stop in and take a visual tour. There’s some pretty cute Christmas ornaments too.

It’s like a giant bead shop but with shells instead. They have small shells, large shells and a variety of sea related trickets. It’s an innovative artists dream. There are lot of inspiring ideas that can come from this shop.

Shell shocked!!! So many shells from everywhere around the world. The amount of shells in this store seemed like the whole Pacific Ocean just dumped its shells in here. Enjoy it! I know my kids did.

The Shell Shop is unlike any other– literally a must-sea! All of their merchandise is so beautiful and unique, from all over the world. Their individual shells I believe are very affordable too. I absolutely love the shell night-lights, it’s definitely a memorable souvenir. We give them out as Christmas presents because they are just so cool! Everyone who visits town, we always take them by The Shell Shop because it’s part museum and part coastal shopping. It’s truly a gem in Morro Bay!

I walked by thinking it was tourist trap, however I saw a puffer fish I HAD to buy for my teenager’s up coming birthday, it was such a good price! I’m AMAZED at all the shells there were in this store. Amazing! Great for collectors. Great prices too! The owners were in there and said they’d been there for over 60 years. I’ll definitely go back!!! Amazing at how prices drop when you get away from the Bay Area where I’m from.

Would give six stars if I could(maybe more)!!! The shop is filled with unique shell sculptures, necklaces, wind chimes, giant shell bowls, shell chandeliers, and other various house decorations, or just shells in general. Some of the shell sculptures are so beautiful. This placed is listed as $$ but really it should be $. I found my mouth literally dropping as I was looking around because I was in disbelief of how inexpensive everything was!(You could say I was shell shocked) Walked out with four beautiful gifts for ~$ 20 altogether, and a large wall decoration for $ 16. I probably would have spent $ 100+ here if I were going straight home. They packaged everything up for me securely so they would not break on the rest of my trip. A lot of the items are delicate as everything is crafted from shells!

The Dirty Truth: I try to come here every time I’m in the area! It’s perfect for gifts and there’s something for everyone. I usually just get sand dollars or sea stars for gift giving and it’s so great to have a little piece of the beach with you. Everything is well labeled priced so you can just browse. Everything is well categorized too so you just walk up to the bin and start browsing. It’s not very big, but they pack a lot in and if you listened good in school and got a good job with lot’s of money you can get some high end stuff like shark jaws. It’s pretty sweet to have a conversation starter like that, it’s like«Hi, I’m Dirty, I’m a boss, and here’s my expensive shark mouth.» Must visit, and if you’ve been before, go again :) The Stats: Ambiance: Always Crowded and Museumy Service: Good! Cost: Pretty Inexpensive, Great For Souvenirs!

The shell shop has been a staple of the Morro Bay Embarcadero for as long as I have been in the area. — and that is over 40 years —(oh my gosh — it has been that long) Anyway the shell shop has a wide array of raw shells, shells made into this that and the other — I liked the stack of turtles made from various shells — the is coral and necklaces, pearls and more. Be sure to look carefully at the Items in the locked cases, Many are quite unusual, unique or rare. It is a joy to explore, bring the kids, peruse, look around and imagine all the places in the world from whence these have come to use. A fun stop for all.

This shop has been here for a long, long time. My friend came here 40 years ago when he was a kid and said it still looks the same and the price is still reasonable. There’s something truly endearing about this place. The owner is super-friendly and talk about the variety of shells they have here you just wouldn’t believe! In addition, the price is very reasonable and I really mean it. Another shop about 300 meters away which I won’t mention the name sells the exact same shell for double the price. There are seashells from all over the world. Some are truly exotic. My mom picked up a couple of huge sand dollars the size of a large kitchen sponge and she paid about $ 6 each. I mean you can go really wild with what they carry. It all depends on where your imagination take you. You can easily put together a big table-top center piece display with a large glass bowl or vase filled with fine sand and a wide variety of beautiful sea shells and corals without breaking the bank. This place really got me going. I am on a mission here and plan to be back!
