Was looking for some decent butter chicken to pick up and I actually had the foresight to check out reviews for this place beforehand. I ignored the awful recent reviews about pickup orders and I paid the price for it. I showed up 45 mins after placing my order online and received not only a text confirmation, but also an email confirmation. When I showed up and gave them my name, I was told they’d get started on it. ??? They told me it would be 15 – 20 minutes. I had already committed so I opted to wait, but the final straw was when the manager behind the bar called my cell phone(standing 5 feet away from me) to tell me that my online order did not go through. I just turned around, walked right out the door, and went to Two Guys Bar and Grill a few steps away. Best Philly Ive ever had. Seriously, Saffron cannot pull itself together soon enough if the place expects to survive.

We recently had a small party at Saffron and had booked the entire hotel. The service was excellent, the servers and the chef made sure all the guests were attended and served very well. The food was excellent and everyone still talks about the food and deserts at our party. I definitely recommend this place.

In Triangle area we are no short of Indian restaurants now, but when it comes to consistent quality and treating your taste buds, Saffron restaurant is the place to go. One can enjoy wide range of north Indian delicacies along with favorite drinks. Thank you Chef Manohar for excellent food. Manish

From bad to ugly… thought I d give them another try but was I wrong! Ordered a take out and waited for over 45 mins… the restaurant was completely empty at prime time in a Friday… this place used to be so good but I guess owners/management/chef changes everything… I will stick to the new Bistro in Cary

What heck happened to this place? From good it went to OK and now it just simply sucks. The buffet is half empty and the waiter is too busy playing with his phne. Food is looked old and been standing there for a while. Simply aweful. Will not come back.

Best Indian food around! Their vermicelli kheer is surprisingly good. The staff were very friendly, and brought out fresh Naan bread upon request. The chicken tikka masala was good, not too spicy. Plus the table setting was pretty formal. A very fine dining experience all around!

While the food’s edible(and pricey) the service is cavalier and unprofessional — this is definitely not the place to host a client. Also, the restaurant was totally empty despite what should have been a peak dining hour.

Went on a Sat around 730 for dinner for a friend’s birthday. We didn’t leave until almost 10. We were a party of 10. Took 45 mins to get drinks, mostly beer and wine, and thank goodness we ordered food at the same time or we would still be waiting. And there were only two other small tables. The food was good but the service was so bad that it could not be over looked.

I have tried saffron twice. Once for dinner and another one was lunch buffet. I ordered a biryani for dinner and it was decent. I also ordered dahi malai kabab and it was little bland but good. The buffet had good appetizers, chaat item and desert(it was carrot pudding) but the main course wasn’t that great. I liked the service. It was quick. Ambience is good too for dine in. Can be tried once for the sake of appetizers.

I have been to Saffron for their lunch buffet and have yet to try their dinner. Lunch is buffet with a vast vegetarian selection and then dinner is a la carte. Saffron is located at the Davis Drive and McCrimmon intersection by the Harris Teeter and there are a lot of options in this shopping complex. The reason I went was for proximity and also because of the Go Play Save coupon in the book. The lunch buffet is great for all those that work in nearby RTP and I enjoyed my meal. I would give a 3.5 if I could.

This place went down hill majorly from what it once was. I’ve stopped going here because last time I came for the lunch buffet, the food was terrible and I felt sick for the remainder of the day. I won’t return, either on my own or with other people. There are too many other Indian restaurants in the area to risk dealing with bad food again.

Their food is ok, very typical Indian, but their professionalism is below the bar. My husband’s work team ordered from them for lunch, and he got an entrée with two sides, some rice, and naan. The person ordering asked if items were vegan for my husband, which was confirmed. He was very excited, and raved about the food. Fast forward to a week later, my husband and I order lunch over the phone, so we ordered the same thing he ate the previous week, so I could experience the awesomeness that was his meal the week before. I distinctly ordered the entrée with the other two items as sides, and asked if the naan had butter on it. At the time, I thought it was fine. Yes, the person taking the order was difficult to understand at times, but the words«ok» and«yes» were spoken, so I thought everything was understood. I also asked if the naan had butter on it, which I was told no to. At least, at the time I thought that was a no. She did not confirm the price, which I didn’t think anything of. I go to pick up the order. Inside, there is no one to greet me for a full two minutes, then a woman came over, looked me up and down, and when I said I was there to pick something up, she said they were still working on it, and to have a seat. Then I waited. And waited. At least 10 minutes longer than what time I was told it would be ready. This strikes me as odd because I would assume they would just take the items from the buffet and box them up. Then my order came out. Three SEPARATE full entrees. Also, when we got home, we discovered bits of what must be paneer, and the flavor is very creamy, so I think these were not at all vegan. The naan also had ghee on it. My advice to management: Have someone answer the phone who doesn’t just say«yes» when they don’t actually understand something. Have them confirm the price. And at lunch time, have them confirm if they want it from the lunch menu, or the full entrée menu. Inside, your greeter should be… nice, and timely. I don’t really care so much that the service was slow, but that’s something you could also work on. However, after all this confusion, and losing my vegan powers, and spending too much money, I don’t think my family will be back. And I don’t think my husband will agree to eat there with his work group anymore, considering none of the food either time was likely vegan. There are other Indian places to try. After we go through weeks of these expensive leftovers.

The food used to be much better. This time the food was very low quality, small portion and the service was not good at all. especially that they play a game about their wifi! They pretend to give you password but it doesn’t work and they recommend using the wifi from the next door place! Will never go back!

I have been here 3 times for the lunch buffet and have not been impressed. Service isn’t anything memorable. the food isn’t good. The fried things were cold and hard. Dessert was the only decent thing and I ate 2 servings of it to makeup for the lack of good food and left hungry. No samosas, nothing spinach based, only one dessert, no rice pudding, no honey cheese dessert balls. They were missing a lot of the things I expect to see on an Indian buffet. Food wasn’t hot. Just bla.

Came here for the lunch buffet on the weekend. I love me some Indian Buffets and this may be the best one I have had! Buffet was somewhat smaller than some, which was good because each individual item was great(I recommend the mango pudding — usually I can’t stand the over-sweet version of this, but theirs was sort of coconutty and delicious). Also nice décor inside and outside seating. Chai/sweet tea/naan included. Buffet on weekend is a few dollars more expensive than during the week. We will be back!

Hands down the best Indian food in the triangle. This is the only place that actually makes things truly spicy. The servers are always very friendly, efficient and helpful. My husband and I had visited saffron multiple times over the past couple of years and the food and service never disappoint. The samosas are a particularly good appetizer. The breads are great as well, especially the jalapeño naan which is our favorite. I highly recommend Saffron– even if coming from Durham or chapel hill it’s worth the extra drive.

Sunday lunch buffet was not good. Adore Indian food but this food tasted gross and variety is lacking. Attentive service and atmosphere are good. We will never return. Cannot figure out who voted this place as a «Best of …»

One day I will learn. My wife said let’s give Saffron another chance and I was having a particularly good weekend so I said sure; restaurants change and this must too. Right? right? wrong. It may sound impossible, but the service has actually gotten worse. On the plus side it is as comically incompetent as ever. Placed an order for takeout(because of young kids who sleep early). Got there 10 mins *after* they said it would be ready. Chef came out and said we do not have your order. About the time that my face started to turn red, he announced«wait! we found the order! The waiter probably forgot to punch it in and we will start making it now». You can only laugh at things like this. Actually not just laugh, you can also keep giving this restaurant the 1 star it so richly deserves. The chef, I am sure, meant well and made things as fast as he could. But it is pretty inexplicable for the restaurant to not fix their service issues and keep the same staff employed. I again blame the owner for likely cutting corners by not hiring quality staff. 1 star again.

We came here for lunch. The food was sub-par. I’ve had better Indian food at small town restaurants! But that wasnt even the biggest problem. I had to get up several times to ask for bread, get a refill on my water and ask for spoons. This was repeated by several people on my table. I’d recommend you spend your hard earned money else where.
