Hillside Grill is a nice quiet restaurant that sits back off the main Highway. They have inside and outside dining the waiters are very a tentative and prompt. We had a nice Garden salad my wife had prime rib which was just OK alittle tough she said and I had the broiled grouper which was good with a nice sauce and capers and very large portion. We both had the cheesecake for dessert which was nice and fluffy. This was our first time eating there which we didn’t even know it was there it’s hidden off the highway. We might give it another try another time just to see if the prime rib is a little better.

Full bar and a warm greeting with each visit! Absolutely delicious chicken parm that’s great both hot here and in a sandwich cold the next day. She crab soup daily and always amazing prime rib, steaks and seafood! Bison burger is a super choice and with an egg over easy… YES!

We have eaten at Hillside Grill 3 times in the past 8 days. The first meal was Easter and the buffet had a great selection of vegetable, starch and protein options. They also had a salad bar and dessert bar. We sampled the prime rib, chicken Florentine, garlic potatoes, sautéed vegetables and many items from the salad bar. They also offered a fish entrée, spiral ham, roasted corn, mac and cheese and a great dessert selection, we did not try any of those items. Prime rib was spectacular! The vegetables were done perfectly and in a chafing dish that isn’t always easy to pull off. Often at a buffet you get subpar service, but Aubrey took great care of us and had the right level of attentiveness. We returned to try the appetizer specials and share a chicken parm a few days later. We ate in the bar(cannot get the 3−7p specials unless seated there) and pleasantly surprised by the number of fellow diners there for a drink and a nosh. We tried the fried pickles and meatball appetizers. The pickles were super – but only order if you have a crowd, there was easily enough to share with 6 people, maybe more! Three large meatballs with marinara and mozzarella came as the appetizer serving. We shared one there, took the others home and even reheated they were very delicious! The chicken parm came on linguine that had been done to al dente perfection and a light tomato sauce with plenty of tomato pieces. I would have liked some fresh grated parm on the side. Last night we chose the 2 for 25 special and my husband elected again for the chicken parm and I ordered chicken martini without the pasta. WOW. I will be ordering mine again – the dish was perfection from start to finish. The chicken breast was moist and flavorful. The sauce of mushroom, spinach, tomato and a hint of lemon was fantastic! Service was very attentive without the hover factor. One day we will try the desserts – but the huge portions result in a to go box for lunch the next day as it is… no room for the sweet stuff, but those we see go by look delish!

I came to this place for dinner while visiting town for business, which is up the hill and have magnificent view to the forest and mountains. The food is O.K., and maybe better than most of its neighbor, cost-effective as well. However, the service could be better. Anyway, this restaurant deserves a check if you are visiting.

I’ve eaten here maybe six times in twelve months, most during my year living in the community. It has the distinction of atmosphere plus alcohol – no other restaurant nearby has both. What it achieves in food quality(about as good as you can expect within 50 miles) it loses in service, which is almost uniformly poor, but not quite horrible. Where do they find these waitresses and bartenders, who know next to nothing about dishes or drinks?

Staff seem disengaged and unfamiliar with the menu. Food was pretty good; you will not find too many options in Morristown. Piccata was smothered in capers; who wants 100 capers on a small slice of veal? They do have outdoor, covered seating which is great. But they have not cleaned out the planters, which have cigarette butts in them. Some tables have planters within inches of their diners’ heads and the planters are secured. Prices are quite reasonable.

HORRIBLE service. We immediately got seated and ordered our drinks, but waited 10 minutes for our drinks and waitress to come back. There were less than 25 patrons in the restaurant, so I’m not sure why it took so long. The bread was very hard and not very appetizing. The margarita I had was very weak and my companion said the beer selection was very limited. The food was good, but it took forever to get to our table. The waitress checked in on us once, as we were finishing our meal. We made sure to ask for boxes and the check at the same time, because we didn’t know if we’d see her again anytime soon. There was a dj playing very loud music… all from the 70’s. Time to update the music selection!

I’ve been here several times, and every time the food has been very good. I’ve also had excellent service while sitting at the bar(never sat in dining room). As a traveller, it’s nice to dine somewhere local that isn’t a chain from time-to-time. Restaurant is close to the Hampton Inn and, in my opinion, better than anything else in the area, so save the drive time.

Great find, thanks to Unilocal.Looking for a place to grab a bite, a drink and MOST importantly the Giants game. This totally fit the bill. Bar was friendly area, two tvs, food was good too. Happy hour 4 – 7. I’d repeat any time I was passing thru town.

Horrible service. Even though the place was empty, we had to ask for drink refills. The server got a side dish order wrong and the correct dish came out as we were leaving. The bread used for sandwiches was too hard to bite through and the rolls were stale. To top it off, the server didn’t even say thanks for the tip. Don’t think anyone in our party of 5 plans to return.

Got the Veal Martini this time and it was good, sat in the dining room with a group and the service was much better.

Very inconsistent. My family and I have been there many times, but in the past year or so, food and service have been very inconsistent. When it first opened, it was great. Hope they’ll make necessary changes to get back on track.

I come to Morristown on business several times a year and do not like chains — so this is it! The staff is very friendly and attentive and the food is exceptional. I had the steak with gorganzola over pasta which was very different and interesting — like having a blue cheese fillet over pasta.
