I have had a few bad experiences at the wine bar, but I go so frequently that they’re bound to happen. One of the first times I had ever been I was with a group of my girlfriends and we had ordered a couple glasses of wine while we were patiently waiting for our table to be ready. The girl who brought us our drinks had accidently knocked down some of the glasses onto her tray as she came to sit them down, while also trying to save them from completely spilling over and breaking. So, naturally, I felt bad for her(because I am a waitress, too, and I’ve been there done that). But instead of her going and getting us all new glasses of wine, she sat down 1 glass that didn’t spill but managed to get everyone else’s(different) wines spilled into it, and wiped off the other glasses with a rag trying to salvage what was left of them. Long story short, she thought it would be okay to leave our glasses with only half the amount of wine left in them. This was not okay. Then… in the midst of all this… we had been waiting 40 minutes for a table of 4 to open up, which was perfectly fine until a party of 4 adults who had been added to the list after us managed to get seated before us. So, of course,(in my wandering waitress mind) I started getting irritated and assumed they were getting special treatment because they were high-class looking adults who would most likely be spending more money, thus leaving larger tips, than us college students. So of course I complained and we just so happen to be up next on the list. And my last complaint that probably no one cares about… their Facebook page listed 6 new Spring drinks that were going to be half off one Friday evening. A friend and I went there(specifically for these drinks) and our waiter failed to mention this deal nor was he very knowledgeable when I asked about it. He pointed to a drink on the tablet and said«all of the drinks from here down are half off» which were a total of like 12 different drinks. So throughout the course of about 4 hours I ordered 4 different drinks– 3 of which were not even part of this deal like he had said. After receiving my bill and questioning him about it, he corrected two of the three.(Normally I could care less, but the difference between a full priced and half priced drink is $ 6… so it adds up quickly.) Among all of those bad experiences I have actually had some great ones, and this does remain one of my favorite places to go with friends and family in Morgantown. Their charcuterie boards are exceptional and I MUST have one every time I’m there. Their pizzas and salads are tasty, as well. They have a good selection of wines, but I can purchase a bottle(of some) at the store for the price I pay for just a glass there. Their mixed drinks are good but expensive, as well. Now that I think about it… beer is probably the only reasonably priced drink they offer. I would recommend going during their happy hour for drinks if you want to get more for your money. Staff is always exceptionally knowledgeable– other than that one incident which took me by surprise. Side note: I get that there are allowed to be higher-class, upscale restaurants with greater prices(perhaps to weed out the college students). But come on, we’re in Morgantown, West Virginia, and the same wines and vodkas fill glasses of restaurants in more industrialized cities that don’t charge $ 12 a drink.(I still love you though, Wine Bar.)

A friend and I stopped in The Wine Bar on a Friday evening because another friend mentioned how great their happy hour is. Unbeknownst to us was that happy hour is only Sunday-Thursday which seemed a little odd. We decided to stay for at least one drink because we had heard such great things. We were told to ask for Tracy at the bar. My friend and I really enjoy craft beer and The Wine Bar has a great selection. I also sampled a few of the wines and found a couple I can’t wait to go back and get a bottle of next time. Tracy was extremely personable and friendly as well as Shane who came in a little later while we were there. Shane was very helpful in discovering some wines that were right up my alley. We decided to stay for one beer and ended up having more because we just had such a great time. We will definitely be back(most certainly during happy hour next time too!!).

My dad and I just recently moved to Motown. After a few weeks of being here he said he found a nice hang out spot called the wine bar. So I went to check it out and could not be happier with what I had found. a quaint, relaxed place with a staff that is as knowledgeable as they are friendly. Their delectable food and great wine selection will make me a regular for sure!

My wife and I went there recently for a Christmas party. We were in the ‘event room’ so we didn’t see much of the place, though from the outside and brief look in, it’s not very big at all. The menu was okay, pizza, pasta and entrees with a salad. For a wine bar, they had a decent beer selection and was reasonably priced. The wines seemed a dollar or two too expensive. My wife had the Caesar salad with chicken and I had the Caesar salad with shrimp. Seemed a few dollars too much. The staff was great. They were very knowledgeable about gluten free food and, of course, wine. They recommended a wine for my wife and it’s now her new favorite. I would go back but it would have to be after I saved up a decent amount of money.

After looking at the menu online I was overly excited about having dinner here. To my disappointment after waiting over an hour for a table the menu had changed and did not offer what was online so after the long wait ended up ordering a pizza that was average… The place is small so waiting should be expected but the wait for food when the establishment is not that big was a shock as well. The drinks(spritzer and the jam jar) were great. So if ur just looking for drinks this would not be a bad place to go but have dinner elsewhere.

Decent wine and tapas bar. Wine selection is good, better for bottles than glasses. Tapas menu is alright but limited. Olive bowl has pitted olives that seem like the ones you get at Kroger — get real olives with pits and more varieties! Bread was very oily even without the evoo dip. Cheese selection is not worthy of a wine bar — again it seems like the Kroger variety cheeses. And it’s nice you can select your own, but some suggested groupings would be appreciated. Pizza Classico had a rather soggy crust and way too much cheese. Digital-only menu is certainly trendy, but you cannot save your selections so you have to revisit each page and remember what page you wanted when the waitress comes back. I was there on a Sunday and it seemed like all the staff were new and getting their sea legs. Too much open chatter about the alarm system, signing in/out, incorrectly entering items in the POS and generally just figuring out the place. If Table9 had a better snacks menu with olives, breads and cheeses, I’d have gone back there instead. Now, the waitress/bartender serving me was very pleasant and professional. Ambience, furnishings and lighting were quite spot on, but do not compensate for the lack of polish elsewhere.

Great wine bar with upscale and sophisticated atmosphere. I have been here once with friends and once with my fiancé for Valentine’s Day. Both times we really enjoyed it. This is one of the nicest places that you can find in a college town full of dive bars and clubs. The building is gorgeous and new, and the food was good. The only thing that I would change is some more menu options. The pizzas were delicious, and the wine selection is vast.

The ambiance is second only to the hospitality! Great small plates and lots of delicious wine make a memorable experience inside or on the patio. Just be warned your table may be a little misplaced by your server if you’re on the patio. But … you’re on the patio :)

Absolutely a great wine bar in the middle of hill country. No way rednecks and hillbillys would know about this place or could appreciate its value. Outstanding cheese and wine selection. Food choices are limited but compliment the food wonderfully. If your understand and appreciate high end restaurants, then visit this Wine Bar.

We weren’t really blown away with The Wine Bar. The food was just OK and the wine list was mediocre. The electronic menu is harder to navigate than it needs to be. I couldn’t really find the wines I wanted on it. The list also differed from what was shown on their website. The service was attentive and prompt. We dined on the bruschetta, which was delicious, and the Italian stuffed peppers. The peppers were very bland and we would not order them again. However, everything was fresh, so that’s a plus. I would recommend this place for a pre or post dinner drink and nothing more.

The menus at the Wine Bar are tablets, which is really cool, despite being slightly at odds with the vintage ambiance. The tablets are incredibly user friendly, and if you can’t work the tablet, don’t worry; the staff is fairly attentive(at least at 5:00 on a Thursday). The seating is fairly comfortable, but there is not enough table space if your entire party wants their own pizza. The wait staff will bring additional pizza stands to accommodate for this, but someone’s pizza will always be in peril if you move too fast. The pizza is great though. You can customize yours in a variety of different ways and they’re all delicious. I can attest to this because my entire party of five got different pizzas and we all shared. Also, the sangria is lovely.

The Wine Bar is a cute and spacious spot to wind down. There is a limited happy hour menu and an extensive wine list. If you’re looking for a calm atmosphere where you can actually hear conversations without having to yell over loud music or obnoxious drunks, this is the place you’re looking for. There are tables with high chairs and several couches with low tables to sit down at if you’re in a group. There is also a separate room on the side with an extended dining table if you have a large party in your group. The menu is pretty nifty, and you can see what dining options are available on a electronic Samsung tablet! I’ve come here on several occasions with friends, but only can give 2 stars because each time it took a long, long time to get the check or a drink, and due to the limited menu selections that do not accommodate for dietary restrictions. I also do not drink alcohol, and the servers have never offered any non-alcoholic beverage options that are available. so I usually end up ordering a soda for which the last 2 times I’ve come to the Wine Bar, I had to wait over 15 minutes for while everyone else got their bottles. The menu ranges from pastas to steak to baked brie to pizzas and nuts and cheese plates. There is also a variety of salads. Unfortunately, I can never eat anything here because they do not have anything that is dairy-free. If you have allergies or are on a restricted diet, I highly recommend eating before coming here because the staff were not very knowledgeable about my inquiries on specific ingredients and kept thinking I was unable to eat gluten despite the fact I had mentioned numerous times I am unable to eat dairy, dairy-by products and seafood. I was not offered any alternative options when I was unable to eat anything off the menu, and the server did not seem very inclined to help me with my dining/snacking options. Typically, I have found that in other cities, establishments such as these, the chef will offer to make something a la carte/off the menu to accommodate allergies. Otherwise, this is really a great place to get a drink with friends in a nice atmosphere.

This is a drinks, dessert, and vibe-only review. I came here for the first time last week, around 8:00pm, for wine and dessert(not to be confused with dessert wine, which is disgusting, sorry). We took a seat at the bar and were waited on by a very sweet but surprisingly unhelpful bartender. When it came to wine, her recommendations and descriptions were hard to follow. She did, however, allow us to try the wines, which is always a nice touch. Your menu is actually an iPad fitted specifically for the Wine Bar, which while very innovative, is hard to navigate: I’m 24 and relatively tech savvy, but I found the constant back-paging and finger swiping tiresome. I thought technology was supposed to make our lives easier? No worries, all the more reason to taut the superiority of the most impressive technology ever: plain and simple print. After we received our wine, we ordered a caramel brownie, an option which is not featured on the online menu(in case you were looking beforehand). It came out warm and was very appetizing(small as things tend to be in these places, but appetizing nonetheless). The whole experience was classy and enjoyable. For example, they offer free valet parking: an unnecessary touch, it seems, considering the ample space in their parking lot. But then again, perhaps on a busy night, it would have been welcome. We sat at the bar, enjoyed our time, and didn’t feel rushed — like I said, it was a weeknight and relatively quiet. I say ‘relatively’ quiet because there was one group of middle-aged women who were causing quite the stir. Lord knows what was so interminably funny, but whatever it was provided a steady background of raucous responses for a solid hour, at the end of which — like the final crescendo in a cacophonic orchestral number — they shattered a glass on the floor. From what I hear, this summarizes the intriguing vibe of the Wine Bar at Vintner Valley: very few college students, a number of young professionals, and a healthy dose of 40+ men and women looking for a classy joint with prices high enough to hold WVU students at arm’s length. I’ll be back to try their pizza, or at least their cheeses, which looked impressive.

Pretty small place but a cool atmosphere. Excellent wine selection(of course its a wine bar). The pizza was ok. Vintage rooms pizza is much better. The meatballs were good. Cheese plate was excellent. Overall nothing rocked my world but its nice to have this place on this side of town. I will be back and try additional dishes.

My husband and I ate dinner here tonight. I ordered the white sangria to drink. It tasted like ginger ale and lacked flavor. Would not recommend the white sangria! They said it was a new drink item on the menu. So I concluded maybe they haven’t «mastered» the technique yet. We ordered a cheese plate for an appetizer … Gouda, Pepper jack and Swiss yarlesburg. Delicious! I got the hot stuffed peppers as my meal. They were yummy! For Dessert: The chocolate ricotta cheesecake was wonderful! Small in portion but rich in flavor!

The servers are very knowledgeable and friendly. It’s just that the atmosphere seems very snooty(for Morgantown)– this is where the rich and famous people of Morgantown magically appear. It’s really weird. But if you know a lot about wine and cheese, you’d enjoy this place more than I did.

Five stars for a Morgantown restaurant.(would be 4.5 in a larger city) Finally got the chance to have dinner here. It was a Friday night, so as expected, pretty packed. Kind of loud, but that’s to be expected. Nice, warm atmosphere. We sat at the bar. Bartenders/servers were excellent. Very friendly and attentive — something I’ve really come to appreciate in Morgantown given the all too often poor/lazy service at many places. Great wine selection at fair prices.(still, restaurant prices of course) The food is mostly smaller, appetizer sized, but the quality if good, and you can tell the kitchen takes care in preparing. We had an excellent cheese plate, the classic bruschetta, and the margherita pizza. All were very good, and the bottle of Bourdeaux was excellent. Left feeling like it was well worth what we paid, and left satisfied with a nice dining experience. Very different from the usual ‘ripped-off/unappreciated’ feeling I’ve come away with after eating at other local«higher end dining» spots like Madeleine’s, Golden Finch, Lira, etc…

I thought the food was great. Flavorful and large portion sizes. The wine list is also a decent size. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. It has lounge seating, table seating, and bar seating. So I think it’ll work for a range of functions. It even has a little cove that would work for a group of about 16 people. Truly look forward to visiting this place again.

Cheese & Charcuterie Plate — Mimolette cheese, Piave cheese, Bresaola, Pepper Butt — My friends and I came here for a bday get together. I am not a wine drinker so I opted for beer instead. They had beers that no where else in Morgantown had so that was refreshing. Food wise I myself ordered the Cheese & Charcuterie Plate — Mimolette cheese, Piave cheese, Bresaola, Pepper Butt which was good. I was also able to taste my friends Onions and banana peppers which tasted awesome BUT let me warn you its HOT for most people. I was also able to try to Margherita Pizza which was good, but I added the onion, banana pepper mix to it and it was AMAZING! Our waiter told us that we could basically put ANYTHING on the menu on the pizza. The prices were fair and the orders were a good size. Definitely worth a visit!
