Tacky. Décor looks thrown together. Cheap silverware. A single cup of Sprite was $ 2.50, a single cup of coffee was $ 2.15. So if you want that genuine experience of being ripped off for subpar, grease ladened food and exorbitant drink prices, this is your place! Went in on MLK day and, with the restaurant more than half empty, was informed that only two people were working so it may take a long time. Hostess was rude and snippy, throwing silverware on the table and just generally unpleasant.

Went here for breakfast. Ketchup was old. Tomatoes and onions in our omelettes were old. I’m not a snob but it’s hard to be satisfied when you pay for food that you can taste is old.

I came to Morgan’s High St. Diner with a couple of friends on a Sunday afternoon around 1:00pm. The service immediately stood out as less-than-stellar: our hostess didn’t say a word to us as she led us to a table and gave us our menus. Our server was friendly, but obviously had a lot on her plate. I ordered a coffee(endless for $ 2.15) and a three egg omelette with cheddar cheese. The omelette came with home fries and two pieces of wheat toast, but was still a little pricey($ 6.25). The eggs were cooked fairly well, but the omelette wasn’t all that hot and the cheese was all in one big goopy puddle in the middle of the omelette, which was a little overbearing. The home fries were tasty but could have used a little seasoning. The toast was not something I expected to be an issue, but it honestly looked and tasted a bit more like bread than toast. I can’t recommend much about Morgan’s. The food was sub-par for the price and the service was average at best. Add that to a strange set of hours and a lack of parking options, and the chances of a return visit begin to look pretty small.

I wanted to try Morgan’s High St Diner again when my parents were visiting. I was looking forward to giving the restaurant another shot after a pretty mixed first visit here. We asked for a table and were told there was a 30 minute wait. This, despite half the tables being empty. We asked if we could sit at the counter and the host explained that the reason for the delay was because the kitchen was backed up by half an hour. I appreciate that this place is making its food to order – not microwaving crap and calling it food. But I’m not waiting half an hour for eggs. This is a diner. The menu is full of short-order items and the expectation is that you can get in and out quickly. We left and had brunch at Iron Horse.

What do you think when you read this name? I think of a diner, of course, with all sorts of classic dishes from breakfast to dinner served 24 hours a day, ranging from a cheap to average price. I wouldn’t expect a bill of more than $ 10 per person. Reality check: While this restaurant serves classic dishes from breakfast to dinner, the dishes are slightly over priced. And while this restaurant has a cool diner feel, it is not open 24 hours a day. I’ll admit that if it wasn’t for the price and hours, I would probably visit more often. But seeing how that is unlikely to change right now, I will attempt to justify this restaurant. Perhaps the price may be a bit higher because of the location and more likely, the experience. The owner(s) obviously spent a great deal of time with the exterior and interior design. As for the hours, the restaurant is located in a college town and more precisely, on the same street as all of the bars students go to. While I applaud other restaurants who are willing to open late and manage the wilderness of young drunk students in their early 20s, I completely understand why Morgan’s Diner does not want to deal with such catastrophe. If I was the owner, I’d be thinking«Open later? No, thanks. I just slaved my ass off to make this business look nice. I don’t need the town to come and tear it down after a weekend.»

I had a great meal here. We arrived and were seated promptly. We had a large group and the host was very accommodating. I ordered the Homewrecker which was fantastic. The décor inside the restaurant is also very neat and educating. Overall we had a great experience.

It took 40 minutes to get a Morgan’s breakfast and an omelet order. They weren’t that busy at all either. Waitress was very nice and you could tell she was doing the best she could with probably incompetent staff. Looked like it was just a bunch of college age kids running the place and no real manager to get things in order on a Sunday morning. I left a 20% tip because I feel like the waitresses were doing there best, but really there’s no reason a diner should take 40 minutes for basic breakfast food, the cooks need some work for sure. I’m sure the waitresses would probably agree. For a second I felt like I was on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares like something bad was happening and everyone was stressing out while we waited patiently for our food.

I am originally from Morgantown, and when I visit I try to find some local place to eat. My aunt, uncle and I were out on Saturday morning looking for a nice place to have breakfast. We came across this diner as we drove down High Street. We didn’t know what to expect, but when we walked in, we loved the place. It was Saturday, so we expected a bit of a wait, and all-in-all 10 – 15 minutes waiting for a table is not that bad when you consider the service and the food. We all had the buffet, and we were pleased by the food and types of food on the line. My only comment for the buffet would be to invest in hinged lids for the pans, as customers did not have a place to lay them while plating their food. Emily was our server, and she was awesome. She was there when we needed something, and did not hover around the table. Great Job! My aunt loved the décor, and she was raving about the eggs and the fruit(with the dip). The coffee was great, and my cup was never empty. Thanks for a great breakfast and time with my family. My family and I will be back!

I love this diner. They did such a great job. Food and décor are great. Breakfast lunch and dinner are all great and you can order whatever you want whenever you want. I gave this only three stars because this place has some of the worst service I’ve ever had soo soo soo slow. One time half the restaurant was empty, but we weren’t permitted to sit down so we went to sit at the bar. Then we were told we couldn’t sit at the bar? We had to wait a half hour to be seated in a place that was half empty … then we had to wait forever to even put in our drink order and then after that was put in we had to wait a while before our food order was taken. Figured because of all of this the manager would have comped us drinks or something, but that didn’t happen. I really hope the management fixes the service here to bring this place up to five stars where it should be.

Great prices, great diner food, nice variety and great service. Parking can be tough, metered street parking but well worth it!

First time to Morgantown and read reviews of this diner. Went on Sunday morning. Decided against the breakfast buffet… Very slim choices. Got the egg waffle Benedict instead. Very unique and filling. The waffle was very good. Would ask, them to hold the chorizo next time.

Absolutely love this place! The food is totally incredible. You can tell its freshly made and there’s nothing else in Morgantown that even compares to this place, especially for breakfast food. Not to mention the foods not over priced or anything. I will definitely be making another trip back as soon as possible!!! Don’t listen to the bad reviews… This place is a must go! The owner is also there quite often and actually talks to the guests… I found that to seem like he really cared about his business and guests.

Another failed attempt to eat here. The place was ¾ empty, with a Sunday buffet, but they still couldn’t seat a two-top. Not sure what they think they’re doing here. Won’t bother trying again.

Had the chicken and waffle sandwich and it was amazing. A little more than I would have actually liked to pay bit the friendly service and quickness of my food arrival more than made up for it.

Went back to Morgan’s and again had a good experience. This time we had a baby cheeseburger with fries and the open face roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes, gravy, and Mac and cheese. We also had a strawberry milkshake, which was delicious. My cheeseburger was yummy. Was not greasy, cooked perfectly with the perfect amount of toppings. Fries were also very good. I think when ordering the roast beef I had imagined an open face pot roast sandwich. What we got was a lunch meat type roast beef that I’m pretty certain was not cooked there, it lacked flavor. The mashed potatoes were not good. Possibly homemade but not good, and the gravy was gelatinous and flavorless. The macaroni and cheese was an entirely different story. Absolutely yummy. Before leaving, an employee, posaaibly a manager, came by and asked us to fill out a survey and stating they would be changing their menu soon.

Had really high hopes for this place, looks inviting from the outside, the décor on the inside sent off good casual vibes with a nice atmosphere. The staff were friendly and our server was very sweet but the food was downright awful. I got the MO-BO, which was recommended by the server and it was literally slop thrown in between two cold pieces of Texas toast. I could hardly ingest half of it, and it completely killed my appetite. My boyfriend got a cheese, bacon and corn beef omelette. It looked dry, over cooked and as if it was set out for hours before it was served. He asked for double cheese and it hardly had any, the eggs were cold and the size of the omelette was hardly enough for a small child. I was told by the host the owners were the same as coaches crab shack and should had known right then it was going to be mediocre food. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal.

I have been here twice so far and plan to go back. Once was for Sunday Brunch on a Home-game weekend. There was a long wait, with empty tables that was frustrating, but you could tell that the single point of failure was the Host. Once seated, the service was great and the food was delicious. We both ordered breakfast, some of the best biscuits I’ve ever had. The second trip was for dinner on a week day, no wait, and the service was much better and the food was still on par. There are a lot of locals who are die-hard fans of other establishments in town, who would probably go and look for things to complain about, but going in with an open mind for some good, cheap food… I was pleased. It’s also the only non-chain that I know of in town where you can get breakfast anytime, which is a HUGE plus for me!

I’ve eaten there a few times since they opened and the food has always been great but the service has greatly improved. They’re really hitting their stride. The burgers are amazing and the chicken and waffle sandwich is great too. Breakfast was delicious too. Highly recommend checking it out.

As someone from NY, it’s only fitting that I should write the first review of Morgan’s High St Diner. Off the bat, it does fit the«diner aesthetic» as it were a branded, themed experience. However, all the charm and utility of northeastern diners is lost on the place. It feels almost like it will eventually become a franchise. When we came in to be seated, there was a 15 minute wait at 1:30PM on a Saturday, despite half the restaurant having open tables. HIREMOREPEOPLE. As for the food, grub was good. Hopefully over the next few weeks or months they’ll make some tweaks to the menu just to make it a little more interesting or even exciting. Maybe even featuring local ingredients. They serve breakfast all day which is just clutch. Coffee is half decent, too. It’s obvious they are starting up and hopefully they fix the small stuff to give a really great dining experience.
