I moved to WV from Washington D.C. and loved Body in Balance, until it closed in 2013. Looking for a similar establishment with high-​quality product and very experienced styling staff, I tried Expressions in Hair. The company’s founder, Rob, has developed his own line of coloring, styling and cleansing/​conditioning products: SANZI is organic, sulfate– and paraben-​free and the results are extraordinary. I am 50 years old and have been coloring my hair for a decade. This is the first time my hair is actually HEALTHY after each color treatment (and the absence of that ammonia smell while processing is a god-​send). Rob clearly knows product and his styling is outstanding. He will actually dialogue with you extensively before the first snip falls, and the results complement your own ideas. Prices reflect the process: a full color and cut is not much less than you might pay in a high-​end salon anywhere. In my line of work it’s worth every penny.
