I had high hopes for this company all because of the high mark Unilocal reviews. If I was to give stars for response time on my initial phone call… they got a 5. For showing up when they said they would…5 stars… everything else went down hill from that.
I called to made an inquiry regarding a backyard project we wanted to get done. Mr. Salazar showed up on time, he seemed very nice and professional, he had some suggestions based on the plan that we had professionally designed. After the meeting he asked my hubby to send a copy of the plans to him via email which he immediately did. Mr. Salazar said to give him a few days and he’ll get back to us. A week (plus) later no response from him. My hubby left him a message but he never returned the phone call. This was over 3 weeks ago. Not sure what happened there. I would have rather he called and said he can’t do the job or whatever other reasons he may have. But not getting back to a potential client after the initial meeting, after he made measurements, and after he said he will get back to us, and after he was left a voice mail message… in my book is very unprofessional.

Luis Salazar constructed my backyard in 2007. There are many hardscape elements in my backyard design: koi pond, arbor, BBQ island, gazebo, play-​yard structure, flag stone in the outdoor kitchen, pavers in the patio, and carved concrete for walkways. The thing that impresses me most is Luis’ attention to details. The stone Luis used for my koi pond matches with the exterior color of my house. The windows on the tool shed matches with the shape of my windows on the main house. Luis even used two-​tone wood chip, matching the red roof and the exterior house color. The arbor is constructed with notched method, instead of the ugly bracket. I can go on and on. Amazing.
The whole project took 3 – 4 months, from late July to early Oct. During the whole process, the crew showed up every day. Luis is easy to communicate and is on the ball. The whole time I felt I was in good hands.

We are very happy with the work they did for us. Luis and his crew are hard working, honest and highly trained professionals. They have guided us through all the decision making process, and we like the way that they communicate with us. We had some bad experience with other contractors, but Luis has changed our bad opinion about contractors. There is still a good and honest contract out there, and he is also doing an excellant job. (also at a good price !)
