E-Optometry

My family have been patients of Dr. Chung for MANY MANY years! We have only continued to go because we do like Dr. Chung. However, my daughter had an appt. yesterday and it will be the last with this office. She wanted to re-​learn how to put her contacts in because we bought her some but she never used them and then forgot how to put them in. (she had them for a year and a half in the box) I called to make an appointment to see if they could show her again and I was told to have her bring the left and right contact. She also wanted to update the LENSES in her very cute Coach glasses. I was also told that she was due for another exam so I made the appt. and I had her leave school for this appt. She had the exam and when she asked about learning to put the contacts in she was told she would have to come in another time for that. What??? Really??? (I wasn’t with her) My main purpose for the appt was to have this taught to her.
Next, my daughter told them that she wanted to use her same Coach glass frames just replace the lenses. They continuously tried to upsell to her. She insisted on the same frames. EVERY time we have had appts here, they have always tried to upsell. I don’t like that. We have spend plenty of money here over the years. But no more. This was the last straw. I am now looking for a new eye doctor. Nothing against Dr. Chung himself, just some of the staff. If anyone knows of one please send me a message. Thank you!

I’ve been coming for years. Dr Chung is a great doctor and doesn’t over-​prescribe lens. As I get older its good to have someone who understands how age, computers and Blackberries effect our eyes.
I love the staff helping pick out frames. I travel all over the place and I constantly get compliments on my frames. I don’t even get frame envy in Europe — land of the über-​cool glasses!

4 weeks and counting! Still my husband is without glasses! This is so un called for! Twice now they have had an issue with the lenses! Called to speak to a mangager or Dr. Chung… neither available! Here goes week five! Asking for a full refund on lenses and frames. Costco can get this better than they have! Oh and today they said they put a rush on it! Seriously? They should have rushed the lenses the last three weeks!

It is true that Dr Chung is a fine optometrist. I have gone to this place for several years but won’t be going back.
Why? The staff.
Discovered I had insurance coverage for my exam several months after the fact. BTW spent about $ 2k on exam, glasses and lenses.
Made a special trip in to show them my insurance card in Dec. At the time one staff member, maybe the ofc mgr although I don’t know for sure, indicated ‘the insurance company might not take the claim because it was so long ago…“
Issue 1– there is no ‘statute of limitations’ or any other carve out for coverage. If you have coverage the day of the medical activity, the company pays. She should know this.
To be fair, I cut her off and told her not to speculate on something she didn’t know, just please process the claim. Maybe that torqued her off…
Issue 2– more than 6 weeks after making the visit to request the claim be processed, I called in to inquire if they had, having heard nothing. Received a call back a few hours later.
Conversation went like this: «We had a backlog in claims processing but it went out. You should be hearing something soon.» «When did you process the claim?» «In December.»
Lo and behold, I called my insurance company today to inquire. They received the claim three days after I called again to inquire. She lied.
The staff cares about money. When you are paying Nordstrom prices you should get Nordstrom service. Apparently the staff doesn;t care about customer service or honesty.

Dr. Chung and his staff have been taking care of our optometry needs for over 20 years. I would not trust my family to anyone else! Good luck for another 20+ years!

Beautiful office, friendly staff. The Dr. is very professional and trustworthy. Worth every penny.

My whole family goes to Dr. Chung; first my husband and me, then our 2 children when they were born. Dr. Chung is extremely knowledgeable, calm, and thorough. He has helped me through glasses and contacts, and between him and his staff, I’ve always been well taken care of.
A few years ago I bought some glasses at a chain store for less money, but I had to replace them as quickly as possible because they were such poor quality. I only buy my glasses from eOptometry now.

The doctor was informative and took his time checking my eyes. They have a huge selection of eye wears. Not to mention the great staff they have. Very cheerful and willing to answer any question.

I’ve only had one appt here, but my experience was very good. The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful.
Dr Chung also is a sweet friendly doctor. He was very knowledgeable and informative. He took the time to explain to me why he did almost every test and what it meant. I’ve never had an optometrist who has done that (i’ve had 3 different optometrists in the past).
I really appreciate his calm demeanor and for taking care of my eyes. He didn’t rush through the appt and made sure that I was receiving the right prescription. He was patient with my 18 month old who started fussing during the appt.
Even when I wasn’t a patient yet, the staff helped me with finding insurance.
The office was very clean, the staff did not seem catty, the technology used seemed up to date (to me), most importantly the doctor was awesome and took the time to meet my needs. I also really like that they have email and/​or text reminders for your appt.
A great experience and I highly recommend him.

Dr chung and his staff are phenominal! I have been a patient here for 20 years and they always go above and beyond for me. Recently I was looking for color contacts in a very hard to find blue that I had purchased years ago, even though they no longer carried that brand one of the girls there tracked down the manufacture and got them to reorder the exact same ones. I know my eyes are in the best care possible. Thank you guys so much
