Love the Philly Cheese Steaks and the fact that they have a rewards card makes it even better. The service was good and I think they even added some additional seating out front which is nice because there is hardly any room to sit inside.

A-Jay’s is one of our go-to places in Morgan Hill. Cheese steaks are good and the wings are pretty great. I love the lemon pepper! We find it easiest to call in our order and pick it up bc the seating is limited and they can get busy.

1st visit and I wasn’t disappointed. Food was very good and the service was equally good. Sandwiches were very tasty and huge. The garlic fries were plentiful and loaded with garlic. My only complaint was no A/C and boy was it hot. I’ll definitely be visiting again.

I’ve had cheesesteaks in Philly, and these rate up there as the best I’ve ever tried! This is a hole in the wall and feels sports-y /dive-y. That’s not a minus, it’s the vibe. Seating is extremely minimal. We actually found this place by accident — we were going to go to a nearby place and then we saw a line of people out the door of this random little corner spot… Clearly all those people knew something we didn’t know, so we just followed the crowd and got in line. So happy we did! * Main entrance is NOT on Monterey St. It’s on 2nd street. The address is misleading * Tried the mushroom and garlic cheesesteak with provolone, and the buffalo cheesesteak with provolone(~8 each); accompanied by two Negra Modelo beers($ 4 each). About $ 25 for everything. Excellent value for the money. * Flavor was perfect. Thin, perfectly sliced meat that was tasty and cooked perfectly(not overcooked, not undercooked). Great flavors from the peppers and sauces. Came in here only moderately hungry and ended up devouring everything we ordered. * Takes about 15 — 20 minutes to get your order, but they clearly tell you that before you place your order. Everything is made fresh in front of you, and they are quite popular so you drink your beer, you enjoy the Giants memorabilia on the walls, you have a conversation or three, and you wait for your food. The food arrived in the amount of time they said — about 15 minutes. * Despite the fact that you can call in orders, I probably wouldn’t. First, it’s possible the estimates wouldn’t be correct. Second, this really should be eaten fresh and hot right when it comes off the grill. How is it possible that I didn’t know about this place? I will definitely be coming back. I haven’t tried the burgers… haven’t tried the garlic fries… haven’t tried the cheese fries… so much more deliciousness waiting for me here: D Great job, A-Jay’s! You deserve every bit of the success you’ve had so far — and more!

I really like this place. Good food and very fast for made to order. So far no bad experiences and I’ve eaten here half a dozen times. Great mini lunch time escape from work on the rare day I do not pack a lunch. Worth every penny.

I came here when they first opened and it was awesome. Now, not so much. I called to order and they said 15 – 20 minutes. I got there 22 minutes after I ordered and they hadn’t even started on my order yet. They were working on orders of people who were there and had ordered within the past 5 – 10 minutes. They only had one guy at the cook station, one putting stuff together and the girl at the register. A lot of customers were getting mad because they were wondering why it was taking so long. I ordered a Peppersteak sandwich and the Californian. So I got my order 37 minutes after I ordered. I ate about 1⁄3 of the Californian and the rest went to my dogs. It was pretty disappointing. When I bit into it, it was drowning in mayonnaise. I had saw the guy dollop on mayonnaise on a sandwich, but on the menu it says nothing about mayonnaise on it. It was probably about ¼ cup if not more of mayonnaise, gross. So it was pretty much a sandwich that I bite into and get a mouthful of mayonnaise, yuck. I will maybe try the Gilroy Branch next time. Probably won’t come back to this one.

The cheese steaks are incredible. I love their cheese frys. The location is great, the staff is alright… Their dining area is very limited and mostly outdoor seating without lots of umbrellas. I have been here many times and one of the biggest problems is the food takes so long even when it’s not busy. I just waited 32 minutes for a cheese steak and frys, are you kidding me? They don’t keep their orders in line. They cater to their friends rather then all their customers. The staff can be just plain rude. If you want an excellent cheese steak go to amatos in San Jose/Campbell.

This place has the best burger and cheese steak in the South Bay. The burger is substantial and I love the bacon cheese burger with avocado and mushroom added. My favorite cheese steak is the California with avocado and bacon.

A good way to describe Ajay’s is a heavenly mess between two buns. I’ve been coming to Ajay’s for years now ever since Britton Middle School days, when my friends and I would scratch up some change after school and get some fries and a drink. 7 years later, I’m barely having my first cheese steak! I got the California Cheesesteak(Cheese Steak with Avocado and Bacon) and it was amazing; I’ve been missing out all these years. Food was great, service was friendly and attentive. Not much else to say! Deserves the 5 stars.

Heading home back to SLO after long weekend in the Bay Area. Getting hungry near Morgan Hill and found this place on Unilocal. A real delight. Woman that rang us up recommended the Californian(ordered that for myself) and the South County(husband ordered) both with provolone. Ordered some tots and curly fries to go with. After ordering we turned around and a local says everything is good here. That told me they have a great local following. Anyway, we got our food after a short wait and it was delicious!!! I’ll be back again for sure!

Wish I could give more stars. Food is consistently good. Used to be quoted 10 – 15 minutes and get it fairly close to that time frame. Placed an order tonight at 525p, was told 15 – 20 minutes. It’s now 610p and still not ready. Clearly twice as long as I was quoted. Something needs to be fixed. Makes it hard to want to go back. It was a go to when the kids were starving and we needed something quick.

I’d like to re-review and add a star for A-JAY’S CHEESESTEAKS. I’ve gone several times since my last review, and I’ve settled in with what I love from their menu. I’ve tried the Classic, South County and the Dodger Suck. But my favorite, by far, is the Californian. It is the shizz! It’s a cheesesteak with cheese, onion and peppers — plus bacon and avocado, served hoagie style(mayo, lettuce and tomato). It is so freakin good. I could eat it anytime. Sometimes there’s a bit of a wait because every order is grilled up fresh on the spot, and they have become pretty popular. But quality food is worth the wait. I usually call in my order and take it to go. Service is great, and the owners are locals who work their tails off to please their customers. Overall, my favorite cheesesteak in the south bay. A true gem in DTMH! 5 stars!

I ordered Cheesesteak with mushrooms and onions and onion rings. It’s a little place and had a few others orders in front of me. My impression was the staff was not too organized and orders took over 20 minutes. Not yet in the zone. I’m an east coast transplant so I love a good cheesesteak. The sandwich was ok but not what I was thinking about. It seems the restaurants have a difficult time replicating the thinly sliced steak you find from the east coast restaurants. It’s just not here. The roll was too crispy and not the French or Italian bread you find on east coast subs. But overall it was ok considering. I’ll try again sometime to see if they improve since it is new in Gilroy.

I don’t know Morgan Hill very well, aside from the few places that my family friends frequent. So it was nice to try something new and check out A-Jay’s for take out before the Warriors game. A-Jay’s has a wide selection of cheese steaks, hot dogs, sandwiches, and appetizers/sides. Great to-go spot or a place to grab a quick bite. But beware — if you choose an option that has garlic on it, they pack on the garlic! I had the cheesesteak with mushrooms and garlic AND garlic fries. I didn’t realize how much garlic was on my cheesesteak, and was wondering why I continued to taste garlic on my breathe even after gum, brushing my teeth twice, and mouthwash. Good thing I like garlic!

Ever since moving to MH we have been on a mission to visit all the food joints in the area. A-Jays Cheese Steaks was the next one on our list. The Place: The place itself is pretty small. They compensate by adding tables outside which is nice for when you feel like eating out there. There’s not much of a view since its not right off of Monterey. It is calm and wont have to worry about loud cars going by. The Staff: There were three employees there and they were all younger and they were cool. Pretty patient with us while we figured out what we wanted. The Food: We both got the original A-Jay’s cheese steak. I got all the toppings on mine and a side of wings. The cheese steak itself was pretty good. The meat tasted fine I just wished there was more of it. But that’s just me, I like my protein/fat. The wings are fried and then mixed in with a sauce. Not the best way to cook them IMO but the sauce made up for it. I was planning to go with the spiciest one and decided not to when I found out it had habanero in it. Went with the original buffalo instead. The Price: Each cheese steak will run you about $ 8 and the winds about the same. Its a decent deal I guess. Will I be back?: I think I will be back when the mood hits. This time Ill get fries and maybe try something a little different. I don’t think there are many, if any, other cheese steak shops in MH.

Took advantage of Small Business Saturday to revisit this place. Had the original cheese steak with provolone and Cheez Whiz, plus an order of garlic fries. This time, the sandwich was a lot more flavorful for some reason, and I don’t think it was just the Cheez Whiz. The peppers had a real kick to them, the meat was tender, and the cheeses made the sandwich gooey all the way through. The bread is strong enough to hold the goodies without falling apart or distracting from the other flavors. The garlic fries are prepared exactly the same way as the fries at Falafel’s Drive-In. They’re crispy on the outside and soft inside, and they’re pretty addicting. Unfortunately, the garlic was a little raw this time and therefore had a really strong bite in the mouth. Cooking the garlic just a little bit would have softened the blow. Based on this experience, I definitely plan to visit A-Jay’s Cheese Steaks more often.
