Came to get some breakfast because a friend recommend I come here. They were very unorganized which made it difficult to know where to order and where to pick up. Once I did figure it out, I was greeted by rolling eyes and questions regarding what I wanted. Just wanted breakfast with bacon on the side. «We don’t do that here, so you’re gonna have to wait». Just because your food is good, doesn’t mean you could treat people that way! I think she was more worried about tending to the men rather than a woman dressed in professional work attire.

This is a good small market with good mexican bread, but definitely not a good restaurant/taqueria…salty food, carne asada is chopped into crumbs and over salted. Grill was also been sprayed with cleaner and been cooked at the same time.

–fresh food –delicious bakery –reasonable prices –great service –very organized –BUT one negative thing– is the tables Are usually a bit dirty(crumbs, pieces of meat, occasionally Salsa) but for the most part I highly recommend Juanita’s Market

I love this place: D Well part of it The actual market section is small and not very impressive tbh although there fresh baked bread is good(I LOVE their bolillo) But the hot food section is amazing: D everything that iv tried is delicious&authentic. It gets crazy packed on the weekends, especially in the morning when they have menudo and they run out quick(I don’t mind since I don’t like menudo. Yes a Mexican that doesn’t like menudo) The place is clean, but employees are a hit or miss.

The last time I visited this market, I was ignored because there was no one who could help translate that I was willing to pay the difference of the price of meats to their special or that all I needed was to get a combo meal that comes with the meat, rice, beans, salsa, and tortillas. I waited when one of the employees went to the back to what I thought was to look for someone to help me but then after 10 minutes of the other employee avoiding eye contact with me and no follow up, I left. Even my departure was ignored…$ 25 cash was just not worth it to them I guess. The salsa bar is also off limits to anyone but those dining in now. Most of the people I see dining in purchase just the 1 – 2 tacos and pile it on with salsa and grilled veggies… so why do people who purchase takeout and obviously spend more not have the same privileges? They could even continue to limit the amount by handing out the containers and bags accordingly as they have always done. My friend who is a weekly customer of theirs also had a similar experience. She was waiting in line to purchase a family meal and the 2 female employees kept looking at each other and shaking their heads right in front of my friend until she had to ask what was wrong for one of them to come and service her order. She has not returned since due to the uncomfortable disappointment. This is another sad example of a business that has done well, but if they are going to be selective in whose money they will accept, then they will not do well in the long run. The store is not well known and not in a popular location, so at some point, the Spanish-speaking locals they appear to prefer to cater to will be all they get business from. Hopefully that is enough to keep this small store afloat.

This place is epic, they have awesome bread and their food is always good. Its in the corner of the lot and lots a bit shady but it is some of the best Mexican food you will ever have. It is also the only place my mother buys pumpkin seeds from and the roasted peanuts are excellent.

I know all of us Californians have our very own special, taco/burrito/hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint. THISISMINE! and im sharing it with you YOUOWEME! Flame grilled carne asada :-D while you watch :-0 Its a store, so they walk right over to the meat section grab some asada, seasoning, come back and throw it own the grill. Hermoso! While I’m waiting, my six senses(my extra one kicks in when the flame comes up and kisses the meat) comes together in some sort of unexplained harmonious union, in preparation of another ???(i need a dictionary because i don’t have the words to describe this experience) This is the one. MYSPOT! I’ve been coming to this place since I was a teenager(so a few years now :). I even stuck by them after they changed owners. But he had enough sense to keep some of the same workers and cooks. Smart guy! GOGOGO enjoy California’s Best kept secret.

Yes, it is a small Mexican market but they have a hot food section. Comida como mi mami(tastes like my mom’s food). Best Mexican comfort food in Mo Val. The carnitas torta is the best. I also got the chile verde, pork in green sauce and cactus(costillitas con nopales) or pork and potatoes in green sauce. The pan dulce is also very good, the bolillo is awesome. I know all the ladies behind the counter. Try it, I hit this place up at least twice a week.
