Holiday Inn Express Moreno Valley

Not a great choice. Unfortunately in this area, there are not great choices in lodging and if you do find a decent hotel, (ex. Ayres, which i DO recommend), there are no rooms available. Having said that, this Holiday Inn Express is by far the worst I have ever stayed. Their carpets are filthy, throughout, there is what smells like urine when walking through the lobby. The towels in the bathroom are what you would find at a Motel 6. My recommendation to this hotel is step-​up your game. Clean this place up, at the very least install new carpets throughout. There is absolutely no reason why you cannot shine like your other properties. And please, eliminate smoking rooms (the La Quinta Inn down the street is a non-​smoking property). Additional stink in the hallways is not helping your guests experience.

I liked it. Look, it was $ 100/​night and included breakfast, and not just continental! Denny’s next door was one of the best I’ve ever visited.
Location super convenient right off the freeway, rooms were clean, comfy beds and super friendly staff. I would stay here again. There was a security guard sitting at the front door when I got up at 5 am which was a good feeling. Only complaint I may have noticed is the carpets leading to the rooms were dirty and actually bunched up, could be replaced by either a more shallow carpet or hardwood but otherwise, more than what I was expecting for $ 100 hotel.

So I checked in at 11:45 pm on 07/​25/​2015 needed a room to stay for a trip to 6 flags tomorrow so I wanted to get a nice room so I decided to reserve a room at the Holiday inn express so me and my girlfriend walked in and realized there was toes nails all over the floor before you enter the bathroom this is disgusting and gross so we called the front desk from our room and explained what we experienced and the gentleman starts laughing as if it was a joke and said I’m going to send security up to your room so we waited and security shows up takes a look and said we gonna send someone to clean the room # 333 nobody has showed up to clean it and it’s been past 1 hour I’m decent let going to Report to the business better bureau and nobody has apologized or switched us rooms or even came to clean the room poor customer service horrible assistance.

My family and I checked in to the Holiday Inn Express Hotel in Moreno Valley on March 27, 2015 and checked out on March 29, 2015. Initially we were greeted with smiles and direction assistance. We were advised where to park our trailer safely and given instruction on the complimentary breakfast. After unloading our vehicle and carrying all our luggage upstairs, there was only 1 working elevator in the hotel, we turned the corner of our 3^rd floor room to discover the hallway smelled of pot and cigarette smoke. There was a hotel employee in the hallway next to the vending and ice machine room spraying air freshener trying to cover the horrific odors. We entered our room and immediately noticed the room was clean and smelled heavy of air freshener. Our thoughts were that it was freshly cleaned. Fast forward to day 2… After being out the majority of the day, we returned to notice the same pot and cigarette smells in the hallway. Upon entry to our room we were hit with the overwhelming stench of a dirty smoky ash tray. I went downstairs to inquire with the front desk about the smell and was advised all rooms on the third floor are non smoking and the first and second floor are smoking. I was also advised that sometimes smoke travels up and the rooms at the end of the hall sometimes have a lingering smell. Made no sense to me. Fast forward 5 minutes and the manager comes to address our concern. He offered another room on the third floor. This room smelled just like the room we already were in. The manager then offered what he called a room ionizer. He mentioned it plugged into the wall and would clean the air. I thanked him for his effort and went to dinner with my family. Upon return, we noticed a strong smell of air freshener. After searching we found a plug in air freshener. This was the manager’s «room ionizer». This did not clean the air, it simply gave us all a headache from the overcompensation of fragrance.

I had to attend a funeral in Riverside and just needed a roof over my head so this hotel did the trick. It is a decent three star hotel conveniently located off the freeway. The rooms aren’t the largest and you couldn’t pay me to eat the free breakfast that these kind of hotels offer (add hot water to the yellow powder and «poof!» scrambed eggs… NO THANK YOU!). But it was clean, they had a pleasant looking pool area and a small conference room. Anyone who is going to give this property a poor review for expecting more than this is just being unreasonable. This isn’t a Ritz so don’t expect to have your room turned down and a chocolate on your pillow.
This hotel wasn’t in the greatest area (I don’t know where the Moreno Rodeo drive is) but I felt safe. Most importantly the hotel staff were great and VERY kind to let us check out late, affording us to come back to the room and change after the funeral to drive back to Arizona.
I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

What can ya say… It is not, nor is it supposed to be a 5Star Resort. But my stay this past weekend did earn them 4 solid stars. Nothing made me jump up and down (I was on the third floor anyways and didn’t want to disturb those below me :). But I found the property to be clean and presentable, the pool was clean and refreshing as it was 100+ outside… they even had a special chair for handicapped access to the pool. Each of the staff I saw in the mornings or the evenings all made eye contact with me and wished me a good morning or good evening… and the complimentary breakfast was a great touch.
All in all… if you find your self in the area and need a room, this is your place.
