Fried chicken was tasty, crisp not too greasy, still juicy white meat. Had the potato salad side which was unusually sweet, not my style. Hush puppies also very sweet and a bit mealy.

I wish their food was as good as their friendly and efficient service. The staff is really nice and they try to make sure you’re happy and have enough of everything. The pulled pork was good but I was hoping for something better than the typical roadside BBQ. Cole slaw and potato salad tasted home-made and the hush puppies were heavily breaded — — all ok with me. Its a good value overall. One major complaint: it is overly reliant on the 1950’s theme. Fats Domino plays piano while Marilyn Monroe watches me eat, and James Dean stares at me from across the room; its really to the point of ridiculousness.

Not what I expected but still decent. I felt like I walked into a McDonalds in 1960. Expect authentic, fast-casual Southern pulled pork and chicken. Pro tip: «BBQ» means pulled pork.

LOVEEVERYTHINGHERE! I highly recommend the shrimp. It’s cooked perfectly(tender, not chewy) served screaming hot. The people here are friendly and helpful. Not knowing much about the area, the staff gave me samples and explained all of the menu items. Never had so much fun at a chain restaurant, and never had such great food. Might have to move from AZ to NC :)

The BBQ platter was outstanding! The table sauce was excellent as was the counter sauce. The shrimp platter was generous and the hush puppies delicious. The service was friendly, fast and our large group never had to signal for a beverage refill. The prices were surprisingly reasonable. The parking is easy. The people working there clearly take great pride in their business and their work.

One of the friendliest places we’ve been to! We stopped in for lunch and had huge servings of fried chicken and BBQ. The staff really cared about us enjoying our meal and the food was delicious.

Amazing food and service!!! First time here and they were so helpful when it came to choosing our meals. The bbq regular is a lot of food to me, the pork was cooked perfect loved the sides and I will be coming back especially for those hush puppies!!! Bbq rib sauce is really tasty too! Wait staff was very attentive to our table and brought us anything we needed.

Great food, different from standard fast food. The pulled pork is different from any bbq sandwich I’ve had, more vinegar? I don’t know what they mixed in the meat but it was delicious. I can see some people not liking it though. Fries were decent, gave more than enough hush puppies and the sweet tea is awesome!

i eat a lot at B’s BBQ in Greenville and the Sky Light Inn in Ayden. I have to compare Smithfiields BBQ with those places and they are on the BBQ trail…

I was underwhelmed at the food. My kids turned their noses up at the neon red color of their hot dogs…

My boyfriend loves Smithfield’s, and I see why! The food is always fresh and delicious, and the service is wonderful. When we ate in, we were checked on by a very warm and attentive woman, who kindly refilled our beverages, and brought us additional sauces. Food was cleared from the tables very quickly, and we were acknowledged both coming and going from the dining room. Superb!

For a chain restaurant, the barbecue wasn’t too bad at all. It’s a great deal to feed two people under $ 20.

Normally I don’t so chains but since this is a chain in NC only I will. Been going to this location for years. I’m rating for non locals and tourist coming to town. It is worth a stop. A great lunch or simple dinner. Lots of food for little money. Great service. Real southern hospitality. Sweet Tea is amazing and they sell by the gallon to take home. Pulled pork is amazing and their sauce is vinegar base and amazing. They have pork skin rinds that are amazing. Banana pudding is great. Only thing I don’t like is potato salad and I’ll say I’m picky with potato salad so judge yourself

One of my favorite spots in Morehead! My step-grandad sneaks out of the house to eat here. It has: The best Brunswick stew I’ve ever had. Generous hushpuppies. Unlimited sweet tea. Delicious pulled pork with that good ol’, finger-lickin’ NC bbq sauce. A sink in the dining area for handwashing if you’re not into finger-lickin’…and much, much more! Plus, it’s cheap! The staff is always friendly, down-to-earth, and detail-oriented. Came here over Christmas with my family and it was beautifully decorated with mini Christmas trees on every table.

Stopped here just prior to closing on Sunday night. It’s a local chain of BBQ. I was pleasantly surprised. I had heard it was good food. I had a chicken tender platter. For $ 7, it came with hush puppies, made nice and soft despite being fried, and two sides. I had potato salad and Brunswick stew. I wasn’t sure what was in the stew, so the cashier gave me a sample. It was some sort of pork and chicken stew in a tangy gravy with potato. Very tasty. While I tend to eat vegetarian, I strayed to taste some down home Eastern NC barbecue. My wife got the BBQ chicken which had a nice unique sauce to it. I would definitely recommend trying if you need a BBQ fix. This is a diners, drive-in and dives type gem.

Delicious food, great service! Not a place I would have tried if I had seen the menu beforehand, but I’m glad I did try it. The BBQ has a great flavor. But if you need a red BBQ sauce to go with it, theirs is incredible and served hot. Hush puppies and fried chicken are good, but the BBQ is great.

Smithfield’s is one of the best kept secrets of the south. People from Eastern NC know that the BBQ here is the real deal. I usually get a BBQ platter with fries and hush puppies. The amount of food you receive is generous for what it costs. The service is prompt and friendly. Servers are frequently around to refill drinks and take care of any needs you may have. This is a must if you are in the Eastern NC area.

Came in just to savor their BBQ sandwich and sweet tea. Yeah, the good NC-style southern stuff! Clean place. Friendly staff. Love the fact that there’s a sink in the general dining room to wash off your greasy fingers after you’ve eaten.

For a franchise bbq joint, I have to say that this place rocks! If you like cole slaw, vinegar based pulled pork and a good portion of french fries, then eat here, you wont be dissapointed!
