My wife and I recently discovered Ra Ra’s. This is a great little place designed to be family friendly. We both love the ice cream. My personal favorite is Mississippi Mud. Last week I got bold and tried one of their burritos. Loved it so much, I went back two times over the next several days to get them again. The people behind the counter are very friendly… I’m assuming that it is the owner and his wife. I expect to go back again and again!

I used to enjoy Ra Ra’s in its old location. After they moved, it was sort of «out of sight out of mind» for a while, but last summer I decided to stop in for one of those tasty burritos I remembered. Alas, the best I can say about it is: disappointing. The«new» place was dingy-looking. The décor, which I think was trying for a 50’s malt shop sort of thing in the old place, is lost and tired in the bigger space. It is weirdly laid out, where you have to wander through an empty and sad-looking dining area to find the counter where you order. On the summer Friday that I was there, three bored-looking young women stood behind the counter. Not one of them greeted me or made me feel like they were inclined to take my order. They all three stood with their backs to the opposite counter as if daring me to make eye contact. The burrito… the price was 50% higher, the burrito was 50% smaller, and the chicken tasted like it had been warmed up every day for a week. Oh, and that 50% higher price??? Add to that the $ 2 transaction fee for the ATM on the other side of the room, because this place *still* doesn’t take cards. The ice cream is the same. It’s good. Much better than soft serve. But it seems like those prices went up, too. Maybe Ra Ra’s could settle on what it wants to be, and do that well, and I’ll come back. For now, I pass.

I wouldn’t brag about, but it’s good. Too childish, not very clean a little pricey, and stuck up.

Best thing about this place is the people. There is not a single employee that hasn’t made my experience at Ra Ra’s better. The place started out just with ice cream and added on the food section later and there isn’t anywhere around here that is like it. One of the few hot dog places around that’s any good and all of the food is fresh. Another thing that stands out is how clean their new facility is, possibly cleanest facility I’ve ever seen. Definitely a stand out.

I stopped by here today because snak shak was closed. I grabbed some burritos for dinner. I wasn’t too impressed. however. they do serve them up quick and the ingredients are fresh. but for what I paid I would have been much happier with some burritos from turtle’s. however. after I brought home dinner we decided to try out their ice cream. and let me tell you. I was so happy we did. totally worth every penny. I got a banana split with 3 scoops of ice cream and 3 toppings. topped off with nuts cherries whipped cream and of course bananas. they have so many different toppings to choose from. and ice cream flavors. I ended up bringing it home and sharing because I couldn’t even put a dent in it. the staff there is definitely friendly. and the place has a nice environment. I would definitely go back for ice cream and maybe on the food !

I was eyeballing the hot dogs(even though I’d read the reviews about the burritos) when the owner asked me if it was my first time there, which I said it was. He suggested that although I was looking at the hot dog menu, they are really known for their burritos. So I got both. Hot dog: If you’re looking for a hot dog with mild«hot dog flavor», not boiled(heated on rollers), in a toasted potato roll bun this is your place. Personally I like a stronger flavor and a toasted New England bun. Let’s just say, if I was in the mood for a hot dog, I’d come here and get a burrito. Burrito: First of all, it’s fresh and home made. You put what ever you want from what’s available. Which includes some sort of butter pickled jalapeños, rice, black beans, corn, etc. I happened to have the shredded pork. It was such delicious porkiness. Not overpowered by spices. It really held up, even with all the other flavors going on in the«House Special». I could still taste the pork. The tortilla is steamed instead of heated with a flame(minus 1 star). The owner couldn’t have been nicer. Easy guy to talk to. Good thing I was the last in line for a late lunch. Hard to believe it’s an ice cream shop. I’ll be back, for lunch.

I loved going to Ra Ra’s. The first thing I had was a burrito. It was so very good. Of course I was able to choose everything that went on it, but each ingredient was fresh or prepared perfectly. Calling this an Ice Cream Parlor would be a disservice to the food they offer if the ice cream weren’t so good! I had my long standing favorite cookie dough but there were a lot of tempting choices. It was perfectly sweet and creamy. The staff behind the counter was very friendly and understanding considering the hemming and hawing my kids did trying to decide what to get. One thing that really brought it all together was the arcade. An Arcade! It was awesome to be able to play some old school video games and pinball with my kids. This generation has really missed out on the arcade experience, I was psyched that Ra Ra’s brought back those memories. Next time I’m near I’m going again.
