Rehearsal dinner venue review: The pros: Dornan’s is an absolutely stunning location, with unmatched views of the Tetons. The food is okay. The cons: In my 31 years of life I have never dealt with the level of unprofessionalism that I encountered when organizing my rehearsal dinner at Dornan’s. I think I would have had an easier time getting in touch with the President of the United States than with the event coordinator, Dawn. I’m not sure how one gets the title of event coordinator without being available to assist with any sort of coordination. Dawn made the planning for my rehearsal dinner incredibly stressful. She gave me a verbal commitment that we had a reservation for our date, but then literally went out of touch for SIXMONTHS, during which time I did not have a written contract with Dornan’s, leading me to grow increasingly concerned that we needed to find another option for our rehearsal. I called and emailed probably 25 times with no response. As the day approached, Dawn responded to my emails with convoluted and contradicting responses. Finally, during the week preceding the big day, I needed help with a question related to flowers and décor at Dornan’s. Of course Dawn did not answer the phone or return calls. My mom ended up arranging the flowers and setting them up 45 minutes before the dinner started. The few times I was able to get in touch with Dawn she was condescending and not very pleasant. I understand that Dornan’s is a popular place to hold events and Dawn is a busy woman — but guess what, so was every other vendor I worked with, and they were almost always incredibly responsive, cordial, and made me feel like my wedding events were their main focus. Had I been able to find another venue once I realized the service we were paying for, I would have.

The view here is incredible… like you can reach out and touch the Teton mountains. The cocktails are great and fun. The food is… well not great, but edible. Personally… I come here for the view,

What a wonderful surprise! Delicious food, amazing view, nice microbrew draft beers, helpful and friendly staff. We needed to get a bite before the airport. This place more than delivered. I had the ravioli florentine and it was very tasty and fresh. My friend had another pasta dish and was very happy. The staff was very nice, down-to-earth, and friendly. Note, I bought a piece of banana bread at the counter(airplane snack) and it was dry. Not sure what happened there. So I highly recommend this place based on this one experience. Especially since I’m a bit of a snob with pasta :) P. S. Just to be clear, this is the restaurant at the end, in the same building as the wine shop.

Food was good but the best part was being able to see a moose. There is a trail that goes from the restaurant to the river and on the other side of the river is where we saw the moose. Good place to get lunch and enjoy the scenery.

Such an incredible venue, how did you blow it that hard on the food? The pizza was somehow both soggy and burned. I’m somewhat impressed! Except that it was pretty much not edible.

Located in moose Wyoming. 10 minutes north of Jackson hole the entrance to grand Teton national Park. A tourist location since the 1950s, it is still current. Live music most Friday and Saturday nights. The best pizza in Jackson, and the best bloody Mary’s in absolutely An amazing view from the bar of the grand Teton range. In the summer, there’s a roof deck that is awesome. if you go to Jackson Hole, don’t miss a visit to Dornan’s.

There are a few other places where people have added reviews for Dornan’s, but this one has the correct map location and web link, so here goes … Where in the world can you have bison burritos with habanero cheddar while drinking a bottle of Southern Rhone wine(Cypress Cuvée) selected by Kermit Lynch, while a David Bruce Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir and Monterey County Grenache(Lee Family Farm, a Morgan Winery bottling) chill outside, and storms blow in from a 14,000 foot mountain peak across a winding river valley, and bright yellow aspens quake and rustle in the late September breeze? It’s obvious, right? It’s gotta be Moose, WY. Obviously. Perhaps Dornan’s needs a little explanation. Where else can you get five kinds of Ridge Zinfandel(including the all-important Geyserville) and a Chehalem, plus a Gigondas for the road, all the while reminiscing about your wildlife sightings hours earlier on the trail to Amphitheater Lake or your boat ride to Cascade Canyon? The Chuckwagon may get all the summer seasonal hype, but I’ll take the wine and the aspens at peak fall foliage, any day. Osprey cabin was a lovely overnight spot, with a full-sized kitchen for preparing said bison burritos while sipping Kermit’s GSM blend outside on the patio until the winds drove us indoors for the night. There is more to Dornan’s than uebercomfortable cabins, ultraclassy wines, and ravishingly rugged Teton mountain views. But honestly … isn’t that enough?
