Jerry’s Ribeye Junction

The ribeyes are delicious. Perfectly cooked to order (medium rare for me). I don’t eat mushrooms but my husband says the mushroom sauce served with the steaks is to die for. They serve a cheese plate as an appetizer when you order the steak. This is just cheddar cheese cut into cube shapes, saltine crackers with a homemade ranch dressing (which I absolutely Love!)
The steaks are only served on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. If you don’t want to wait, make a reservation. But if you have to wait, there is a casino attached to the restaurant/​store where you can grab a beer and try to win the $$ to pay for your steak.
Now the steaks aren’t the only great food here. It’s Jerry’s Ribeye Junction on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights but the rest of the time it is Longwoods General Store, with a delicious lunch special Monday — Friday, breakfast served any time of the day. Thursdays lunch special is Ribeye steak, so if you want a sampling of Jerry’s Ribeyes and can’t make it on the nights they serve it, go eat lunch here any Thursday.
The staff are very friendly and attentive. (But if you don’t like being called sweetheart or honey, this may not be the place for you). Also, don’t expect anything fancy. This is an old country store and there is nothing fancy about it. Just great food, great service in a friendly atmosphere.

I am writing this review by proxy, as I have been in search of this place for over a year. One of my college friends mentioned that I needed to go eat at Jerry’s when he heard I was marrying a girl from nearby Waskom, TX. Long story short, 4 years after his advice, I finally found it. Now the problem… when we went there to find the restaurant, we came to find out that it is not open on Sundays, only Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights from 6pm to 9pm. So if you want a good steak, call ahead because this is a by reservation only restaurant.
I will report more when I actually get to go. I have verified that the phone number is correct to make reservations. I am giving the place a 5-​star for now, based on my friend’s glowing review, its mystique, and the fact that anything this secretive must be worth the secret.
