My husband and always enjoy our visits to this restaurant. The music is great; the meals are delicious; the staff is friendly; and the house wines are reasonable and served amply. Anyone in the area should give it a try!

I really had high hopes for this restaurant after the first time we went back in Aug 2014. It was so good so my husband and I went back for Valentine’s Day this year and the food wasn’t great. We decided to give it another try the other night and it was not good at all. The waitress was overwhelmed. The food was not hot and didn’t taste good. Everyone around us was freezing and my chocolate lava cake came out still cold on the inside. I don’t think we will be returning to the restaurant even though it’s nice they take reservations.

My partner and I dined at Trattoria Al Gusto on Christmas night. As first-time visitors we were really taken by the place – a large and cozy restaurant hidden away in Mooresville. The waiter that greeted us was very knowledgeable and recommended a few dishes from their special holiday menu. Each of our orders from the three course options were prepared in a good amount of time and came out wonderful! For starters, we had seared scallops with sweet mashed pumpkin and homemade bread. This set the bar high right away. The homemade gnocchi with braised beef was one of the best I’ve had compared to a few other restaurants in Charlotte. My partner’s Chilean sea bass was also cooked with utmost care – practically melting in our mouths. Overall we had a fine experience for a reasonable price. Every dish was prepared with quality ingredients and well-balanced flavors that contrasts your typical heavy Italian fare. We will definitely return for another date night and we suggest this restaurant for anyone seeking an authentic Italian experience.

My husband and I went here for a late Sunday brunch and it was fantastic! The bread that was served before our order was a combination of a dense sweet bread and corn muffins served with a fruit preserve. I enjoyed it with a cup of the fresh brewed cappuccino, which tasted as delicious as it looked! For my meal, I ordered the Grilled Salmon with sautéed spinach and roasted potatoes. My husband’s pasta craving was accommodated by ordering off the dinner menu, which they allowed without hesitation. Hands down, that was the best Salmon I have ever tasted. The whole dining experience was fantastic. Great atmosphere, extremely friendly staff, and fantastic eats!

I can’t believe this place has less than a perfect review. Had dinner there last night and had one of the best meals I’ve ever had in this area. Service was impeccable, atmosphere was great, and the food was incredible! You MUST try the chocolate lava cake for dessert!

For Mooresville, 5 stars. Excellent service by primary waiter, adorable Spanish speaking energetic wait staff support, food was excellent for the area. All of the food we ordered is made by the chef there on site, including the desserts. Although they have veal which we don’t ethically agree with they also have wild caught salmon and other ethical and sustainable/healthy choices relative to what’s available in the area, again. We will come here again to see Matt et al, we especially liked the unique and rustically decorated building that housed the restaurant. I want to address the reviewer that complained about this primarily Spanish-speaking staff. At least you had people to serve you who smiled and wanted to work hard. Also, if your biggest complaints about a restaurant are that it’s too chilly and the waiters speak too much Spanish and you got kechup when you didn’t want it, maybe you should go back to Applebee’s or sit in the rockers in the front of Cracker Barrel with the other grumpy old men, and wear your cardigan and be happy.

Set the thermostat a few degrees higher. I know that you tend to set a thermostat a bit low for when you first open because when more people come, they add to the load on the A/C. That said, it’s not good when you wish you had worn a long sleeved shift when it is already in the high 80’s and it’s not even noon yet. One size fits all does not work. My wife and I went for brunch yesterday after Church. I had a Panini with Proscuitto and Mozzarella. The Panini was good but I doubt that due to thickness of the meat, that is was proscuitto and not regular country ham and the Mozzarella was not completely melted. My wife had a foccasia or flatbread dish with crab which she enjoyed. One problem is communication. The English skills of the staff are only matched by my Spanish Skills which means we are in trouble. I was asked three times if I wanted ketchup for my fries and three times, I said no. Ended up with ketchup anyway. In general, it’s pretty good but could be a lot better. I keep hoping

Unexpected fine restaurant. Parking on site, interesting historic building. Excellent service, not hurried. Great menu selection, choice made harder by specials which enticed 2 of our 4 away from earlier choices. All meals were delicious, serving sizes very generous. Price much(20−25%) less than we usually see for a good restaurant. And house chianti and chardonnay were not bad, good enough all went for seconds.

Went for dinner with my wife and close friends. We are well traveled and know a great restaurant when we find one. Everyone was impressed with unique variety and excellent quality of the cuisine. Pricing was very reasonable. Service was well paced and the server personable and attentive. Parking is convenient in the onsite lot. Don’t miss this restaurant when you are in Mooresville.

What a cute place for date night. Went for Charlotte restaurant week, and the amount of food was amazing! All four in the party were stuffed and loved each item we had! The service was great! Everyone was very friendly and sociable. Everything moved quickly, with many servers helping to bring out food, clear food, or refill drinks. Definitely going to keep this on my date night list.

I can’t get enough of this place. They go way beyond simple pasta dishes. They will modify any item to satisfy your preferences. Even better, if you don’t know what you want, ask the waiter/waitress for suggestions. They will come certainly please your tastebuds!

Our friends brought us her for our first time. It will not be the last. The food was very flavorful. The service was awesome and the staff was knowledgeable. The wine list was good. Pricing is what you would expect for a higher end Italian restaurant. Can’t wait to go back.

Incredible food and service. We ordered the sauteed calamari appetizer and it was amazing. For my entre I ordered the Chicken Fiorentino. Again, incredible. Portions were huge, I couldn’t finish my entre. Our water was always full and our waiter was always checking in on us. I wish I could have dinner here every night.

Food, service and atmosphere was great. This was our second time and it was just as great as the first! We’ve taken out of town friends both times and they were impressed as well. If your looking to arrive for a non rushed dinner, this is the place. Nothing is pre-made.

I am baffled by all the negative reviews this restaurant has gotten on Unilocal.Although most seem to be centered around not sitting quickly enough during restaurant week or from reviewers who’s typical dining options are chains, fast food and all you can eat buffets. I had yet another wonderful dining experience here this evening with friends. The pan-seared scallop appetizer was cooked perfectly and the main dish of Chilean Sea Bass was nothing short of phenomenal. The wait staff was spot on and their wine selection amazing. The rest of the party had ravioli, stuffed mushrooms, surf and turf and everyone loved their dishes. All of us are repeat customers and will continue to be!

Very good apps. Tuna interesting. Calamari also good. Nice atmosphere. But the service very slow. The entrée with beef and dumplings awful. Parking is a challenge.

Probably the best Italian food you can find in Mooresville, and worth a trip if you’re in a neighboring town or area. The menu has your traditional courses from an Italian restaurant featuring antipasto(appetizers) to salads to pastas to entrees and dessert. With the family of four, we had our taste all around the menu, starting with a special appetizer off the menu, mushrooms stuffed with beef and cheese topped with shrimp in a crème sauce. Really good and one mushroom was enough with the bread for the table to skip a salad. I ordered the tuna special dish — with seared grilled tuna, inside pink and with sautéed spinach, asparagus, and crispy potatoes to match. This dish came with a sauce to douse the dish with — featuring olives, capers, and onions. Excellent dish that probably won the table. Lots of different flavors and options to bounce around with. Other dishes ordered were the house ravioli– looked good, a shrimp and asparagus pasta — great pasta noodles, and the surf and turf with sirloin, crab meat, scallops, and shrimp. I’d pick the tuna again over the others but nobody walked away unhappy or hungry. Honestly the service was pretty good(although largely empty restaurant) and the half-priced wine didn’t hurt. Too full for dessert although lots of reviews mentioned the tiramisu. This place should compete well with Epic Chophouse, the place down the street that has cornered the market of the higher scale options of downtown Mooresville. Check it out!

These guys have come a long way since they first opened. Long gone are the days of rushed, overwhelmed servers. These guys are right on the mark. Super friendly, immediate table service and cleaning. Excellent specials, but I chose the«on the menu» NY strip with truffle fries. Yum. Medium rare to medium. Perfection. The fries, even though I like them a little more crispy, were delicious. One small complaint, it was chilly inside. Otherwise we will definitely come back… often.
