Sugar Mamas Custom Cakes

I ordered a cake for a birthday celebration for a friend. I requested it to look like a basket of flowers and that’s exactly what it looked like! Everyone who saw the cake said that it was the most beautiful cake they ever saw. It was a shame to cut into it, but when we did the taste was wonderful. It was moist and delicious! I really can’t say enough about how wonderful the cake turned out. I will definitely use this bakery again.

My family uses this bakery for everything. The cakes have always been delicious and perfectly decorated. When it was my turn to get married, my cake couldn’t come from anywhere else. No brainer!
However, my experience was very different. I didn’t really look at the cake in the store because we had already paid when we ordered, and I was just excited to get it home for the big day. But when I took a second to really look at it I was very disappointed. So much so that I started to cry in the car on the way home with it. I wanted to take it back but my now husband said (correctly) we wouldn’t be able to get anything else in time so we would have to fix it ourselves. The frosting was bright blue instead of the soft powder blue I wanted, and the sugar flowers were fluorescent orange and yellow mixed with vampire purple and red. They were also not shaded at all.
After removing the most atrocious flowers and recoloring the remainder, it looked passable but the cake was dry and the filing was almost nonexistent. I feel like there was no effort or care put into this at all. I would give one star based on my experience, but I am giving three because I know this place can do better. I just wont be gambling on them again.

holy cow. there are not enough good things to say about sugar mamas. we had a wedding yesterday and the cake was gorgeous and very delicious. everyone said it was the best cake they ever had. very pleased. will be using them for any special occasion cake we will buy. they are super easy to work with and I literally can’t think of anything to complain about their service. it was, in one word, perfect.

FABULOUS! They made my daughter’s 1^st birthday cake and the first cake is always very special and I am so so glad they did it because it was beautiful, delicious and absolutely amazing! I can’t recommend them highly enough. I was nervous about picking someone who could do an artful cake and they are pro all the way! It was perfect for a little girl with style… fondant decorated with roses, strawberries and little blue birds… it was GORGEOUS!

This shop is such a great addition to downtown Mooresville. Her cakes are delicious and prices are fantastic. The order process was smooth sailing and the cake far exceeded my expectations! I was so pleased with my Mother’s birthday cake. It was like a hint of spring during this insanely cold/​snowy winter. I will certainly be a repeat customer.

I used this bakery to make my wedding cake for 10÷22÷11. I chose 5 different cake flavors and it turned out perfectly. Emily did such a wonderful job on our cake and it was the highlight of our wedding reception. I recommend the fall flavors of pumpkin with cream cheese and orange with cranberry filing. They have cakes for all occassions and prices are reasonable. Best Cake Ever!!!
