If I could give half star I would! This place has the worst customer service I have ever encountered! The food is average at best! Not worth your time!!! Go somewhere else!

Great Eastern NC style BBQ. Love the vinegar & spice for the Q. Could use a little more smoke to the taste, but that’s a slight personal preference. Overall, this place nails it, and we will continue to patronize them. Randy’s BBQ in Troutman and Mac’s Speed Shop in Cornelius are also great BBQ places in this area(just being fair), but you cannor go wrong with Lancaster’s.

Always a stop when we’re in town with a group. Food is good but a little too many deep fried options in my opinion. Out of nine different appetizers served all were deep fried. Main course was grilled chicken and it was delicious. Again one of our regular stops.

Went here for lunch with my local engineering team, they recommended this place. The service is ok, no wait today. The whole place is full of NASCAR stuff, the ceiling is covered with car hoods and they have a bus in the middle of the restaurant I had a BBQ Pork sandwich, NC style with Cole slaw and French fries. The food was ok, nothing to get too excited about, but also no reason to complain.

Great place for kids, love the ribs, hush puppies and fried pickles. Only 4 stars because they don’t serve coffee.

There is nothing in place that is up to date when it comes to NASCAR. Place is adorned with old body style sheet metal decaled with logos of sponsors who have long departed the sport. NASCAR is going on generation 7COT cars and non in site. Unocal 76 has long been replaced by Sunoco as the official fuel and not too many ½ and half school buses left at the race track either. They may want to consider re billing the place as memorabilia theme instead. The menu is limited with traditional bbq choices only. Not a lot going on on it. I got the ½ fried chicken which came either regular or spicy dipped. The dip does add some flavor but makes the chicken wet so you don’t get the nice fried chicken crisp you would expect from a good southern fried chicken. The dish came with two sides. I had onion rings and bbq beans. The beans were not good at all. You can get more flavors out of a can of Bush’s off the grocery store shelf. The onion rings where nice but it came with literally three on the plate. The plate is a sectioned plate like you got in school and the poor rings looked desperately lonely as they were spread out in an attempt to cover their section of the plate. They were the best tasting part of the meal and the enjoyment was limited to 3! If you like rings order for both sides and get 6! The two intellectuals in the booth next me dropping the F bomb while talking about how smart their 5th graders where and how the ex-wives weren’t complying with their every need for them to live vicariously through their kids accelerated education was somewhat uncomfortable and mildly entertaining at the same time. Gee guys, wonder why your wives are preceded by the prefix ex. These guys give meaning to the oxymoron«intellectual idiot». None the less it went on uninterrupted by the staff that may or may not have noticed.

Great local place with nascar theme. Once a friend always a friend attitude. Solid bbq pork and chicken. Adult beverages for the many crew members. A nascar fans heaven.

If you’re into NASCAR, you will love this place. If you’re into good food, you’ll be OK with it. They do a solid brunswick stew, but I would suggest avoiding the green beans unless you’re a fan of the elementary school cafeteria, dark green, slightly overcooked variety. As far as main courses go, they are best loved for their BBQ, and do well on that, but most everything else is a little unsatisfying. My favorite part of their menu has always been the free hush puppies they bring out in a little basket. The best part of this place is definitely the decorations. They have a bus with tables that is really fun to sit in, and if you don’t get a table in it, you’ll at least be able to see the bus from your table. It feels a little like eating in a NASCAR-themed amusement park — complete with arcade games by the door.

This is about reasonable customer service and poor management– Period. Not about food as we did not get that far. With the US Open in progress today(Labor Day 2015), I called the take out area to arrange an order. A lady answered and asked if I could wait a few minutes… All OK… Then this guy picks up the line and asks for the order. Asking for 2 pork plates and sides, I was asked if I wanted white or dark meat. I responded that I wasn’t aware of that selection for the pork plate. He did not respond in an intelligent manner and stymied, I asked for the the to go area to ensure I was in the right section. The smart aleck hung up on me. Calling back, I made sure I was in the take out area and asked to give my order as well as the name of the manager such that I could report the issue when I picked up the food. The lady insisted that I speak with the manager now and proceeded to get her(the manager). The manager defended the man who hung up on me stating that we must have gotten cut off. Further that the guy might have thought that I ordered 2 quarters(implying chicken I guess). Being defensive, I told her I’d eat from some other place tonight… Anyway, I won’t give them my money.

Surprise surprise, my fiancé picked up a call-in order for us this afternoon and of course it’s too difficult to put the sauce on something. The only reason we ordered food from here was to get BUFFALO chicken tenders and while placing the order buffalo and mild sauce were repeated twice but I guess you can’t help stupid employees. Update: I wrote this before going back to have them fix my order only to be treated RUDELY for THEIR mistake. They tried to give me a side of buffalo sauce to add to my now COLD chicken tenders instead of making me new ones. It was an issue to get fresh tenders even after having to drive back there. My fiancé made it clear to them that they lost a customer after the way they acted over a messed up order. If you’re going to mess up orders at least know how to make it right. That’s not how you treat customers.

Maybe the best bbq I’ve ever had. The hush puppies were to die for. My husband had the catfish combo with wings, bbq beans and mustard slaw. The catfish was excellent and wings were tender and big. I had the bbq pork platter with bbq beans and loved it. If we didn’t live so far away, this would be a regular stop for us. Service was excellent as well.

A combination of two of my favorite things — old school NASCAR& Eastern NC barbecue. Had this place targeted while I was in the area on my «NASCAR tour.» In the generation before Rowdy, Smoke, and Flipper, we had Handsome Harry, Swervin’ Ivan, JAWS, The Intimidator and THEKING. This place is filled with the car hoods and sheet metal of the cars of the previous NASCAR stars, with a small nod to Jimmie, Jeff, and Kevin. .Absolutely LOVED seeing all the memories of NASCAR past. Now on to the«Eastern NC style barbecue»… I ordered the barbecue plate with fried corn on the cob and mac and cheese. It was served with hush puppies. Food didn’t take long to get to the table. The barbecue is served without sauce. There are squirt bottles of sauces on the table. One of them is a vinegar base with a pepper mix. The barbecue sans sauce lacked flavor, and the sauce gave it a sorta Eastern NC flavor. Yes it was good — but not as good as real Eastern NC Barbecue. Table next to me was from Jacksonville NC — even more Eastern NC than me — and their opinion was like mine — good but not as good as the«real thing». So if you are in the area come on in, soak up the NASCAR vibe and enjoy this area favorite. And when you are in Eastern NC we have lots of barbecue places to suggest to you!

Gimmicky, yet somehow off the beaten path. The food is decent enough, but don’t expect any Michelin stars displayed. This is basic barbecue and wings, so have your expectations set at average. Your kids will love sitting in the bus, so be ready to cram yourself into that thing for an hour or so.

This place was a little awkward at first… Then you walk in and are blown away! It’s by far one of the best BBQ places I’ve ever been done south. Good food, decent prices, and a great atmosphere! Highly recommended!!!

Been coming to Lancaster’s for 18 years and have never had a bad meal. Best BBQ and chicken wings in the Mooresville NC area. The Waite staff are awesome. If you time it right, you can have lunch with some NASCAR crews.

Lancaster’s is a locally owned barbecue restaurant, the best in town! Whenever my husband and I want barbecue, we go to Lancasters. In truth, I don’t know if I have ever eaten inside this restaurant — we always get it to go. My husband is from Eastern NC so he’s quite particular about his BBQ. Me, I’m a yankee and barbecue is a VERB — NOT A NOUN — in my book. LOL! However, I’ve married a southerner and I can now appreciate quality BBQ — and Lancaster’s never disappoints. I am almost surprised to find how tasty their BBQ is without adding extra sauce. They season and sauce is well(vinegar based sauce.) We do love their sauce, so we usually get some extra to go. I also love their hush puppies. I dip mine in ketchup, and husband(the weirdo southerner he is…) dips his in butter. Huh? As if it’s not fried and fatty enough… I guess that’s how some southerners do it. Condiments aside, we both love their hush puppies! I like their coleslaw/slaw — it’s a sweet creamy based sauce. My husband doesn’t care for cabbage — so more for me! We also like their wings — which honestly surprised me. Specifically, we get the wings EXTRACRISPY with SAUCEONTHESIDE! Perfection! This is particularly helpful in keeping them crispy when we get our food to go. If you want great BBQ, and want to support a locally-owned and well-loved establishment, go to Lancaster’s!

Great Service and Bar-B-Que. Another of the various restaurant in the area owned by the Lancaster family. Sister restaurant to the one in Mooresville and I was told by the server that much of the meat is smoked in Mooresville and brought down. In anycase, the food is very good. I ordered a pork BBQ plate that was piled high with great meat. Very little fat in it and quite moist and full of flavor to the point that the sauce only served as an accent. Had a side salad that was average at best with vinegar in the dressing not being in balance with the rest of the dressing. BBQ Beans were good with a nice smoky taste and the hush puppies were great. Service was very good and we did not lack for anything. Promptly seated and menu’s and drink orders taken within two minutes of arrival. Décor is a bit unusal. Locally it’s got a bit of reputation of a biker bar and while you can see evidence of it, it’s a very upscale biker bar Fun place to go and relax and have some great food.

You’d think a BBQ place would only be rave worthy for, well, BBQ. But nope – their burgers, sandwiches and fish are fabulous as well! I had been thinking about ordering a sandwich in one of my nearly dozen visits and finally decided to go for it. WOW – I was NOT disappointed! The turkey was moist and not a pile of shaved meat… planks of breast meat! The grilled onions were perfect, not oily or burned. The bread was grilled perfectly, the cheese was melted without being a gooey mess. I was only able to eat about half my sandwich(minus the bite by my son and husband each ‘had to have’) and the other half was super the next day after a few minutes in the toaster oven! The seafood slaw has no seafood, but is a white creamy slaw and not runny or overly sauced. The only side I don’t have high praise for are the baked beans, which did not taste baked, but stove top cooked. Otherwise, they are all wonderful! Waitstaff that has been there a while are quick with solid answers, we’ve gotten two newer people lately and been less than thrilled on them having to ‘check on that’ for almost any answer. The one I had this week would have had to get back to me on the color of the sky. :(But generally, we find very good service there! Salads are great, but if you do not want the tortilla bowl(too many calories for me!) then be sure to let them know you want it in a regular bowl before you order. Also, I recommend dressing on the side unless you really like a lot of dressing on your salads. We’ve never had room for dessert, meals are plentiful, but we hear they are fantastic. The table next to us was having a ‘When Harry Met Sally’ moment over their peach cobbler. Get a room, people!
