Lake Norman Tavern

Been a couple of years since I have been here but it’s a big improvement.
In the old days, used to have a bit of a rough reputation and was called Uncle M.I.L.F.‘s and still have some signs that referrence that fact but now M.I.L.F. stands for Man I Love Food.
It’s a cool wet Autumn day with intermittent rain. Got a pneumonia shot at CVS and came down Brawley School Rd to Lake Town Tavern. Bit understaffed with only one server doing everything except prepare the food but not a lot of people so it works out well.
I ordered the French Dip and it was excellent except the horseradish if that is what it is, is a bit lame. Lots of good beef and large portion as well. The Fries on the side were what we call Seasoned Fries and they were perfect.
My wife had a Steak and Bleu Salad that she loved. Large portion with plenty of steak and bleu cheese but also with candied walnuts and blueberrys made for something different.
Family kept coming in with kids so very family friendly. Pleanty of wide screen TV’s and today, this is more of a sports bar though still a bit dimly lit.

Great fish tacos the mussels and clams steamed are great for a light meal. The bartenders are really nice. This is kind of a local place, but if you are a new face they will make you feel like a regular. Burgers and ribs are among their top sellers. I’m not a meat eater but my father in law loved the ribs and my mother in law loved the French dip. Check it once and you will be back.

Coming to this place has become a staple for me and my wife. Everyone (staff and fellow customers) are always nice. Never had a bad meal here. Pro tip. If you are unsure, get the wings or fish tacos. One word of danger. A couple of visits and you’ll become a regular as well.

This is solely for takeout only. Family ordered 75 honey habenero wings, fish tacos, shrimp tacos, fried pickles, and a rack of ribs. Wings were pretty tasty and not as spicy as I would have expected with it being habenero (no afterbite heat residue I expect from habeneros) and wings were a tad overfried. Plus was the cold celery sticks with ranch dressing! The ribs were tasty but too falling off the bone (most likely oven baked and tossed on the grill to warm up), but came with an overabundance of fries and a side of cole slaw. I heard the tacos were tasty but spicy. Overall, certainly not too shabby for ‘bar food.’

Has a great family feel along with amazing burgers and that nice tavern look that couldn’t turn even the fanciest civilian away!
Tends to be quiet with an older generation of drinkers but, if your just looking to eat with your kids and have a couple beers it is the right place

Came here with some friends and loved the place! We didn’t eat but we had a few drinks. Great atmosphere!

Great bar food. Friendly staff. Seafood platter is the best and will feed two.

We had the fish taco and chicken wings. Both was very good. More of a bar, they had couple of pool tables. Good place to go for casual dinner.

The floor was dirty (sticky, actually) and the moment we stepped inside I knew Unilocal had let me down. It was 9 on a Friday night and the place was mostly empty (and no one eating — just drinking). Bad sign… I ordered the patty melt which was okay, but we also ordered jalapeño poppers which came out soggy and lukewarm (pretty sure it was microwaved). I expected the garlic fries we ordered to be seasoned with garlic and other spices but it looks like they literally just dumped some minced garlic (in moist clumps) over plain fries with no other seasoning in sight.
Last but not least my friend ordered a hamburger and it came out rare to medium-​rare (this is not hand-​ground beef so it really needs to be at least medium). She sent it back and they of course burned it until it was too tough to eat.

Very awkward lunch schedule, having to seat yourself. It may have been a one time accidental experience, but I experienced in. The restroom stalls were beyond horrible. To where I had to hold it until I went home. What really made up for all these problems were their wings and fries. Very delicious. I will return once every six months for that.

Went to dinner Sunday night and decided to try this place, mainly because I wanted to shoot pool and pool on Sunday is free. We had dinner first. I got the Cheese Steak (figured you can’t go wrong with a cheese steak). I have to admit, it was one of the best if not the best Cheese Steak sandwich I have had. My husband got the wings which on Sunday are $ 0.45 each. He said they were good, which means they were probably really good (he is not much on expressing his feelings on food). After dinner we shot some pool. There are 2 smaller tables but there is plenty of room to play. We had a couple of the draft specials and had a great time. There are also some arcade games and a shuffleboard table. Did not go outside, but appeared to be a back deck and a beach volley ball area.
The service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and made sure we were taken care of with being obnoxious.
The people in the tavern are also very friendly and make you feel like a «regular».
The only reason I am not giving Uncle Milf’s a 5 star rating is due to the children in the place. We left because I had the feeling we were in Chucky Cheese. I understand this place is «family friendly». I don’t have a problem with that. However when the children are running around screaming and taking the pool balls and lobbing them across the restaurant, that is alittle much for me.
We will be going back and hopefully the kids there will be much better behaved or at least the parents will attempt to make them.

Oh my! No MILFs to be had in uncle’s tavern. There were some good mussels and wings though. Also some decent wine and cold brews.

We’ve been for dinner and lunch, twice. Love the eclectic atmosphere. There are sorts on the TVs and families with the kids. Food is good and plentiful.

We have driven past this location for years, but had never stayed to eat as it was previously smoky as it is a bar /​restaurant. That problem was remedied with the new state law prohibiting smoking in restaurants.
After noticing the growing crowds and hearing word of mouth buzz growing, we decided to give it a try. We can now be considered «regulars». Although it is a bar, it is family friendly with an extensive kids menu to include some healthy sides as options. Having expected bar food, the menu is one of a complete restaurant offering burgers to complete dinner dishes including grilled fish, pasta dishes, & ribs. You must try their Mahi-​Mahi fish tacos.
They also have a decent wine selection at a fair price.
Atmosphere is very extremely casual yet clean. Lots of big screen TVs.

Off the beaten path, Milfs is really clean and neat. Really nice atmosphere for a laid back time. Food is OK, not spectacular but they do have real dart boards and a nice big screen TV for games.

Any place with a name like Uncle Milf’s has to be interesting, right?
While not spectacular, Milf’s does have character, and its enough to set it apart.
More a pub/​tavern than a restaurant, the overriding theme at Milf’s is that of southern bar.
There’s a sand volleyball court in the back, a couple of pool tables in the main room. Wednesdays are for karaōke and there is live music on Saturdays.
The menu is dominated largely by fried appetizers, wings and burgers, but there are pasta and steak options as well.
The Buffalo Chicky Sammich is tasty.
A big-​screen tv, miniature hand-​propelled shuffleboard, horseshoe pit and dart boards round out the entertainment options.
With a slogan like: «Bring the whole family… just keep an eye on mom!» how can you argue?
