Denny’s

1^st bad experience with Denny’s…hadn’t been here in awhile and I was not thrilled seeing the rating of 90. Service was terrible. too long of a wait on drinks, way too long for food, people that arrived after us were being served their food before us, no offer for refills or checking on us to see how everything was or if we needed anything… had to call waitress over to get the bill and to tell her about a hair in husbands sandwich and his gross celery sticks! So glad when we FINALLY got to go! We weren’t charged for his meal and left 0 tip! Disappointing service on Father’s Day! We are typically very patient customers (guess to a fault this time. we should have left!) and generous tippers but the poor service more than even the hair is what upset us.

I really wish I could give half a star. Came here for Father’s Day and the waitress (tall blonde) took our drink order as soon as we sat down which was great and asked if we were ready to order, never took our order. Watched her walk past us at least 10 times handing out food and taking care of other customers, watched people sit down after us get their order taken and food. Sat there for over 20 minutes and still never had our order taken. She even walked passed us as we packed up our things to leave and still nothing.

Usually I like dennys, and we have waited a little for our food. But today we walked out after 45min. We have never walked out of a restaurant before. Granted it was Father’s Day, but we kept looking to see if they put our food up. We had people sit down after us and leave before we. And the only time we saw our waitress was when she walked by very fast to tell us our food is about ready! Didn’t even refill our waters!
We ordered simple meals. I ordered chicken Fried steak and eggs. Wife ordered pancakes. Son-​in-​law, chicken fried steak and daughter fruit. We waited and I looked up and saw there was nothing sitting in the window. Still no food. That’s when we decided to leave.
Don’t know. If I’ll be going back to this dennys for awhile

Not clean. Staff is friendly. Food is just ok. Very run down and in need of a redo. Dennys menu has gotten pricey since everything is apparently now a big combination. Can’t just get pancakes. Kids menu is very limited. No chocolate chip pancakes, no grilled cheese. Not moving in the right direction — changes are for the worse as far as I am concerned.

The ice creams are amazing…

There are a lot of options and reasonable too. The servers are very polite.
I have been there a number of times. Its a to go place for late night ice creams

Be Prepared for No Service
Walked in tonight and got absolutely no service. I was alone but immediately after that, a part of 10 walked in. We just stood there. Finally I got the attention of the hostess who was just standing by the kitchen entrance
She came over and was not happy I was just a single and asked for a booth. There were plently available but most had not been cleaned from the last patrons and where just sitting there dirty. She seated me in a corner totally out of the way of everyone and gave me a menu and said she would be back as soon as she seated the larger party.
She then seated the party of 10.
10 minutes later, still no one acknowledged my presence so I got up and left.
I passed the hostess on the way out and she said, «I was just coming to take your order» At this point, it had been 10 minutes and less that 30 seconds interaction with anyone.
Not the way to treat customers.
The party of 10 still had only been seated when I left. Wonder if they ever got served.

If you like eating breakfast that’s not cooked to order make a stop at this place. Was here on a Saturday morning 10 min wait for seat that’s fine. When finally seated no waitress appears after waiting almost 10 mins. Asked the hostess to find her. Food took a very long time and when it arrived the two strips of bacon were petite sad things, the two pancakes were like tough old dried out Styrofoam, the eggs were borderline over easy instead of over medium. Sent the cakes back and the new ones were good and they topped off the bacon but this place charges like $ 9 for breakfast when get anything not on the value menu. Once again lol do many better places to eat at that price like the midnight diner in Charlotte or the waffle house next door for cheaper. Another classic case of a chain restaurant using their household name to feed people anything because they think their too big to go under.

Not too shabby for a Denny’s I will say; which is not to say it’s a not-​so-​good chain joint. I’ve eaten at lots and lots of Denny’s, so in my opinion they are all just a tad dive-​y. The REALLY good thing is that the food is always fast, cooked to order, and hot! The service here is just great if not homey and personable.
