Time spent here is worth, kids do enjoy the time. Hay ride was good but had a waiting time of 30 minutes. It’s not far away from ticket counter, so walking is always an option. They have very limited varieties of apples.

I set out to find the perfect location for our wedding, a beach boy & a mountain girl. When I first visited the Quarry at Carrigan Farms I knew instantly this was it! It is breathtakingly beautiful, and the perfect combination of beach meets mountains. Doug & Kelly were so incredible to work with. They truly made the entire event perfect, seamless and stress-free. They have an answer or solution for everything and they work hard to make sure your dream wedding comes true. Not only is the service top notch, the food is fabulous too! We had chicken and pork BBQ with Asparagus, roasted potatoes and corn. It was absolutely perfect! I HIGHLY recommend The Quarry at Carrigan Farms for weddings or any events you may have! Thank you Carrigan Farms for allowing me to have my DREAM wedding become a reality!

Just realized I never wrote an update after a wedding(a year ago). Everything was wonderful. Doug, Kelly and their staff worked with us to give us everything we wanted on our day. We had a welcome party on Thursday night, which was a swim party with hamburgers and hotdogs. This night we had beers available to everyone(we purchased kegs from NoDa Brewery in Charlotte). Everyone had an amazing time jumping off the rocks and swimming into the night. The food was awesome, even burgers and dogs were made to taste special! The next night was the wedding. We added flowers and nicer table cloths and decorations. While the farm provided real silverware this night(because we ordered steak) we still opted for the paper plates. This was a detail I worried about and went back and forth on in my head. Renting plates was a little pricy, I’m glad we went with the paper. They were sturdy and I’m sure no one even remembers that they weren’t china at this point. The food is beyond phenomenal. The steak and chicken were both outstanding. All of the veggies are grown fresh on the farm and tastes so good! My veggie guests were given specially made portabello mushroom steaks, which they said were also fantastic. We served beer, wine and liquor this night for our guests. We provided all the beer and liquor ourselves(huge savings) and they provided the wine, which was very affordable per bottle. We also provided champagne, which was passed out to guests when they arrived for the ceremony, at the gazebo. The boardwalk makes the perfect entrance for the bride on her wedding day. The water and rocks are a gorgeous background for such a special event. We did pay the extra $ 100 or so to have the rocks lit up the night of the wedding. We also had a fireworks display at the wedding. This is something I thought was unique and special, I was very happy we were able to do them. It was also the weekend before the 4th of July, so it was fun for everyone there I think. The fireworks looked so pretty over the water. If you are planning an outdoor Charlotte wedding, please consider Carrigan Farms. You will not be disappointed!

We attended a wedding here, and it was awesome. The scenery is just beautiful, and the set-up was wonderful. When you park in the field, you’re not quite sure what you’re walking to, but then once you’re past the trees, it opens up, and was amazing. Walk down the boardwalk to the beach area for the ceremony, right in front of the quarry they flooded, which provided a great backdrop. The food was all grilled on site, and the fruits and vegetables(I believe) are grown on the farm. Oh, and the food was delicious. Glad we got to enjoy this little gem.

Attended an October wedding at the Quarry! It was gorgeous and a nice covered space for the reception. Just a picturesque place for an outdoor Fall wedding. Easy to find, good parking, a bit of a walk… wear flats.

This review only pertains to the pumpkin patch wing of this farm, as it seems like a fun place to jump in a lake and get married. In short: if you are in a the area drop on by, otherwise get some pumpkins more locally. Not worth the drive from Uptown Charlotte unless you are interested in non-standard pumpkins of different colors(green, white, light orange), shapes(all bendy, squat, small), and textures(warty, smooth, lumpy). Prices are good at $ 0.50/pound. TIP1: Bring gloves! Pumpkin stems – as it turns out – are somewhat thorny. If you plan on picking your own pumpkin from the field, you’ll have to pull it from the vine and carry it with you. This will hurt. No gloves? Maybe some sandpaper would help. TIP2: Check all sides and the bottom of the pumpkin for soft spots to prevent premature rotting. After the 40 minute drive from downtown Charlotte, I was a little underwhelmed. Entering the farm, you are greeted with a great wall of pumpkins-a large semi-circle staked 2 – 4 pumpkins tall. The Farm itself is nice and looks just like a farm should: nice home with a field in the back. There were tractors, wagons, and other farmy machinery around. Inspecting the pumpkins from the wall yield many potential pumpkins; however, some of them had soft spots indicating rot. Almost got one or two until I checked twice. Your car is not the place to find out that your pumpkin is leaking or falling apart. Roaming the field is fun, but be prepared for spiky stems and wipe off dirt to check for damaged goods. We got a bag of their ‘red delicious’ apples. They look good, but upon taking a bite and they had that grainy texture to them and a little too soft. I am not a fan. Overall, we got some pumpkins – including a funky looking green one), but really wasn’t worth the trip from Uptown.

Carrigan Farms has been around for YEARS! Pumpkins, strawberries & a rock quarry… oh my! The rock quarry is where it’s at for weddings or other special gatherings. My only bad thing is the use of porta-johns. Seriously?! Please, build a restroom facility. :). There’s a nice shelter by the pond, where they have open swimming(which I will not partake in). The picturesque backdrop is perfect for brides & grooms in the spring /summer /fall.

Had my dream wedding here at Carrigan Farms! This is truly the most beautiful place hidden off the beaten path out in Mooresville. I had originally found out about Carrigan Farms when my sister had her rehearsal dinner here back in 2006. She had a tropical themed dinner in the evening and the delicious shish kabobs were an amazing delight for dinner. If you are a bride and want to make a lasting impression on your guests then this is your place. We had chairs for 100 set up on the beach area overlooking the quarry and because of rain the night before the reception tables were under the covered pavilion. The grass was still pretty moist to place 10 tables and 100 chairs on. The bride is able to prepare and get ready in a tiny little cottage by the parking area. When the time comes to walk down the«aisle,» prepare yourself for a long, wooden pier to show off your beautiful dress. It was one of my favorite parts of the day… the long walk to my wedding while everyone watched. After a short ceremony my new husband and I went and took pictures out in the farm area while our guests enjoyed a cocktail hour. Once the reception started the food was ready, my husband said he had the best steak ever that night and I heard a lot of guests say how amazing the food was. They prepare all the food on site for you! The event staff was professional, attentive and flawless. I wish I could relive this day over and over, but I’ll always have the memories. Only one flaw to some, but didn’t bother me… No working bathrooms. We decided against renting mobile bathrooms and went with the standard Porter Johns on site. I didn’t have to use them but I was told they were clean and had air fresheners! At least they tried! Carrigan Farms is a beautiful venue for any occasion, pumpkin picking, office gathering, family reunion or a beautiful wedding! WELOVEDOURSPECIALDAY!

I went with a group of friends to open swim at Carrigan Farm’s swimming quarry. It was phenomenal! The grounds are beautiful and the swimming quarry is very picturesque. There are large rocks surrounding the water — perfect for jumping off — and a nice dock in the middle to relax and enjoy. It felt like we discovered some kind of secret swimming hole paradise! There is a sand beach area above the quarry that includes a volleyball court. Speakers surround and play some nice tunes while you hang and play volleyball. A favorite was also the farm’s dog, Murphy, who jumped in the water after balls and was all around friendly. Great spot for anyone looking to while away a summer day. Open swim is $ 10 and only open certain days so check the website for availability.

Really enjoyed the pumpkin patch hayride, an offering for the month of October. You check in and get a sticker, then wait for your wagon while sampling an exquisite apple cider(not brewed at Carrigan, but was brewed at an in-state orchard). Hop on the wagon, stop and pet some ADORABLEFARMANIMALS and then take a stroll over to the pumpkin patch. Ride the wagon back to the start, drink more cider and eventually decide to buy a gallon of it because it’s that good. The staff was quite friendly, it’s just a nice little place to go. Your kids will squeal with delight when they see the animals, and everybody gets a pumpkin. I think it was 8 bucks a head.

Great fun with the family. Really enjoyed a great group outing. Food was fantastic and the Quarry was so much fun to canoe and swim in.
