If you are an old fart like me, you can remember when you went to the Sub Shoppe in Maple Shade and asked for a cheese steak hoagie and they knew what you were talking about. At Mikes, I had to tell them what it was. The old Sub Shoppe would peel off a bunch of steak from the pile sitting there, throw it on the grill and make you a cheese steak that filled you up. Mikes is like most«sub shops» around today, just pulls out the pre portioned amount of steak and cheese and makes your sandwich. The sandwich was good, but I would have liked a bit more inside. Sandwich and a bottle of tea, just shy of $ 10. When I was a teenager, $ 1.50.(told you I was old) :-) Mikes sure beats the Tony Lukes, I went to the other night. Stay away from that place. PS: Just found out the Sub Shoppe still exists in Maple Shade. Next time, that’s where I go. Hope the Mexicans haven’t taken over.

Unfortunately, this Jersey Mike’s is the closest one to my house at about 30 minutes away. Whenever I find myself heading north on the turnpike or 295, I find myself making a little detour to get a #9(roast beef, turkey, Swiss, and bacon) Mike’s Way(oil, vinegar, spices, lettuce, tomato, mayo) hold the onions. Every time I pull into the parking lot I tell myself I am going to order something different, but end up at the front of the line and my standby order comes out. The nice thing is people often get out of my way since I am muttering to myself as I walk across the parking lot. I find the workers at this location to be inordinately friendly, which is always a nice touch. Even though Jersey Mike’s is a chain, they make legit sandwiches — give them a shot. There are lots of choices in and around East Gate, but you can’t go wrong with Jersey Mike’s.

1. The staff is awesomely friendly. That’s why they get 5 stars. 2. They call them subs not hoagies for some reason. 3. The bread is sort of bland. Soft. Not chewy enough. 4. If you get a cold cut type hoagie then get it mikes way. 5. The best thing on the menu is the cheesesteak. 6. I do think this is better than subway. Comparable to slacks. Better than primos. 7. Lots of parking. Lots of tv’s.

Jersey Mike’s is always a safe bet and a regular stop for me when I am in this neck of the woods. I always find the JM staff to be very pleasant and the«subs» never disappoint. The shop is always bright and clean with great easy to read menu signage and cool vibrantly colored beach themed graphics. My go-to is the #10 with provolone cheese and banana peppers, made«Mike’s Way». The Tuna is made fresh on the premises and is a major score when teamed up with the oil/vinegar, lettuce, tomato, onions and spices. The bread is also made fresh on-site and is very good. If I audible out of the #10, I go with the #9 Club Supreme(roast beef, turkey, bacon, Swiss and mayo) and have them make it MW. They currently only have a handful of locations in South Jersey(many in central and north) and one in Philadelphia but have over 1300 total. They are rapidly expanding which means we will probably see more in southeastern PA soon. Looking forward to my next #10!

Nothing special. They make a decent quick sandwich. Online ordering is easy. The menu only has a few pre-built options and they lack many topping options. They weren’t accommodating when I asked for dry tuna. They said there was no tuna in the store that was not already pre-mixed. The only other option close by to the mall area is Subway.

Came here for the first time today, and cannot wait to go back. I came in with low expectations thinking it was going to be like Subway, but it was much better. I had their Baja Chicken wrap which was very good!

Jersey Mike’s is a really legit place to get a hoagie or cheesesteak in South Jersey. There, I said it. It pains me to say it, but it’s true. As a Philadelphian to the core, I’ve always been taught that the best sandwiches come from Philly, and really not to bother with anything outside of Philly, no matter how good their food claims to be. This proves untrue with Jersey Mike’s. I’ve been eating here for a while since I work in the area, and I’ve found their sandwiches to be nothing but fresh and consistent. I like that they slice the meat to order for all of their hoagies(I refuse to call it a sub), and«Mike’s Way» is always the best way. I’m also a fan of their cheesesteaks. The chipotle cheesesteak is my favorite. It’s basically a cheesesteak with fried onions and peppers, slathered with some really delicious chipotle mayo. I like to get a little wild, so I add jalapenos to mine as well. I love that they have online ordering, so it makes it a really quick, easy lunch option. I can just run in, give them my name and I’m on my way. The folks who work there are always really pleasant, too.

This place is clean and service is quick. I much prefer this over Subway or Wawa. They give a generous amount of meat and cheese. And I like to get it «Mike’s Way» with lettuce, tomatoes, onion, vinegar and spices. I get the regular size sandwich by itself and I am full after.

I mean, it’s a chain sandwich shop. It’s like Subway, but better. It’s like Primo, but not better. It’s alright in a pinch. Now, if you’re a Jersey native living in North Carolina and pining for Jersey, then you may have a different idea. During my Carolina year, I was one obsessed college freshman. But Jersey Mike’s in Jersey? It’s just not the same! Plus, dude. I made a funny joke and the sandwich-maker didn’t laugh. I was ordering an Italian hoagie, and my cousin ordered a chicken parm sub. The girl at the counter called a guy up from the back to make the Italian while she readied the chicken parm, so when he appeared, he looked at my cousin and I for guidance on the sandwich guts. «I’m the Italian,» I announced, quickly adding, «Well, technically we’re both Italian… ha-ha-haaa…» Yeah. No laughs from the kid. Laugh at my dumb joke, guy! LAUGH. Smile! Sigh. … On that note, Jersey Mike’s is average, but good, but average.

So I will start this review with a statement that I heard through the grapevine. In summary the statement was that Jersey Mike’s is comparable to Primo Hoagies as far as subs, hoagies, sandwiches whatever you want to call them go. Let me just say that Jersey Mike’s is nothing like Primo Hoagies, so with that being said it is important to appreciate Mike’s for what it is. Mike’s is very similar to the Subway method of ordering. You walk up to the counter, pick a sandwich from the board, and tell them what you want on the sandwich. I went with a turkey and provolone sub — Mike’s way — which is onions, lettuce, tomato, oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper(I went sans tomato). As far as price, cleanliness of the restaurant, and the pleasantness of the employees go, Mike’s is pretty good. Now as far as sandwich quality goes, I was not too impressed. Although they use Thumann meats, which are good quality, I was utterly disappointed by the bread. It was soft, not crusty, nor sturdy and didn’t add any bite to the sandwich. I finished my sandwich but was not full, nor really that satisfied. Maybe I’m biased because I will admit that I feel like a hard roll with a soft center is the centerpiece of any good sandwich. I also just can’t help but feel that Jersey Mike’s is a bad representation of what subs/hoagies are supposed to be in New Jersey. If soft bread is your thing, than maybe you will be a fan. All I can say is that the next time I am craving a sandwich, Mike’s will not be at the top of my list.

When I initially walked in, I felt a little pressured when prompted to order by the facial expressions on the employees faces– I kind of felt of a nuissance to them by not knowing exactly what I wanted to get when I walked in. I ended up getting the buffalo chicken wrap which was mediocre. It wasnt the best wrap I have had but it was definatelly fufilling for lunch. One thing that I wasn’t too pleased with was the price for the quality. I got a bottled water and like I said a mediocre wrap for just over $ 10.00(not even a side of chips). I would not put Jersey Mike’s next to Primo’s as Primo’s blows them out of the water. I would say Jersey Mike’s is an upgrade to Subway restaurants.

My roast beef sandwich was good but not great. i made my own customization to the Jersey Mike style condiments with a red pepper spread and mayo, great decision versus the traditional vinegar and oil. But i digress, and i will justify my 3 star rating. The roll was mediocre and the atmosphere was extremely fast pace, I couldn’t understand what the people behind the counter were saying, discouraging because i didnt want to make a wrong gesture or comment and then me eating my words(no pun intended). The significance of Jersey Mikes are the fresh cuts of meat and cheese applied to your sandwich. Consequently, i would not return.

I work near this place and go there frequently. The manager there knows me by name and never fails to greet me as soon as I walk in. The food is great and they never mess up an order. I have sampled almost everything on their menu and have never been disappointed. Would highly recommend. Will continue eating here.

One of the best cheesesteaks outside of Philly. Definitely better than Pats. Not as good as Jims and others. I liked the green and red peppers but I’d omit them to be more authentic.

Violation!!! They are«HOAGIES» not«SUBS» First off any place that calls them«Subs» and not«Hogies make me double think why I would even eat here!!! Reminds me of Subway or Quizzno’s! This place doesn’t even compare close to Primos, Lee’s, Slacks, Sklyers, Franco’s or even Wawa. Don’t waste your money on a «Sub» they are not hoagies!!! The Rolls are like they are from like the midwest or subway! they are not authentic(Philly/SJ) hoagie rolls like you get the other place I mentioned. Meats are not good!

Not very impressed with the sandwiches. For the prices, I was hoping for better quality. I would rather go to Primo Hoagies or Cacia Bakery for a better hoagie. Definitely a small portion is perfect for a meal. Just alright — I will go elsewhere. Nothing to brag about.

While jonsing for a cheesesteak sandwich the other day, I spotted out of the corner of my eye Jersey Mikes and decided to stop in. Good choice. Its a tiny little spot, but the sandwiches pack a punch. My cheesesteak was delicious. Its a bit pricey, and you better have an appetite, as your only options are regular(9 inch?) and jumbo(12 inch?) but they are so good, you shouldn’t have a problem taking it down. Side note too, the young lady behind the counter at this particular place is gorgeous, so you get a dessert with your meal.
