On the advice of a local in Tony’s Flea Market we tried this restaurant after being told it was only one of three in the area. As it turns out that isn’t true, but we are always looking for family owned local yokel restaurants and this one fit that description. My husband had the liver and onions with a salad. He said the salad was cold and fresh and he enjoyed the food. I had a bowl of fresh homemade vegetable soup. It tasted very much like Campbell’s to me, but I guess it is homemade even if you add Campbell’s soup as an ingredient. It was hot and it was edible. I also ordered a hot dog. It came on a fresh bun. Not sure that it was cooked as it looked pretty much like it just came out of a package of all meat dogs. Wasn’t even warm. I probably should have asked if it was cooked, but then again I didn’t order it cooked…(sarcasm) wouldn’t stop here again but probably won’t be back to Moorefield W Va again. Waitress was pleasant.

We stopped here on a trip to Canaan Valley for some skiing. On the pro side, you cannot beat the prices. It cost less for my family of 4 to eat here than McDonalds. That being said, the food was not good. I had the chicken salad sandwich and it hand virtually no flavor. My wife had a ham and cheese sandwich which was also very ordinary. My daughter had the chili cheese fries with synthetic tasting cheese sauce. Service was extremely slow and the waitress was condescending. Décor is extremely old giving the place very little atmosphere. If you stop in Moorefield, my recommendation is McDonalds.

Four stars for Moorefield — not a big city. We came in after finding Oneils closed. It was just after breakfast hours but we wanted breakfast so the cook agreed to make it for us. I had an omelette and it was really good and my boyfriend enjoyed his food as well. Nice waitress too.

After finding O’neill’s closed, we stumbled into Colt’s. We weren’t expecting much, Colt’s appeared to be a run-of-the-mill small-town restaurant. I had«fried cod fillet» which turned out to be bland, store-bought from the frozen food section(think: cheap fishsticks). It came with a side of «baby baker potatoes» which were good. The salad was awful. The restaurant was nearly empty aside from a few families in one corner. Why we were sat between them and their table-to-table conversation, I can’t imagine. Though, I didn’t especially mind. Somewhat overpriced, bad food with unfriendly service. Avoid this place.
