Shape Fitness

This is a small gym in comparison to the other gyms that I have had memberships with. It is a 24 hour gym and I like that very much. We like to go in the mornings because most of the time my husband and I will have it to ourself. The equipment seems all used second hand equipment with no warranty attached to them. So in the event any of the machines break down they dont get repaired quickly. I have never had any issues with the equipment I use, the elliptical trainer. The treadmills may or may not work, you just have to try them out and see which one is working that day. The displays or monitors on the equipment dont always work. There are lots of free weights, benches for the body builder and stationary weight machines. There are two locker rooms each for the mens and the ladies, but they have one bathroom and one shower. From what I have seen the ladies bathroom is clean. And I have never had to wait on the use of the bathroom in the event I hit the wall. I have never needed the shower as I live very close to the facility. They typically have kids working the front and I notice that the trash cans dont get dumped everyday. And from time to time there is no paper towels in all the dispensers so I cant wipe down the equipment. I have to go searching for paper towels and cleaning solution. I always wipe down equipment that I use BEFORE I use it! I have had memberships to five star gyms with the newest equipment, this isnt that kind of gym but I feel it helps me accomplish my weight loss goals. It feels like an extension of my own home. Its comfortable and I am able to do what I need to do to work out successfully. I am not standing around waiting on the use of equipment, however I am not there around evening time when that is more probable to occur. Sometimes the music choice is a bit on the disgusting side, but Im sure thats up to whoever was in charge the day before of the satellite channels.
Most gyms membership or memberships to anything will always automatically renew if you do not cancel the membership at the end of that two years. I have not been at this gym for a full two years, but being aware of that in almost every contract I have signed I know that if I do not want to continue my membership for another two years I will need to sign a contract ending that contract…
I would recommend this gym but then again its kind of small so I dont recommend it because it doesnt need anymore people during the morning time. I like my peace and quiet. And with it being 24 hours, you can come up here any time of day! Cant sleep at 2 AM, go to the gym. Plus I know several in the emergency medical field that utilize that 24 hour option to get their work out in.

My wife got a membership for my son who goes to school close to the gym, the problem is that the gym continues to take money out of your account after your membership is terminated. Also it’s been impossible for us to get them to turn it off because there finance office is a separate entity: we might have to close our bank account after banking there for 25 years to stop this madness. I suggest you pay cash upfront. But don’t trust them with your bank account. They will write themselves checks every month unto kingdom come.

This started out as a nice gym but since being a member for over 3 years. The equipment has gone down hill. I go on and off and every time I have tried to use the same treadmill because it is the only one of 3 that has a TV/​distance display that works. So for over a month I ran on this same treadmill it has clanked loudly and draws lot of attention to the runner. Not good if you are trying to discreetly work out. Also a lot of the dumbbells are not tightened on the ends so the plates will either wobble or spin crazily. And lastly some benches will go a while with cracks in the material before getting fixed.
There used to be some loud meatheads that banged the weights and liked to scream. But I assume that management ran them off so that is one positive.
