We had Norman shutters placed in our family room, breakfast nook and patio door about 5 years ago. Wanted to finish off the rest of the house, 13 regular size windows and one oversize window. After having another national brand come out and give us an OUTRAGEOUS estimate, I researched Norman Shutters again and found New View Blinds. Ray was professional and knowledgeable. We chose to go with faux wood blinds in the basement(4 windows) and rest of the house with 4″ plantation shutters to match the family room and breakfast area. So HAPPY with them! We were supposed to have removed the old blinds, but I was sick in bed when Ray came to install the blinds for the basement, he offered to take down the old blinds and install the new ones and let me go back to bed. When I woke up later, he installed and cleaned up his work area! He didn’t even charge me for removing the old blinds. Shutters came later and John installed these. Very professional and courteous. John was here for over 5 hours but never complained. He added some caulking where there was some light leaking where the shutters and window frames didn’t quite meet… I didn’t see what he noticed, before caulking, until he pointed this out to me. Again, went out his way just like Ray. If you have any doubts about Norman Shutters vs the other GIANT brand name, go with Norman Shutters with New View Blinds and Ray and his team. My 5 year old shutters still look just as the same as the ones that were just installed and the old shutters are in DIRECT south facing sun, no discoloring or warping yet. So happy with the product and service from New View Blinds.

We moved in to a home and needed some blinds. We contacted New View and set up an appointment for a house call. Ray brought sample books and it was easy to choose the accordion blinds I wanted. They have lots of different options for window treatments but I wanted the accordion blinds. There were many colors to choose from, it was nice to be able to remove the sample from the book so we could hold it up next to the paint on the wall. The order came in exactly when they said it would. Ray completed the installation and we are so happy with the new blinds. The quality is great. I looked through the sample books while he was at the house and learned that these blinds also come in black-out materials. We may do that in the bedroom at a later date.

Ray and his team did an AMAZINGJOB helping us select and purchase plantation shutters for our new home. Ray is an expert and listened to what we wanted to accomplish in our home. He gave us straight answers and truly had our best interest in mind with his recommendations. He was on time, communicated well and the entire experience was wonderful! His installer was fantastic too! Tom came and measured, called when the shutters arrived and not only installed our shutters beautifully but educated us on how to operate and maintain them. We shopped these with several companies and decided to work with New View as they are family owned and operated. We would HIGHLYRECOMMEND New View Blinds & Shutters to anyone wanting to make this investment in their home!

1÷21÷13 update: Have received response and parts needed to fix shutters and moved rating to 4. Want to give New View credit as they have now handled an escalated situation effectively. 11÷15÷13 update: This is an updated post, as I’ve at least heard back from New View at this point, but took a message similar to below to get a response. Again not trying to be too critical as these are very nice and professional people, just disappointing when its so hard to get service when you need it. Original post: Very disappointed post install. We spent near $ 10K with new view on wooden shutters for the entire house. The sales and installation experience was great. It is now 2 years later, supposedly these have a lifetime warranty, and I’ve called and e-mailed as I need help with one of my shutters and no response as of 3 weeks. I normally don’t get this critical, but when you spend this kind of money and need help on something simple, I’d expect a courtesy call back to say no or give us a timeline on when they can service us. At this point I will not accept service from New View and won’t use in the future.
