I like this place due mainly to the convenience of its location. The sushi that is prepared fresh is always good. I’m not a real fan of anything else here. I came in today to place a to go order. A couple of other people did the same. But they brought all of our orders out at once. That is not cool. So my order was just sitting back there waiting on the others. And it got confusing when we are all trying to figure out who’s is who’s. Not cool.

We ordered an avocado roll. It was really good. Really fresh and tightly rolled! We also ordered spring rolls and rangoons. Both were soggy and tasted somewhat frozen. They were not fresh. I got Kung pao chicken. It was not good. It was loaded down with big mushrooms. They were slimy, as was the chicken. See the pic I posted. The flavor was absent. The dish was worse than most mall Chinese food. The chicken was actually really low quality. My fiancé got the general tso’s chicken. It was also bland, and the chicken was chewy. The fried rice was pretty good. It was fresh and not oily. I would not go back here.

Pretty good and definitely welcome in a tiny town like Monument. The sushi rolls were very tasty, although not rolled very well and apt to fall apart. I enjoy the décor inside the restaurant and our waiter was friendly and patient with us despite having 2 children along. Hope to come back and try the hibachi sometime. The only reason I didn’t give this place 4 stars is that it can’t compare to some sushi restaurants in larger cities; but overall I really enjoyed this place.

The franchised culinary wasteland that is Colorado Springs inevitably creates low expectations and a resignation to the powers of mediocrity. Having said that I always like to support local, home-grown, independent restaurants. I was initially excited to have a sushi place nearby in Monument, but after three attempts I have to say good bye. Yes, I gave it 3 shots which is generous for me. For those of you who follow me you know I rarely give a second chance let alone a third but I was really wanting this place to work. Two problems — forgettable food and horrible service. All three times and get this, I had to get up from my table to find someone either in the beginning to give my order, during the meal for a refill or after for the check. There always seems to be staff milling about but none seem to be alert or paying attention to guests. Sadly, I will save my significant sushi cravings for a trip out to LA, SF or Seattle. 1 star service, 2 stars food and I’m being kind.

Very disappointing experience last night. Waiter didn’t listen to our request of no mushrooms. Soup and entre came with mushrooms. STRIKE1 Cook did not provide the usual entertaining experience while cooking. He was fairly disengaged and didn’t seem to want to be there. STRIKE2 Vegetables were undercooked. Cook was in a hurry to get to next table and served us practically raw onions. STRIKE3 Drink refill service was bad. Waiter was rude and took a lot of effort to get his attention. STRIKE4. When you pay $ 230 for family members dinner as a Xmas present you expect better food and service than McDonald’s . I will drive the 45 miles to Denver next time I want a Hibachi meal.

This is one of our favorite places. Salads, soups, and sushi! Their ginger dressing on the house salad is great, the egg drop soup is yummy. Sushi; we love crazy girl rolls and Philadelphia rolls, we usually get those 2 and a couple others. Service is great.

They don’t know how to make a martini. Though there are several on the menu. Sushi was ok, dinner was fine. Nothing outstanding. Extra side of vegetables was overpriced. Curry good, but hot! Be prepared for that. Didn’t try the Hibatchi table.

Was not impressed. Generals chicken tasted like blan orange chicken even when I got a dish of extra got sauce, didn’t help. My guy got chicken teriyaki wasn’t any better. Besides poor chicken and bad sauce the bill was on the higher side.

For delivery: horribly slow. Takes 90 minutes and I only live 7 min away from them, and they often forget the rice or soup that comes with the entrée. Avoid the teriyaki chicken, which tastes as if it were boiled and then brushed with bland sauce. Sushi is pretty good and I especially like the Thai curry dishes. Prices could be better but aren’t totally unreasonable. Definitely better in the restaurant

Good Sushi but pricey, if you get delivery expect the sushi to be half the size of what you get in the restaurant. the Hibachi side is ok, typical hibachi, you get shrimp thrown at you, heart beat fried rice, the choo choo volcano onion… you know :)

I like this sushi place for their 2 roll lunch special. Comes with ginger-dressing salad & miso soup $ 8. You really can not beat the price. They are no longer affiliated with Mt Fuji in castle rock. I like Fuji Mt better. Excellent Kani or seaweed(wakame)salad. The spicy tuna or spicy salmon rolls are less mixed and salad like, than say Mt Fuji .I like eel alvacado rolls instead of eel cucumber and they were happy to subsitute. The pink walls and art glass décor is contemporary & soothing. Nice variety on the sake menu. Full bar. The also offer yakatori, though I have only tried the sushi. The restaurant is near Wal mart off the baptist rd exit south of Monument.

We took our kids here and we all really had a good time. The boys really enjoyed the experience. The food was good all around, but fairly typical of a hibachi – nothing to stand out. The chef was entertaining, which was a big hit with our sons. The sushi was also good, but not great. The service side was stronger than the food, but no complaints with the food either.

Food was very good, service was a little slow. Hibachi chef was excellent, great sense of humor.

The only reason why I’m giving this place 1 start is because that’s the lowest I can rate. The service was horrible, we waited a good 20 minutes before even ordering our entry, the rice on all our sushi rolls(it was 8 people) was undercooked… really hard and crunchy. Then we were told we would get a discount for it, which we didn’t. And to top it off, the waiter decided to add 20% tip to everyone’s check… I don’t usually have negative things to day about sushi restaurants but this was an overall bad experience. I would not recommend this spot to anyone.

This place was simply AMAZING!!! The service, the food, the atmosphere everything was fantastic! If I lived closer I would deff eat here more often. I went on Valentine’s Day, we needed a reservation to sit at the hibachi table so we sat in a booth instead(same food minus the show) but the experience was still delightful and quick.

The food is two stars; the service/delivery is four stars. My boyfriend really likes this place, but I think he’s got Stockholm syndrome.(He lives in Monument and I’m an occasional visitor from a city with actually good food — Portland, OR). The nigiri’s okay, but the rolls are pretty terrible. And there’s random other Asian food on the menu. How can you take a Japanese place seriously when you can also get sweet and sour chicken and Thai red curry at the same place? On the other hand, this is down the street from his apartment and pretty much the only sushi game in town. And their delivery is solid. So we come here when we want sushi and we don’t want to drive to somewhere actually good.

We have been to Mt Fuji several times. This night out there was 8 of us for the Hibachi. Everything was ok until the so called«chef» showed up to cook. He was terrible right out of the gate, but it ended up being much worse. Long story short, he ended up burning my wife and in laws with hot water and grease. It was a poorly trained person who was working the Hibachi and he was cleaning the grill and splashed my family. The next part was almost as bad when the«manager“said he would comp 2 meals and a 20% discount. It was beyond insulting and he was adamant that they had insurance and that we could go to the doctor. I have never experienced anything like this. We just want to warn others and let you know what kind of people are running this place. We will never go back there. Ever.

I have made it to this place about 4 times so far. I have had the sushi 2 of those times. The other 2 times I had Chinese and Pad Thai. All the times service has been good and food is great too. I would say that they are a little high in my humble opinion. Fellow Unilocalers I would say this place deserves to be visited if your up here in Monument. They also deliver!

Fuji Mt. has been open for maybe about two years. We should have gone sooner. I didn’t know how a sushi restaurant in a stripmall in Monument would be but we were really surprised. They do NOT have a happy hour for sushi rolls which is a shame, but there are daily specials on drinks, wine and cocktails(see my photo). The specialty rolls were great! The basic roll I had(can’t remember which) was rather bland. The tip I have for the business: open your blinds at night! You have a good looking place but no one would ever know that driving by. Guarantee that you’d be busier if you opened the blinds.

I’ve only had the hibachi menu, but it was as good as any hibachi grill you’ve been to before. The cooks ate energetic, funny, put on a good show and equally good eats. Try the squid instead of the usual beef or chicken.
