My wife and I tried DeVine Grill for the first(and last) time tonight. My wife ordered a Chicken Avocado sandwich. The chicken had a bad taste like it had been cooked on a dirty grill or next to hamburgers. I ordered the Bison meatloaf. It was served in a blob of greasy mashed potatoes. It was not meatloaf. It was a series of two or three burger patties. I couldn’t tell if it was bison or beef. It was obvious that the meat had been grilled not baked. I think the gravy was made on the grill from the grease from the burger patties. It was so greasy I couldn’t eat the potatoes. When I questioned the waitress about the meat she blathered on about a special recipe to keep it gluten free… really! I love meatloaf– this was NOT meatloaf. The place was loud and clattery. Service was not good. My wife saw the gray haired person we think was the owner drinking a shot of liquor with people at the next table! I don’t see how this place will ever make it.

I’d been meaning to hit this place since moving to the area, but their business hours are all over the map depending on where you look: their website has one schedule, Unilocal has another, and on the phone today(Thursday) they gave me completely different hours for today reflected in neither source. Either way I found out they were open and decided to check it out. No negative reviews since March, right? :-) The aesthetic is nice, the interior is comfortable and nicely carpeted with solid wood furnishings. The patio has a lot of seriously heavy wrought iron chairs, which seem mismatched to the inside but not drastically. Based on this first experience, however, the classification as a gastropub might be a bit premature given that they seem to be in transition *to* a gastropub. The menu is interesting, and even though they’re missing hot wings and seem to put mushrooms in a quite a few dishes(ew), it’s varied and has some creative offerings. Needs to be spellchecked though, there is no reason a professional eatery should be misspelling words like onion, fried, rueben, sashimi, vinaigrette, avocado, gyro, bangers, fettuccine, chipotle, scampi, or quinoa. Then again the spelling in the Unilocal reviews of this place is rather atrocious so far also, perhaps something in the water here? The service was friendly as all get-out and very personable. The food arrived in fairly short order and was extremely tasty all around. Good quality beef, even in the kids’ burgers, and I love that they use fresh jalapenos in the Kai Burger, HELLYES. I will definitely be back to check out more of the options, might be piling on another star.

Colorado Springs is a dead town for foodies and as a New Yorker in exile I suffer greatly. Happy to discover DeVine. Great local spot with predictably friendly staff and great food. Order anything but make sure you get the green pork chile. Seriously, I would go to war over it. So good! Had the bison meatloaf with double veggies which were perfectly steamed. Say hi to Steve the owner. Yes a real live owner in a town that is otherwise franchise hell. Alice, our favorite Monument server now works here so we will be coming here a lot!!! 5 stars great staff, great food!

My wife and I ate there tonight. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Dinner salad was very good. Wife said tomatoe soup was also. I had bison meatloaf. Portion was appropriate, meatloaf very good, veggies cooked just right(for me anyway) not too crispy, not took too mushy. Mashed potatoes just the way I like them. The only thing a little off was it could have used a little more gravy. My wife had Caribbean chicken & shrimp linguine. She said it was very good, but like me would like a little more sauce/gravy. The prices were a little high but not too bad for dinner. 40 bucks with tip and no alcoholic drinks. Atmosphere was very nice. We’ll go back, but probably for lunch since we’re on a budget(retired).

One of our go to places in the area. The best summertime place to sit outside and have a beer and enjoy the view. And great food to boot.

This is our 3rd time as a family for breakfast after church. Our last time(this last Sunday) was the worst. I was hoping it would get better, but utterly failed. The first was their waitstaff, which was a girl who was completely inappropriately dressed. While trying to shield my children’s eyes, I continued to get a draft of an odor coming from the bathroom conveniently located next to the kitchen. All in all, it just seemed dirty, which would bring me to my next point. I had biscuits and gravy with a couple eggs over hard. I came upon instant food poisoning, and could only assume it was because the food was spoiled or prepared with dirty hands/utensils. Monument is in need of a solid breakfast restaurant with great food and great service!

I love this place. Excellent service. The food was great! My server was wonderful and ever so pleasant! I felt so at home and comfortable here. I requested a meal that was not on the menu and it came out super fast, was fresh and it tasted great! I also had their house soup — OMG — it was wonderful! I almost licked the bowl! I eat out a lot and all over at all types of places. For the service, atmosphere, price and quality, this establishment is doing a wonderful job. I love the décor and artwork. They have a warm cozy fireplace too. One thing that is priceless is that they make you feel right at home — more like you are at a friends house for a nice home cooked meal. Everyone should come here more often!

Was so hoping this place would be great. Monument needs to have more local, non chain options. Anyway, we have been here 3 times. The first was OK. Average food, decent service. The second time was better, although the place was empty on a Saturday night which was a bit odd. We did have great service and had some fun with the band that was there. Our last visit was pretty bad. The food for our party of 4 came out at all different times. One of us would get a refill, while another sat with an empty glass, the food was not good. Then we realized the staff was partaking at the bar… Yes, even owner/chef. Doing shots while serving was definitely taking its toll. Thinking back, the wait staff was drinking on that«fun» Saturday night with the band, too. They need to raise the bar. They need to put service before self indulgence. They need to build an atmosphere and really get their recipes and food to a consistent level. Their former daytime eatery, Shani’s, was very good. It will take some work to appease the nighttime/dinner crowd. They have a long way to go, but we really hope for success!

Food is a major disappointment, ordered crab wontons and crab cakes. I expect crab wontons to be imitation but never crab cakes. The crab wontons were greasy and served with cocktail sauce which does not go together, try a sweet chili sauce and put the wontons on paper towels before serving to absorb the grease. As for the crab cakes, start over completely. The crab cake would not even stay together due to not enough binding agent and the reading was not even mixed well. If you cannot afford real crab(even canned would be better) then take off the menu as they were not even editable, hot imitation crab is terrible! The aioli for the crab cakes was an attempt at best to doctor up mayonnaise. Wine list and beer list is good and the wait staff was very nice. As for the décor, the aged carpet needs to be removed as it is just gross, try some tile. I try to support all of our local establishments and this was our third time there and strike 3 until I hear some changes have been made, sorry.

I have to say I am a little perplexed by the past ratings. Maybe some changes have been made since they were written. I went there last night to meet a friend who lives in Monument so I didn’t check the reviews and I’m glad I didn’t. The cook(owner?) made me a sandwich that wasn’t on the menu. It was similar to a Reuben but with jalapeños. I thought it was delicious. It had a more than adequate amount of pastrami and the bread(rye), lettuce and jalapeños were very fresh. The side Caesar had homemade rye croutons that were very good. The wait staff and bartender were very friendly as was the cook(owner?). I came by the next morning to… er… «bite the dog back» so I didn’t eat but I looked at the breakfast food and it looked great. I’m not sure I agree with the review that says it has an identity crisis. The décor is cohesive and fits with the menu. It reminds me of nice little«19th hole» type restaurants that are attached to golf courses. I think this is a cool little neighborhood restaurant and the kind of small business I think should be supported. Give it a try, especially if you are a local, and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Martinis are great and the staff is super friendly, but the food is intensely subpar. The shrimp puffs are Grands! Biscuits with cream cheese and diced shrimp; the crab cakes are just about the same recipe; and if you order a burger medium well, it comes out medium rare. This place needs some immediate food improvements if it’s going to succeed. And I hope it does, because it really could be a fun new local hangout.

This place gets an A for effort. They are clearly trying. I feel the same way as an earlier reviewer, this place is in its infancy. They are on the cusp of needing more staff to keep up but still needs to be cautious to not over staff. The ahi fish tacos were great. They could use a bit more flare but like I said this place is still new. They have a full bar, great vview, and outdoor wind– blocked seating. I’ll keep supporting them as they grow because I think they can grow from«pretty good» to great with time.

This restaurant is in a convenient location with plenty of parking. This place has a decent size seating area. There is an outdoor area that has small tables and chairs. The outdoor area is protected by a plexiglass type wall and offers great views of Mt Herman. The menu is diverse and offers a lot of fish options. We ordered the mahi-mahi and the prime rib. The fish was moist and seemed pretty fresh. The prime rib was decent. The presentation of the mahi-mahi was good. The prime rib plate looked a bit plain as if I just got it from a Las Vegas buffet line. Overall the food was good. The food came out a little slow, but the server explained that they had messed up the fish, so they had to redo it. At least they were honest. The service at this restaurant was great. The server was super nice and my drink glass never went empty. She was the only server and the place had about 7 full tables when we ate. The prices were reasonable. This restaurant needs to find its image and refine their dishes before it takes off. I think this place has good potential for the residents of Monument. I hope this place is able to improve and survive because Monument needs more local flavors.

We’ve been here twice now and it’s not bad. It’s a bar with an identity crisis and a lot of growing to do. Given time to mature it might be a great spot.

Nice to have another local place. So far been here twice it’s just average. Will give it one more try now that they have their liquor license. Only hope the food improves.
