The inside is what counts The Helen Lehmann Memorial Library in Montverde isn’t much to look at from the outside. Sort of reminds me of a big dumpster with a funny roof. Obviously aesthetics weren’t a major consideration in it’s construction. However once you get inside you will find a extremely clean, friendly and well thought out library. Definitely on the small side but with everything excepted in a modern library but with a welcoming small town feel. An old picture of Helen Lehmann greets you as you walk in the door and an even though it is small, the internal space feels larger than it really is because everything is so intelligently arraigned. The children’s department looks like a fun place to do things besides reading and of course the library is used for community programs. To be fair the outside of the library has some nice views if you happen to be facing the correct direction and the building itself isn’t unpleasant just very prosaic and functional. The Helen Lehmann Library is a nice example of how a small town library can do the most with what they are given.
