We stayed here for three days for our trip to a couple of national parks in the area. The place is very clean and the spots for camping are level and nicely landscaped. The real draw here is the pool and hot tub. Nothing better after a day of hiking or jeeping through the mountains then to relax and get be muscles some peace. If I rode a Harley here I would equally appreciate be camping via tents or cabins, but they have a killer patio area with three or four gas grills and fireplace for every one. Nicely put together and the staff is welcoming. I would say that having a more stocked store would provide ways to refill needed things in the middle of the journey. Yeah you can go to the grocery store in town but why leave when you are here at this oasis?

We stayed in a no-frills cabin for 3 nights. The restrooms and showers were very clean and well maintained. The camp hosts seemed a little gruff and burned out maybe, and they roll up the place after dark. Talking around the campfire after 10pm got us scolded a bit. A decent campground but definitely geared towards a older crowd that wants their peace and quiet.

Breathtaking! My husband and I went on a long summer trip on 2013. We were in Colorado for a few days and visited Mesa Verde, Garden of the Gods and of course Black Canyon. It was a long drive from Colorado Springs to Gunnison but it was worth it. There is nothing to do in Gunnison but the sight of Black Canyon is truly worth the drive. There is a nice visitor center with deck where you can have a good view of the canyon. They also have a short film about the history of the Black Canyon.
