Tasty food, nice porch seating over looking the dingy river. A little loud during peak hours.

This is my favorite Italian in Montpelier. Angel hair pasta is my favorite… Used to live could years opposite to it and there were many times that I have tempted to go for food…

Always disappointing. The food is uninspired Italian American food from the 80s and always under seasoned. The last time we ordered a bottle of wine it was un-drinkably bad. Despite the fact we didn’t drink it, the server didn’t check in, also never refilled our waters, barely acted as more than a food runner/busser. The view is great though.

As a Celiac, I’m always grateful when a restaurant has a GF menu and Sarducci’s has an extensive one! You can even get warm GF bread to start(which I think is Against the Grain Gourmet baguettes– the best!). I have eaten here several times and have never gotten sick. On the last visit the staff sang happy birthday to my daughter and she got a real kick out of it! My favorite is the Capellini di Verdure pasta dish — check it out!

First time I got a can of Focal Banger with what I thought was a piece of ice. So I took it off and played with it in my hand assuming it would melt, but it didn’t, since it was a piece of glass. Cut my finger on it, but why complain? I don’t need to here sorry to make myself feel better. Anyway, food was so bland and poorly presented. Wife and I «had» to go back a second time for a birthday celebration. Food again was such a letdown there is no way this place should be considered Italian. Just call it a family restaurant. Anyone wanting real Italian food should look up a recipe and make it yourself. Don’t waste your money at this place.

I dined on 4⁄7. Parking is pretty horrific unless you don’t mind a nice stroll in an «alley» in the rain. There was nearly an hour wait, which was long considering it was a Thursday night. The only issue with the wait is there is literally almost no where to stand. I saw people waiting to get seated just walking into the dining area looking for tables and the host was hardly there to greet the next batch of potential diners. Unacceptable. The ambiance is pretty poor as well; the place is noisy. Even worse with a table/group of 15 people from some«insurance company» that were loud and one cackling witch was enjoying her cocktails a little too much. As for the food — it was very good. I thought my Salmone Cucina was top-notch. Dessert was good as well. My drink? I tried the«new» old fashioned. SKIPTHISDRINK. It tasted like lower grade whiskey, possibly Canadian Club or Seagram’s 7, with some water and a cherry. Served in a martini glass. I was«this» close to sending it back. Whoever came up with that idea needs to find a new career. I really want to give it another chance — maybe on a slower weekday so it’ll have a better chance of showing what it has to offer; but be warned.

Meh… Ordered Veal Parmigian over penne. $ 20 6oz of veal, cooked well. The mozzarella was not what I would expect from a $ 20 dish, tasted like a wad of wet paper towel. No salt, no bite, no life. The marina sauce was fine, neither offensive nor pleasurable, tasted like canned tomatoes and oregano. The portion size and quality of this dish would have earned 3 stars were this a neghiborhood sub shop charging $ 8. Despite the ratings and reviews this really is not not a fine dining establishment. I realize I’m in Vermont however this is the Capital city and there is a culinary school centered here… I expected more & will not return.

Food was RICH but excellent! It was nice to go from a chilly, dark evening into a warm, lit, noise & laughter filled space. I appreciate the toasted bread with garlic olive oil as a complimentary starter. We got bruschetta for an appetizer which I wasn’t crazy about — the basic toasted bread with melted cheese was sub-par for me, and you have to keep adding $$ for tomatoes, then another few dollars for mozzarella. I didn’t think the world of our server. She didn’t really greet us and I felt that her kindness was a bit forced because it’s part of the job. I just don’t think she went out of her way to be friendly and for me, especially as a tourist in the area, that plays a big part. We had the basic bruschetta appetizer, 2 bottled sodas, one glass of wine, 3 entrees, and two raspberry sorbets for just over $ 100 including tip and tax. YIKES! I mean, we got entrees, an app, the full deal… but yes, definitely a place to be conscious of your ever-growing tab since the entrees really range from $ 15-$ 30(mostly above $ 20 if you want anything more than plain pasta). I am glad that for the price we paid for the food, the quality was really great. One complaint is that our sorbet was super tough and came off in exploding chunks, I believe because they pre-scooped it and stuck it in the freezer.

From Chicago where excellent Italian restaurants are plentiful, so we’re a tough audience. Happened on this one in our travels and wish it was closer. Superior service and pasta dishes that exceeded expectations. So many innovative items we would love to try. Manager Carol and waitress Ellen made us feel at home.

My family had a wonderful meal at Sarducci’s. From the service to the quality of the food, there was not a single complaint, which is very rare in our opinionated family. We sat in the room overlooking the river and loved the large open windows and feel of the room. My mom and I split a brick oven fired pizza which was more than enough to split between two people, and for $ 9, a huge bargain. My dad had the mussels which he raved about. He literally, and embarrassingly, sopped up all of the remaining sauce which his bread. There wasn’t a single thing that I would change about our meal at Sarducci’s. Yum!

Absolutely charming Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown Montpelier Vermont. The menu features lots of farm sourced, fresh ingredients. Although I’m not in Montpelier often, every time I am, I eat at Sarducci’s. The meal starts with crusty bread and really garlicky olive oil. For an appetizer, we had the polenta which was creamy, rich and full of savory flavors from the mushrooms and sundried tomatoes in the sauce. For dinner, I had tonight’s special, steak scallopini with fingerling potatoes, locally grown chard and roasted baby carrots. Everything was very tasty, but there was way more food than I could finish. A review of Sarducci’s wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the friendly attentive service. Everyone was sweet, friendly and took good care of us!

After many trips to the area over the past year I finally made it here — and I wish I had gotten here sooner! Very pleasant atmosphere, extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff, and fantastic food. I had the linguini with shrimp, mussels, and scallops. Outstanding dish and cooked perfectly. The cheesecake was good, but not quite dense enough to really be NYC style. Far better dinner here than J. Morgan’s.

Brought my father and fiancé here for a nice dinner and was not impressed. It seemed like we were really putting our waitress out by being there. She was rude– especially when I asked her to repeat the specials since the restaurant was loud and I’m partially deaf. I could have lived without her eye roll on that one. It seems like she didn’t like anyone who wasn’t a local because she was all jokes and smiles with the table next to us! The portions were a joke. This sounds so cliched but I’m going to say it anyway; we left hungry and actually had to fix food once we got back home! I ordered the homemade spinach pasta which was very lackluster. The sauce was watery, the pasta tasted like frozen pasta. The filling was good, I’ll give Sarducci’s that much. However if I’m paying $ 15 for a pasta dish, I’d expect more than 6 raviolis on my plate. My father and fiancé both didn’t seem to enjoy their plates. That’s $ 80 and two hours of my life that I’m never getting back:-/

We always enjoy the food. Never had a horrible experience. Sometimes we get food we don’t like but its not as if the food was bad, we just did not like it. Tonight we had the mussels for an app, and my wife had the fettuccine pescadores and I had penne with bolognese sauce. Both amazing. Other local places can’t get sauces right, Sarduccis does. There is a place in Burlington that is one notch above Sarduccis, but its such a hike that it’s worth it to stay local. Only two criticisms. Noisy when its packed, we can’t hear each other, and more local ingredients! We like chill gelato, red hen bread, local pasta… Show your local support!

Visiting Montpelier and got hungry. Asked people at the library for a recommendation and they all said, «Sarducci’s!» So that’s where we went. We had to wait almost an hour, but there were 7 of us. It was worth the wait. We all loved our meals. Worth it!

Great value! Good food and service without breaking the bank. Sure you go to Rao’s in NYC(not a chance you would get in, my friend) but you can’t go wrong here.(you will absolutely get in!!) Just a really nice place to get excellent food. If you also want great, fresh local products, go down the road to the Hunger Mountain Coop.
