We were in the market for a small riding lawn mower. We met one of the reps from this store at the lawn and garden show. He was very knowledgeable. He even offered us advice when the store had their sales and how much of a discount we could get at the sale. A couple months later, we came to the shop when he told us to, and sure to his word, the mower we wanted was on sale at the price we wanted. We also bought the bag attachments for leaves and lawn clippings which they had to special order. They tried very hard find some discount or manufacturers rebate on the bagging system, but alas, there were none.
While we were in the store paying, a loyal customer came into the shop needing a part for his giant lawn mower. He said he drove 30 miles just to come to this particular shop because of the service. I understood what he meant when they looked for the part, couldn’t find it in inventory, took that exact part off a new mower, charged him some nominal price and sent him on his way.
They gave us a lengthy tutorial on how to care for our new lawnmower, where to buy the right gas, what additives to use when, etc. They delivered the mower to our house and taught us how to drive it. Then, they came back and picked the mower up, took it back to the store to have the attachments put on and returned it to us. We prefer buying from a local store where if we have a problem, they will come pick up the mower and take it to their shop to be fixed. The price was even cheaper than the bigger stores in town and in Lafayette so that was a plus. When we need a snow blower, we will be back.
