My friend send the food back two times as it was not edible. She them complained to the owner who said, I do no need customers like you. What a moron, this is how you treat a customer. Lousy food and a dumb a. owner that does not care. so NEVER again will we step into this DUMP.

The only people who should be eating here are the county health inspectors. Our worst dining experience in years and we would have rated this zero stars if we could. We ordered two glasses of chianti, which had turned to vinegar and were undrinkable. Then came two cups of matzo ball soup; both the soup and the matzo ball had spoiled and were inedible. Avocado in the Cobb salad was rancid, as were the grape leaves in the Greek salad. And, as a final affront, our chicken wrap arrived with NOCHICKEN, just lettuce and mayo. After dinner, we walked to the Rite-Aid down the block and each took two preemptive Pepto Bismol tablets.

Went for dinner yesterday. Always thought it was a dump but took a chance and was pleasantly surprised. The food was decent, the décor was okay and the rest rooms were in good condition. Worth a visit when hungry.

Decided to give it a try since we didn’t want to eat at any of the typical fast food chains. Great diner with solid portions. The cheeseburger deluxe was on point. The owner(?), Greek guy, with the hairy chest was super friendly and funny. He told us a bunch of cool stories like how these crazy kids from Long Island used to come up on the weekends and party like animals on some hill with a huge bon fire. All in all an awesome spot to grab a bite.

I’ve been coming here ever since I was little. It is by far one of my favorite places to eat in Sullivan. The Greek food in particular is extremely good(the owners are Greek, after all) — I especially like the chicken souvlaki and Greek salad. I also love the chicken salad pita triangles, which are warmed pita sandwiches filled with chicken salad and bacon. As for fries, you can’t go wrong with sweet potato or curly. Delicious!

Started our Mysteryland Festival experience off here, and I’m sure it’s what launched us into an unforgettable weekend. The staff was incredible, the food was incredible.(best breakfast sausages and waffles I’ve EVER had) — the coffee was fresh and aromatic, and the vibe of the diner was homey and warm. It definitely has the family-owned feel down to a science and it was comforting. Coming from California, I have to say I would come back and eat breakfast here anytime I make it to the east coast.

Oh my! This place only deserves one star but the second one is for the very nice waitress. How can a restaurant in this day and age have handicapped parking but no handicapped accessible entrance?! We stopped in for a late lunch. We were seated at a nice table and given the regular menu and lunch specials menu. The lunch specials come with soup and dessert. We both ordered the matzo ball soup(this is Monticello! Matzo ball soup is part of the area’s heritage.). It was so salty as to be completely inedible. The waitress was kind enough to exchange it for the broth from the chicken rice, but that was way over salted too. We skipped the soup. The BLT wasn’t bad, but the London Broil sandwich was some of the toughest, most tasteless meat you could imagine. French fries were ok. I think that if you’re in the area, try someplace else. They obviously don’t care about their customers to serve soup like that. And they are so inconsistent in quality you don’t know what you’re going to get. I won’t be going back, that’s for sure.

After three days of camping, music, and dancing at Mysteryland USA, diner food was on all of our minds once we packed up for the drive back to NYC, but sad to say we must have ordered the wrong entrees. First off, the mac & cheese was ridiculously orange… I’m talking JERSEYSHORE orange(see my picture). It clumped together as I tried to stab at it with my fork, almost as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. The accompanying pulled pork was OK. Bacon that came with two of our breakfast dishes was extremely fatty — basically all clear/translucent — and limp, despite our requests to have it cooked well-done. The grilled cheese was anything but cheesy and gooey, and you could clearly see the measly two squares of American that they slapped in and half-melted for their«open-face» sandwich. I’d like to hope that our food was lackluster simply because there was an influx of festival-goers at the diner that Monday afternoon and they were too busy to keep up. Thankfully(a) we were hungry enough to eat just about anything, and(b) the service was good enough and I got plenty of much-needed refills on my coffee, so maybe, just maybe, we’ll give these guys another shot next time we’re in the area…

One of the best Reubens ever! Delicious stuffed shells. The Matador was perfect — medium rare. All in all, a fantastic meal!

Excellent food, with surprisingly speedy delivery. I had the buffalo chicken wrap with fries and coleslaw. All three were the best I had ever eaten.

Typical small town greek diner with super hearty portions. This is the type of dive diner(it’s across from the town jail and an econolodge) that has those paper placemats that have ads for local businesses — everything from barber shops to bail bonds to funeral parlors — and the kind of place that proudly serves up massive amounts of comfort food for a fair price. Breakfast plates usually come with TWO types of meat — bacon and your choice of massive links or patties(the links are as big as brotwurst). fruit for waffles is of the syrupy Sisco(restaurant supply) kind and the paper tubs are jam-packed with industrial margarine. Still, it was a nice way to start the end of summer after a weekend in the catskills. Bonus points for: free coors light with your cheeseburger homemade desserts total broad waitress

Decent food for a decent price. We had breakfast stuff around noon. Really nicely done potatoes. Service was good for the busy weekend day.

As others have pointed out, the Monticello Diner may look dumpy both inside and out, but don’t judge a book by its cover, the Monticello Diner(also known as the Miss Monticello Diner) offers exceptional food at an affordable price. The diner has an extensive menu, but I took the chef-recommended pepper steak over rice. This came with a choice of a cup of soup(I took the lobster bisque) and a dessert as well(which for me was a small Jello). I enjoyed my meal and the service I received while dining.

I like Diners and have been to many of them. I have been here a number of times as well. My only real issue with this place is they dont use good bacon, and since I pretty much go to Diners for bacon and egg type things, that matters to me. I dont know whats wrong with theirs, but assume its not a quality brand. But the booths are nice, the staff are also nice.

There is something awesome about Family-run places like Miss Monticello Diner. A WIN: Consistently Great Food + Cheap Prices + Warm Customer service = Miss Monticello Diner. This place is a winner. This is straightforward feedback as I can give.

My pal Hilary & I stayed across the street from this place during the truly, truly epic ATP Festival up at Kutsher’s Country Club, and dined here a few times throughout the weekend. First of all, Monticello itself is like Nilbog(Troll 2 fans, you know what I’m talking about). The diner was filled with precious older waitresses who were obvious veterans of the biz, elderly couples, scrappy ATP kids like ourselves attempting to cure their hangovers, and just plain weirdos(one guy who looked homeless wandered around the restaurant until the table he wanted opened up, then sat down and jerked around, murmuring to himself). Their menu is huge and cheap. The first day I decided to go wild and get a bacon and egg salad triple decker club sandwich which, complete with excellent fries, was awesome. Second morning, I got a caesar salad with chicken on top, which came with a choice of soup as a lunch special for $ 8.95. The dressing was garlicky and great – it felt good to actually eat some vegetables for once! The third morning I spent a whopping $ 3(!!!) on a giant bowl of chicken noodle soup and endless cups of coffee. The waitresses, working hard all the while, were clearly grateful for all the business ATP brings them for the long winter ahead. I loved this place, and will definitely return for next year’s ATP! Plus, their bathroom is nice.
