Absolutely the best sandwiches and pizza in the area. I’ve traveled and lived all across the country and I still have yet to find a place that consistently makes a better sandwich than Giovanni’s. The pizza is excellent — comparable to some of the better NYC pizzerias. Definitely the best lunch spot in the Catskills.

I’ve been emailed your Bonnie’s for close to 35 years and despite my proximally 10 year sabbatical from Monticello I tell you these boys have not missed a beat it’s probably one of the best sandwiches I’ve got to eat all over the world I grew up on the Godfather the roast beef which thank God is a rare which I prefer was just the so good, and the tacos which are really not my thing was yummy, this is a sure fire phenomenal fresh lunch. I’ve been there thee times in a week. Although considered to be some what of s better than average cook after having my first godfather in many years, I bought 4 to take-home just to have in the refrigerator to snack on. I could see myself jumping in the car driving hour and a half just to get one. I wonder if he would FedEx them. Scott

I called in an order for a pie at 12pm. They told me over the phone 10 mins. I went in 25 mins later and my pizza wasn’t even made. They started making it when I walked in. I waited a total of 65 minutes for a pizza. They were not even busy. I was watching people order full meals, wait, eat and walk out. The pizza wasn’t even cooked when I got home and I had to cook it in my own oven. No one even apologized for the wait. I go there often but I have to say I will go to Brother Brunos across the street from now on.

Consistently Excellent. The GODFATHER is amazing, the pizza tasty and the other sandwiches are generously stuffed with quality ingredients. I have never been disappointed at GIOVANNIs.

Maybe I’m weird, but I never got a Godfather, the sandwich famous at this place(I don’t like Italian subs). I always got a BLT hero. Very simple, but the bacon was perfect, tomatoes and lettuce always fresh, and the right amount of mayo. Staff is always nice here.

Figured I’d give this place an honest review since there aren’t any yet. I think competitors often intentionally trash others and I hate seeing that. I highly doubt anyone intentionally served anyone a roach. They flick the pizza in the box and close it. It’s not like anything is going to crawl in there. But I’m here to talk about the Godfather, the meatiest, tastiest Italian Combo-esque sub you’ll find in the area and for an awesome price. It’s better for takeout than dining in, and a nice selection of beers and beverages to boot. My one complaint is that the parking and entry/exit are messed up.

Omg. This place is so gross. I ordered a large cheese for pickup and when I got home and opened the box there was literally a roach in the middle of the pizza. I called to tell report the problem and the guy who answered the phone was a jerk about the whole situation. Never again.
