I was just in here today and I wss blown away by the prices. IF proceeds are in fact going to help military, veterans or charity I would happily pay a little more then I usually would for items but $ 400.00 for a used sofa that is stained is ridiculous. There wasn’t a used sofa there under $ 400.00, really?. Furthermore I saw a small end table I liked, it was $ 100.00 most people going to thrift stores don’t go to pay this much money for things, that’s why we’re going to a thrift store in the first place. I saw no signs that any proceeds are being donated to any sort of cause either. When I saw a tiny small foot stool/bench is $ 40.00 I walked out. I can’t believe they can try to charge this much for used stained stuff, used is one thing stained is a whole other story. If you’re looking for cheap furniture this is the WRONG place.

I’m not a huge fan of this particular thrift store, especially given the recent positive experience I had at the new Goodwill that’s about two minutes down the road from here. This Salvation Army isn’t terrible, but it’s nothing out of the ordinary for a thrift store. It’s warm and a little smelly in there. While they have a ton of clothing, it’s all packed in in very tight aisles. Parking can be a difficult proposition here on the weekends as well. I would also say that their donation center leaves something to be desired. First, you pull up in the back of the store and it just appears to be an open garage with a lot of people kind of standing around and picking through items/moving bags. Because of the open-air feel, I have to wonder how many of the donations get exposed to weather if they’re not brought inside promptly enough. It just seems really disorganized and tends to be a super unfriendly experience. It’s also a little weird that you can’t get a receipt at the donation area. You have to go around to the front of the store and fill out a form there after you make your donation. It’s just kind of disorganized. I wouldn’t necessarily avoid going to this store, but I probably don’t have a need to anymore given the other higher quality used clothing stores in the greater Montgomeryville/Lansdale area.

The store is clean, the staff are helpful, and the parking is okay(apparently you’re not supposed to park within the gates on the side? Makes it hard to find a spot when they’re busy). I generally go in for the kitchen stuff and the housewares. They have a decent selection and I have found a few neat items, but it’s not my first choice for thrift stores in the area, since there generally doesn’t seem to be a lot of turnover. Prices are just right though, you may have to dig.

I’m not sure the other reviewers are talking about the same store that I was in. The Salvation Army I went to had walls full of dollar store knick knacks priced way too high. Children’s clothes are high priced and all look like they have been shrunk beyond recognition. The set up is awkward and when heading to the back of the store along the edge there is only a narrow path. One of the employees was stocking the shelf near the back of the store when I was there and would not move an inch to let me through. The topper was when I picked up a cute lunch bag only to look inside and find dried food. That was the limit for me, I won’t be back.

I love Salvation Army and what they do. Don’t want to be too picky about a place like this because I don’t mind supporting their cause at all. I have noticed though that this location compared to others is a bit pricier. Not by much, but I would say everything is about 2 $ more expensive than other locations. Also, when they price their items with tags or more designer brands they tend to price too much. For example, I saw a jcrew peacoat without tags and clearly several years old that was priced at 40 $. In my opinion that’s just too much. The staff at this location is very friendly and upbeat. Definitely a good atmosphere.

I remember when this Salvation Army was on Broad street in Lansdale. It was GROSS! It was dirty, disorganized and quite frankly, smelled bad! Now they moved to a newer building, it is clean and inviting. The clothing is well organized by size. Wednesday ‘s are half off on clothes and everyday there is a tag color that is half off! BUT you have to stop in frequently because you never know what you might find!

Listen DONATE your stuff here. it really goes for a great cause! Really, not like 2nd Ave where Purple Heart Franchise sells the clothes you donate to them then they resell it. This store is clean, nice easy to get to. I know a ton of folks that buy the furniture and RESELL and SHABBY it up Chic. what crazy bargains in furniture. THEYHAVEWED. sales to. YOUHAVETOASK when the best time for FURNITURE cause the PRO’s for EBAY snap up the stuff. Also there are professional owners that shop this store blind and RESELL on EBAY and their stores as DESIGNER one of a kind samples. So good luck normal needy person trying to find a designer prom dress or cocktail or wedding item! Happy shopping bargains galore! ANDYES god bless those that donate here! TRUENONPROFIT! ½ my house goes here annually!

The new location, 671 Bethlehem Pike, Colmar, PA is so much better than the previous location on Broad Street. Good news — this store was very clean. The floor was practically sparkling. It was also very organized. Challenges for this store — it smells like a thrift store. A true shame because this location is maybe a year old. Very disappointing. The clothing racks were very close together, which might give a challenge to those in a wheelchair or with a stroller. Clothing prices ranged from what you would expect in a thrift store to $ 16.99 for a girls winter coat.(??) Some of the pillows were stained badly. It was difficult to determine who the paid staff were when I had a question.

This is my favorite thrift store. It’s small and nothing pretty. They have the right idea of high volume and low price. There’s not much furniture. Clothing is half-off on Wednesday.
