The Back Porch On the Lake

Not very impressed with the service here. The personnel was unbelievably unorganized and rude. Between the rude greetings we received and the smoke filled seating area, we decided to cross the street and head over to 7 Leguas and so glad that we did!

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! Called in an order and it was Taco Tuesday ($ 2 tacos) and we asked for four orders of Street Tacos. We did not know that it was Taco Tuesday, and they assumed and gave us 4 tacos, instead of four meals. We called back and they did not care that we had the wrong order, or mention it was Taco Tuesday when we first called. When I went to pick up my order (during my lunch break) and they took their time. They said it would take 15 – 20 minutes, and it took 30 – 40. & the food was not even that good… bitches.

Went to lunch today. Wings were great as was the burgers and onion rings. Service was great. We came by boat and enjoyed the view from the porch. Only reason we down graded is the draft beer not cold. Bottle beer is the way to go. Otherwise we will certainly be back. Nice place.

Wednesday is BOGO half off on burgers. Pair it with the onion rings and it was just over $ 16 with tax. Food was good. We will go back.

If you want fancy, not really the place. It’s comfortable, lived-​in, etc, but the food is decent, the waitress was really vigilant; they had live music going, and the inside looked like a great place to watch sports. Not hyper expensive, and you get that lake view you came for.

You don’t have a lot to choose from in Montgomery on a Monday, so we ignored the reviews and stopped here for lunch. Glad we did. Nice porch view, 3 dollar margaritas, and kids eat free on Mondays. All that bumps 3 star food to a four star place.

Good burger and fries, nice patio and view of the lake, kids menu a lil pricey, will try again. Décor is cool and the workers seem friendly and food service was prompt

Don’t plan on visiting again. Aside from the comfortable deck overlooking the lake there is really nothing else to report. My blackened fish tacos were soggy and lacked flavor.

It’s a bar… Loud… No children… But has smoking an a great view … Food was ok… Not what I expected…

After avoiding the back porch for the past eight or nine months, we decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised. The service was prompt and efficient and the food was excellent. We’re going to put it back on our approved eating list.

The crawfish was cold and tiny. The waitress was brain dead and there was a wait with at least 3 tables open in plain sight. What a shame for shame an awesome location.

This place is under new management and has changed for the better! The last few times we have been we had excellent service! Great food (my husband loves the crawfish) and great atmosphere. The owners are super nice and make sure everything is as it should be. Definitely a great spot on the lake!

The Back Porch is under NEW management!!! And a lot of positive changes have taken place. Will soon be expanding the menu for Spring and Summer. Crawfish are amazing!!! Karaōke every Saturday night, bands are being booked and karaōke will start up on Wednesdays soon.

Waited and waited and were never served. Will NOT be back! We have had iffy service there before but this was the Worst! Waitresses came to tables by is and ignored us. Told the manager as we were leaving. We love the location but its it worth the crappy service!

Was soooo excited to go to The Back Porch On The Lake​today to enjoy the beautiful weather with good food and great friends… well…the great friends was there, but will never know about the food… it never showed up. 1 hour of waiting for basic nachos, 30 minutes for drinks… and the lousiest SERVICE I have ever experienced… i asked our waiter what happened to our nachos and all he could tell me was, «I put the order in.» I asked twice for the drinks to be delivered, he said ok, and the drinks never arrived… several other tables who were never waited on, started to leave… almost a mass exit… Amazingly enough, when we finally gave up and chose to leave, what I guess was the head waitress/​manager asked us wht was wrong and she got an ear full. They didn’t charge us for the 5lbs of crawfish and few beers our group DID manage to get… Unless something SERIOUSLY changes… we will NOT be back.

Ok. Not great. Not horrible. Bartenders young and all that that implies. Not paying attention to details. Didn’t eat can’t say about the food. Probably won’t be regulars here.

We use to be regulars here but we had not been in for a couple months. I’m only giving them two stars because our waitress was great. She was very fast and courteous, otherwise it would be no stars.
They shrunk the menu down and got rid of a lot of items. Probably about half the size of the old menu. Some of my favorite items were gone. We ordered fried pickles and it was a small portion.
They had live music/​a DJ, and it was extremely loud. It was loud enough we were having to yell and my wife was getting a headache. And we made sure to set at the opposite side of the patio from the music. We mentioned it to our waitress and she told us she had asked the manager about it several times with no change. I think what made it worse was the plexiglass walls around the patio was causing the sound to echo.
We only stayed long enough to finish our app and pay our bill. Its a shame i was looking forward to hanging out there, if they would have supplied ear plugs we could have stayed awhile.

Burgers are excellent. I love fries and these were pretty tasty, I could have done with a bit more.
I agree with the service, well the initial service after that server ignored us for the first 10 min. The server that did help us was super sweet and attentive. She seemed to be handling the whole floor.
I’m not sure I like the whole seat yourself concept if they don’t realize you are there.

service i give a 2 star. MY overall rating is a 1 If possible i would give non!
Will make this quick:
1. Appetizers– Chip and dip/​guacamole was pretty alright.
2. i ordered the grilled chicken platter, trying to eat healthy and hoping for a nice fat grilled chicken breast to be served. Upon arrival of the plate was already disappointed. the Wompiest Grilled Chicken platter ever seen. and its $ 10 you must be kidding me. the chicken must be food deprived. or they pounded the chicken breast to flatten it out to make it seem bigger. platting was terrible with everything just thrown on. Of course this isn’t a 5 star restaurant but there’s got to be some kinds of standards of operation in the kitchen. (picture posted)
3. ordered a side of mac’n cheese for my daughter. First of all how the HELL do you mess up MAc’n Cheese. the shells were hard and cheese was in clumps.
TIP FOR ALL FUTURE CUSTOMERS: BRING YOUR OWN «QUICK VELVEETA MAC’N CHEESE» AND ASKED THEM TO HEAT IT UP FOR YOU .
4. «live music» was a complete JOKE! a guy singing karaōke and killing all the legendary titles like purple rain with super mono toned voice. and after the song he asked for tips and goal was to hit $ 65 or he’s going to pack up and leave. and then kept on asking almost like begging. Thought musicians were more talented than this. Musicians GET paid, withOUT asking/​begging!!!
