Sushi Café is one of the BEST sushi restaurants I have ever been to. I stopped by on my way down to Destin, Florida and was helped by the waiter James. He did an exceptional job recommending his favorite rolls and always making sure I was pleased with the food. I have been to several sushi restaurants and this is by far the best one. Make sure to stop by this great restaurant!

I enjoyed this location. Once again my fellow Unilocalers didn’t let me down! I enjoyed a huge amount of edameme which is a favorite of mine. I really enjoyed the fresh & unique taste of the playboy roll & my always safe go to Philly roll.. Nothing like a good dose of cream cheese, but this place is delicioso & I’ll be for sure to try some of the other rolls listed on the menu! I ! 1 of Gump towns few good places!

Crowded. So we assumed we were in for a treat! We are both easy going and don’t usually leave bad reviews. However, we were so thrown back by how Unsatisfying the food was that we HAD to create an account with Unilocal in order to leave a review. We also watched the person next to us order a spicy salmon and when spicy TUNA arrived he questioned whether it was salmon and the server insisted that it was. That was not good business practice.

Sushi Café is more than just that little sushi stop that you’re iffy about going to. It’s literally a diamond in the rough for this area. When I left California, I thought I’d said goodbye to legitimate sushi. But alas, I found sushi café! The restaurant is surprisingly pretty good! I’ve gone twice and I’m still craving to get back there! The sushi(nigiri) prices are actually relatively cheap! The rolls are normal for fusion sushi places– and they do a job with flavor, texture, presentation, quality, and portion! They offer a good number of appetizers and kitchen food. The menu is pretty extensive with some Korean dishes, as well. And, I love me some good Korean food. Service is pretty attentive, even when they have a full house. Sushi Café seems to have found its niche; it knows its pace, its customers, its flow. And, this is evident with how efficiently the restaurant runs. Ah, lunch time: lunch time gets QUITE busy, especially if you don’t get there 5 minutes before the rush, BUT the lunch deals are pretty sweet. This is definitely not your authentic Japanese sushi restuarant, but if you’re skeptical about having«pretty good» sushi or a first time sushi eater, I’d recommend getting a lunch deal to fall into a slow sweet love :)

I’ve stumbled upon this sushi bar for the first time in the city of Montgomery. This restaurant had a lot of great reviews, and indeed, I agree with the other Unilocalers because it’s the bees knees. I love the quiet noise level while dining out on a Saturday night, and it’s really a win-win because it’s not as busy. The staff was very attentive and courteous, so it’s basically in the restaurant and out because the food arrives in a short period of time. Personally, my mom and I ate the Texas Roll, Daniel Special Roll, and Crazy Roll, all of them were delicious. All the ingrediants were well put-together. The Daniel Roll is out of this world because the shellfish in it were actually like a very small meal. I love the sauce, the decadent shellfish in each sushi roll you sink your teeth in, and the rice was well-rolled. If you’re looking for great sushi in Montgomery, come to Sushi Café. Very fast and efficient service, awesome drinks, and amazing sushi.

OK, so I’ve been coming to Sushi Café for years! I went to school here in Montgomery so I used to be a regular. Just late with a review. In town for a graduation so I HAD to stop. They are true experts for the lunch crowd. Its usually pretty busy here but the staff does a great job getting you in & out. Whether it’s dine in or to go. I usually get a Bento Box or the amazing Daniel Special Roll. My favorite Bento Box is the Beef Bogolgi. Its seasoned really well with all sorts of spices especially garlic. Its very flavorful. The Box comes with a house salad, your choice of meat, white or fried rice, orange slices, & a 2 pc California Roll. All under $ 10! Now I will admit that the fried rice isn’t the BEST but the sauce they give you on the side(especially if you get the beef) makes up for it. Now about the Daniel Special Roll… it is unbelievable. The moment you dive in to devour it… the mountain of crab, shrimp, & scallops topple down. Like seriously. Its packed with so much REAL seafood that it’s an entire mini meal of it’s on. I always get full. Now this is a cooked & fried roll but it’s awesome. Topped with spicy mayo & eel sauce. I get excited every time I eat it. If you’re looking for some great fulfilling sushi & a delicious Bento Box. Come here. Its fast & the food is good!

We had take-out. Cleanliness: Very good. Service: Due to takeout, we have limited insight here. They had the food ready, ordering was easy and they did not mess up anything. Food: The rolls were yummy, but very small. Overall: Good.(We’ll test the sit down service some time in the near future.)

Great service and food! Everyone at my table enjoyed their meal. I had a California roll and a bulgogi(sp) roll, both were great! The plum wine went well with my meal.

Not happy and won’t be back. My vegetable hibachi in my bento box was soaked half way of this watery flavorless soup. Vegetable hibachi should be fried and not be served all soaked like that. Manager argued with me that it’s just the moisture from the vegetables. I would pick up a piece of broccoli and it would literally be dripping with water. The Daniel Special Roll is really good though that’s probably all I would recommend here.

Such an awesome, cozy little restaurant. I had zero issue finding the local(didn’t even need the navigation, how wonderful is that for me) and there was also plentiful parking. I was a party of one, so it was really easy to accommodate me. Perfect. I ordered the Seaweed Salad, Daniel’s Roll and another roll that alludes my memory at the moment. Everything, including service, was super spectacular. Kudos for the very efficient, quick service. Drinks(Mai Tai) were delicious as well. Such a shame I don’t live in the area to partake more often. But definitely give it a try – sushi is very fresh and tasty. You won’t be disappointed.

I love this restaurant! It’s quaint, quiet gem. I usually go for lunch or to pickup a quick dinner. The servers are always friendly and helpful; the service is always quick and consistent. Oh and the sushi — delicious and consistenly fresh well wrapped bundles of joy. I never get bored with all of their many options that are all reasonably priced. I can’t say enough good things to say :)

It’s great for sushi. Their raw menu is outstanding. If you are looking for bento boxes or a hot menu, this is not your place. The tables are very close together and you feel like you are dinning in the laps of the table next to you in some places in the restaurant but if you ask for a booth, you will have room to dine comfortably.

Always as speedy as possible and dependable rolls. Great lunch menu and always a «thank you» from the chef at the bar. THANKYOU, Sushi Café, for being a great place close to home. I only wish you would get new music. Maybe just play the radio instead of piano music. Sometimes I get my rolls to-go so I don’t have to sit through a piano arrangement of Spice Girls«Two Become One» for the hundredth time. I know you have to hate it too.

Great little place to grab sushi or Japanese-inspired dishes. I’m pretty picky about sushi and definitely have to be in the mood for it, and I was not on this visit. So I opted for a more traditional dish with shrimp. Shrimp was very tasty, and it came with rice and sautéed vegetables. Good food, for sure.(My dinner companions both went with sushi, and they looked really delicious.) The interior of the restaurant is pretty tiny, but it has a very intimate and homey feel to it. I would certainly revisit this place when I’m back in Montgomery.

Thank you fellow Unilocalers for helping us find this gem. One of the best sushi restaurants we have been to. Excellent meal. Cute décor. Friendly staff. We ordered the Emperors Boat for 4 and it did not disappoint. It was huge and could easily feed 4 hungry adults. It also comes with tempura and the most wonderful salad with sashimi? poke? not certain other than it was so good!!! The best caterpillar rolls I have ever had also the Daniels roll was great. No kids menu but we ordered one chicken teriyaki($ 12) for our kids to share and the server brought an extra plate. Huge serving easily feed 2 hungry kids and came with fried rice and fresh stir fried veggies. It looked really good and they enjoyed it. Only cons: Service was so fast… I actually wished at times they would slow it down so we could just enjoy the meal without worrying about making room on the table for the next rolls. Closed on Sundays. Our meal was so good we came back again the same week but they were closed. :(bummer. We have to wait for another trip to Montgomery one day.
