Peyton’s Place

Awesome, awesome, awesome meat +3 type of place. The food is delicious and home cooked southern style. The servers are all very friendly and many of them students at the university across the street.
They seem to be busy all the time but wait times are pretty minimal.

Arriving at the door I was greeted by a staff member with a smile. The place was buzzing already at 11:40am. Once I was seated my server came immediately and reviewed today’s items with me. She brought my drink back within 2 minutes and was ready to take my order or help me with making my selection. The food here is just delicious homemade southern food. A must try is the Baked Potato Salad! It is absolutely to die for! The place is busy constantly because not only is the food delicious, but the service is even better! Highly recommend this jewel in Montgomery.

Food is good but the charge you for a meat and three even if you get a meat and one. Server had written price for a meat and one but the owner charged for a meat and three. I asked about it and he says it’s the same for a meat and one or meat and two or meat and three. I am a senior citizen and can only eat a meat and one. I will not go back.

Wow, what a local gem! Came into town on business, and didn’t find this place until the day before leaving. Excellent non-​pretentious Southern cooking. The waitress we had was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. Can’t recommend enough.

I like it as a good lunch place. Diner food selection, prices aren’t bad either. If you are Montgomery and want to try a local joint, I like it.

My husband and I stopped by here for lunch. This is the kind of place where you can come have lunch by yourself (kind of like a diner bar setup) or with a crowd (lots of space and tables). It’s only open for lunch on the weekdays, so their menu is limited and changes daily. There is a few meats and a nice list of sides to chose from. If you’re looking for a quick bite, this is a great pit stop since all the food is pretty much ready to order. But if you wanted to spend all day there to chat with a friend, I don’t think the folks would mind either. The staff is super friendly and the soul food is in par with what you expect from the South. I’m looking forward to going back again.
Also, this place is very convenient if you need to renew your license since it’s next door to the Probate Office.
