So happy they’ve brought flyboarding to Texas! I first heard about flyboarding when I was visiting family back in Indiana(Big surprise since Indiana is usually behind on all the fun stuff!) We didn’t have time during our trip so when I returned to Texas, I decided to see if it was offered anywhere in the area and came across South Texas Flyboard. Making reservations was easy and they were were very accommodating with their schedule. It was a really windy but gorgeous day and getting kind of cold to do water activities, but us adrenaline junkies sucked it up and went out to meet with Ronnie and Yolanda. They were patient with us newbies and super thoughtful for turning the wet suits inside out before we wore them so they had been warmed by the sun. Ronnie took us out individually and was very encouraging. He even let us try some tricks once we got the hang of the basics. The only thing I would like to remember for next time is to also wear water shoes, because the flyboard boots were a bit loose for smaller folks which caused me to slide back and forth and lose my balance. It didn’t hurt to fall(I fell multiple times and got right back up laughing the entire time), but once you’re able to stay up for longer than 10 seconds it is AMAZING. No joke, I felt like a superhero! Their excitement and passion for the sport was definitely contagious and my half hour stint was a ton of fun. We found out that Ronnie would be competing in the Flyboard World Cup Championship the following week, so he definitely knows what he’s doing. I’ll be back and would recommend this to anyone else that wants to know how it feels to be Iron Man!
