Had a beautiful lunch here with a friend and we so enjoyed the food, atmosphere & service. The salad balsamic vinaigrette was pleasant and not sour or harsh. Delicious French onion soup, large panini and great coffee. want to take the family there next !!!

Excellent service on a busy Saturday night! Our group shared nachos with pulled pork — good and topped with guacamole. Not really nacho chips but homemade type chips — not typical nachos but it worked. I preferred the hot wings — just enough spice and a yummy house made blue cheese dressing. Several of us had the chicken and goat cheese panini. The goat cheese, garlic ailio and bacon were so good but chicken was dry. One had a burger and liked it.

Went for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. Had a scallop appetizer and the people I was with ordered the pizza marghertia, not realy pizza but more flatbread with diced tomatoes, my dish was supposed to come with potatoe/leek pancakes but I got dry fried potato balls. Overall I wouldn’t recommend.

We arrived for Wednesday 5 dollar menu. Bar was packed but we were seated quickly at a spacious table away from the noise. The wine was perfectly presented — we had a delicious round of cheeseburgers for the four of us ! Such a fun atmosphere. Will definitely be back !!

I ate lunch today at Garrison’s with my mom after some fun antiquing in the area. A customer from the antique shop recommended Garrison’s saying«I wouldn’t eat anywhere else». Well I wish I got her name so I could thank her for the most memorable lunch I’ve had in a long time. I had their spinach salad with salmon and I was in heaven. My mother had the flat bread special with chicken, arugula and the the most delicious fries. Our waiter, Tom was very friendly and told us they have a great prime rib night on Tuesdays. If I lived here I would be back for that. For all of you who leave in the area, consider yourself lucky!

Hit or miss. Bar very noisy. Eat in the back if available. Descent size meal. Last visit our waiter was more than pleasant and friendly. He went above and beyond. I don’t love the«blanched» fries but they are fresh. I feel they pay more attention to bar crowd than dining area. We have also been there when it was ahh so-so. We do continue to go back. Food is very good. They need to tweek the in between.

My favorite ‘hump-day’ hang out.– $ 5 appetizers and an amazing $ 5 burger special on Wednesdays. Perfect night to hang out on the patio with friends at Garrison’s & de-stress.

So I’m not normally a person who writes bad reviews. I like to think there’s always a blue sky behind a dark cloud and such things. However, this place is just a waste of money if you’re looking for anything other than a bottle(better be a bottle and check the expiration date too) of beer. First time I went here, there was some extra crunch in the nachos I did not order. Turns out they mistakenly thought we wanted glass chunks as a topping. There was also nothing on the nachos except some oxygen, nitrogen, and other trace gases from the atmosphere. The pulled pork was also lacking any sort of flavor whatsoever. That should have really stopped me from ever going again but I thought maybe I’ll give it another shot. Bad choice. This time the wine glass containing white wine had some crusted red wine at the bottom for extra flavor. Free of charge, courtesy of the dishwasher if their actually is one. I started off with their nachos, which are loaded with BBQ pulled pork, cheese, avocado, and salsa. Fortunately this time they held the glass but it seems they replaced that menu staple with chips-burned-onto-wax-paper instead. Moving onward and downward, I ordered the Garrison’s burger, thinking that how could they possibly ruin their restaurant’s named meal? It’s supposed to be a BBQ pulled pork burger that I ordered rare. I’m happy to say that they thankfully changed my order to well done and also did not include the pulled pork. They also forgot to include any additional flavoring save a tomato and an onion, the onion being on the plate leaving the tomato all by itself on the burger. After eating the Garrison’s Burger of Disappointment, I ate the onion. This was the most flavorful thing I ate all night. That and the delicious satisfaction I had from walking away from that restaurant, knowing I would never be subjected to their culinary chaos ever again. Escape never tasted so good.

Just passing through on a long driving trip. Needed a great meal. Got it with a warm, familiar atmosphere.. The food was we’ll prepared. The service was good pub service; friendly and adequate. Loved it. Wish I could take them home with me.

Last summer, after golf, had a good experience eating at the bar. Last night, for my birthday from my wife, Skyfall the movie and dinner. Decided Garrison’s would be good. Big mistake. Wanted a good burger and fries. Ordered their $ 9 burger. Medium well with no cheese, but with lettuce and tomato. Barkeep didn’t ask me which of the sides I wanted so I was curious what she would bring out. Wife had a huge pile of nachos with cheese, peppers, salsa and, supposedly, pulled pork. Ordered two margaritas, on the rocks with salt. Barkeep served them in brandy snifters. Not sure why, but made drinking difficult. She also had the 4 cheese macaroni. Burger came out on a huge bun. Way too big. So I took the burger off the bun and put catsup and mustard on just the burger. Ate part of the tomatoes which had NO flavor at all. The fries(surprise!) were done to a dark brown … or they were burned(when I said that I was told they were ‘blanched’. Blanched means to make lighter — or white. Not burned.) Then the burger. Supposedly 8 oz. Did not say fresh, but for $ 9.00 a frozen paddy? Really? When the server(barkeep) asked me how everything was, I answered her truthfully. The fries burned(she said blanched), the tomato tasteless(she said out of season), the burger from a frozen paddy(she said kitchen doesn’t have time to make fresh burgers). In retrospect, I should have said sorry I wasted my time and $ 9. on a meal that would have been much better at 5 Guys or even Wendy’s. She did take the order off the check — which still came to about $ 35. for a couple of margaritas, nachos and a bowl of mac and cheese. Won’t be revisiting.

Cozy, friendly and attractive tavern to have a drink at the bar or dinner at a table. Tables are covered with a white table cloth, except for the one by the big window. The dark wood all over adds to the comforting feel. The french onion soup was homemade and tasted perfect. Great flavor without being so salty that it makes you crazy. Chicken wings were lightly crispy on the outside and tender and juicy inside. The Cuban sandwich was also very good. The signature burger that’s stuffed with pork was insane! We couldn’t finish all of our food as the servings were so large. The place got an extra star since the bar played the Yankee game on one screen and the Red Sox on the other. If we’re ever in the area again, we have our go to places in the village, thanks to Unilocal

Nice place to grab a bite to eat. Stopped in for lunch, just looking for something simple and was very pleased. We had a burger and a steak sandwich and some fries. All the food was tasty and the fries we especially good. I have heard good things about Garrison’s and after this lunch visit I will definitely be back to try dinner.

Located on the site of the former Daily Bean Café, this cozy restaurant saved my New Year’s. How did they accomplish this, you ask? Takeout was desired from a local restaurant. I called Local Restaurant #1, which informed me that they had a special menu for New Year’s Eve. That would have been nice except that nothing on the menu was vegetarian. How was that possible in this day and age? Not even that old standby, eggplant? Nothing? Local Restaurant #2 was initially more promising — they had vegetarian pad thai, after all! — but right after I placed the order they called back, saying that they did not have the pad thai available that evening after all. Too bad, but what was I going to do? Enter Garrison’s Tavern & Wine Cellar, which modified one of their pasta dishes to meet my dietary needs. The dish, which included butter, garlic, basil, and a yummy helping of cannellini beans, came with seafood, which they generously offered to replace with tomatoes when I explained my situation. And wouldn’t you know it? The dish was delicious! It was filling and nicely presented for the New Year’s occasion, and the accompanying salad was fresh and well-made also. I didn’t pick up the food, but I was told that the restaurant is nicely appointed with a bar area in the front and many nice tables. It had an adult, refined but non-stuffy atmosphere. And who can help liking restaurants that cater to vegetarians? Note to Local Restaurants #1 and #2: we like to enjoy our holidays and stuff ourselves silly, too. Garrison’s Tavern & Wine Cellar made sure that happened for me.
