C & R Movers

Update: NO, this «business» has not ever tried to rectify their unprofessional handling of our belongings. Items are still missing/​stolen or broken and they feel they aren’t responsible.? Beware

Absolutely the worst move I have ever experienced! The contract stated that C&R Movers would bring everything from our home in Illinois to our home in Alabama. The owner had the total weight and list of our belongings, and agreed to do the job.
My wife met the movers in Illinois, and they were late arriving begin the process. As they got closer to loading everything onto the trucks, my wife called me and said she was told by the owner that he did not have enough room for all of our items.
When I called the owner on his cell phone, he said there was nothing he could do, and he didn’t have the resources to get everything loaded. When I told him that my family and I were depending on him to live up to his commitment, he said he had rented an additional U-​Haul to help with the packing process, but that he would not be able to get some of the items.
There was over $ 2,000 in damage to our furniture and other belongings. Plus, we had to rent a truck and hire a friend to drive it from Illinois to Alabama with the rest of our belongings for another $ 700. Additionally, a number of expensive items were lost.
If you want quality service and somebody you can trust, don’t hire this company to move you… EVER!
