Place was smokey from grill. Had the daily special which was bacon cheese burger and fries. $ 9.99 Burger was ok not a lot of flavor. The vegetables on the burger were fresh and crisp. Fries were fries

If you’re looking for a good burger, this is your place. However, some days are better than others. Also, be prepared to pay and make sure you know the price of your order. On our most recent visit, we ordered the kids burger basket and traditional burger basket. After paying $ 23 and change, I looked back at the menu and figured I had been over charged. By my calculations it should have bee around $ 18 and change. Once the food arrived my burger lacked the one thing I specifically ordered… The jalapeño bun! My bun was on the soggy side from the start and didn’t come close to matching the size of the meat. Overall though, Burger Fresh can be good and has lots of potential. It’s a definite visit if in Montgomery and crave a burger.

Super friendly place that has a welcoming atmosphere of guests and staff. Great place to grub and laughs with friends. The food is mouthwatering and fresh. This is a must try when you are in the Huston area.

Goodness! Reading some of the reviews here I’m wondering if we’re talking about the same place. My family and I ate there yesterday. It was lunchtime and the place had a decent crowd, but not overwhelming. The manager was friendly and helpful. We ordered the value bags for lunch, which include a reasonably-sized burger, small fries and a fountain drink for $ 6. Our meals were terrific and served in a timely fashion. After the meal, our 6-year old was treated to a free scoop of Blue Bell chocolate ice cream. I’m not sure what else I could have asked for from a burger joint. I thought their ranking was well deserved. $ 6 is what I would pay for a fast food meal and this definitely surpassed that. Plus, they have a nice deck to enjoy the scenery of Old Montgomery. We will certainly be back.

2 tiny meals for the kids cost me over $ 16. Combination of the RUDE employee(possibly the owner?), so-so food & outrageous prices = NEVERAGAIN!

I ordered a California burger with onion rings. It cost $ 14.05. When I got home unlike the guy below instead of 5 onion rings they only gave me 3. Sorry but I could have done much better somewhere else and saved money. I promise I will not return. Way overpriced and under served! Oh and it did come with a drink too. I estimate the cup at about 12 ounces.

I have gotten burgers from here to go and have always been satisfied with my food. I think they have a pretty good deal with their brown bag special, and they offer MISD employees a discount so even better for me :) There were a couple times my food was a little burnt, but it wasn’t to the point that it ruined the food.

Burger Fresh was once at the top of the list for burgers in Montgomery County. Not anymore. I ordered the burger they tout as one of Texas Monthly’s best. I respectfully disagree. The meat was fine, but the jalapeño sourdough bun was burnt to the point where it simply didn’t taste good. For approximately $ 13, I expected more.(The bun on my wife’s burger was severely burnt, as well.) The fries were stale and tasted like they had been cooked in very old oil. All-in-all, there’s a 99.9% chance I never eat here again.

Food is always good but the owner(Elvis looking dude) is not friendly at all. I come here because it’s close. If there was another place that was good and had a friendly staff I would go there instead.

I can see why this place got Best Burger from Texas monthly. Burgers were delicious and the highlight were the sourdough buns. But it was really the service that went above and beyond. They brought us an extra strawberry ice cream to avoid a child meltdown.

The burgers are good the service is always great. My only complaint with the place is that the burgers are so heavy. This is not energy food. The«award winning burger» is incredible, but you will eat half of it. You may want to avoid on real hot days, the AC is challenged.

Stopped by on a whim and was roped in by the Texas Monthly award stuff they have plastered all over the restaurant. Verdict: Texas Monthly is full of crap. That burger was terrible. A bland mess(an accomplishment considering it has both bacon and pepperjack), it quickly fell apart, bread and all, due to the overwhelming sogginess. It left a lot to be desired. I’ve had a lot of great burger experiences but, sadly, this was not one of them. Other: smallish restaurant with maybe 10 small tables; walk up and order at window; easy to spot. 2 stars. Don’t be fooled by the«Award Winner».

Had a double turkey burger, tots and a milkshake(cheat day) — cost about $ 25! While it was good, it was way too expensive. Probably 40% too expensive. They do offer combos and specials that appeared to be less expensive, so my advice would be to watch what you add on — per item pricing will get you. That being said, I will most likely be back. I want this place to survive as it offers way better burgers and variety than one would expect.

I called in our order of 3 cheeseburgers, and by the time I got then home, they were still warm & juicy. I’d order for pickup again definitely, as the tables didn’t look very clean.

Are you kidding me right now?!? That… was… AWESOME! So, growing up in Southern California, I’m a bit of a burger snob because I grew up on In-n-Out and Fatburger(the best, of course, being Fatburger). Suffice it to say, I’ve done my fair share of searching for an equivelant here in Texas, so much so that my husband can tell you exactly how much it would cost us to open a Fatburger franchise in Houston. DONEANDDONE! We stumbled across Burger Fresh on a mother /daughter weekend in Montgomery this last weekend and would almost consider driving back from Houston just for a burger if gas wasn’t so high. Not sure what kind of burgers other reviewers are comparing theirs to, or maybe I just got lucky and had great service and a good cook the day I went. Food was fresh, service was friendly and prompt, the place was clean and it was the perfect stop on our stroll through Historic Montgomery, TX. Oh, and I dare you to say that you don’t like their onion rings without laughing. I’m not a sweet potato fries person but if you are, I heard A LOT of people ordering them — so they must be good! The only«downside» is that they are a little pricey at $ 20’ish for 2 burger baskets w drinks(keep in mind this is fast food) but worth every greasy gooey penny!

Not a fan. Maybe their Conroe location is better. We went right after they opened. The place was hot and busy. What we got certainly makes me wonder about the writers for Texas Monthly. This is the second place we have went to based on Texas Monthly review and both were terrible. The meat itself was dry, like someone with a spatula had pressed the life out of it on the grill. The bun turned to mush, being unable to hold up to the mountain of stuff it was expected to contain. It simply wasn’t edible without a spoon. The owner is rude beyond belief. He just seemed angry the entire time, shouting at his staff and customers. A customer asked for more napkins, didn’t get them in a timely manner so she went up to the counter and asked for more and was told, «shut up and sit down, we’ll get them as soon as we can. Absolute shock! People were slack jawed. My husband, who never says anything, stood up and said, you should apologize to her, unless you are always an ass. Everyone waited and man said nothing. We and several others left. Astounding!

Was in town visiting Grandma and Grandpa. They wanted to go out to eat. Where to go? «OH!», they say, «there’s a place down the road that has Texas Monthly’s best Burger.» Done. So the Texas Monthly burger(in my opinion, I’m very well traveled and have had hundreds of burgers around the nation) just isn’t that great. The meat is overcooked leaving it dry. The bun does not stand up to what’s on the inside. And it’s pricey as hell. If you’re considering driving a distance for this burger, I wouldn’t recommend that. Service is friendly. Huge menu. Lots for the kids. The tables are quite dirty and sticky.

Filthy eating area. Owner’s a jerk and will overcharge you, so pay attention to what he rings up. And he will not refund you. Jalapeño bun was the best thing there. Overpriced. Try Jax Burgers in Magnolia on 2978; they have service, quality and are reasonably priced.
