Super fresh and nice presentation. Probably one of the nicest of the multiple Asian restaurants in our area

Really great food for Montgomery. Not many choices on 105. Try the Lady Gaga! Nice atmosphere. Patio for lake view dining. Only complaint was server behind bar on his phone in front of guest. But don’t let that stop you.

The food is «not bad». The ambiance is nice. Location is great. We just can’t get waited on! It takes so long to get food and drink. We keeping giving it another chance and every time it’s a zen exercise in patience. Final straw is how rude the manager is. She has no idea how to be polite to customers! We will not be back.

Love this place when the owner is in. Seems that when he’s not around service kinda suffers

We ordered the Thai coconut curry and Mongolian Beef on the lunch menu. Really good food. Pleasant experience. Excellent service. Lunch prices were great. We will return, often.

Food tastes great, especially the Thai Coconut Chicken Curry. Their sake bottle prices are reasonable & the lunch special rolls where you get to choose two is a really good deal for $ 10.50! The only negative thing was that our service was not great. Our server was barely at our table & we ordered a lot of food & drinks. He charged us extra for a bowl of soup that was supposed to come with the lunch special rolls & never gave us the salad that came with it as well. It took him forever to refill our waters & the restaurant was not busy when we came in for lunch. He was also very rude when we asked him for the check & to go boxes. He kind of just nodded & rolled his eyes. But the food was great & we would return but would request not to have that server. We spent all in all $ 90 for 6 people all ordering from the lunch menu.

In our little town of Conroe there is little optimism for a great sushi place. But this place delivers. A nice«casual date night» atmosphere, engaging staff, and variety in the menu all make a great experience every time. They won’t short change you on the liquor, but watch out– their cocktails are very sweet. But only one complaint… my fiancé and I went to dinner and presented our licenses because we wanted cocktails, but the waitress and a manager rejected them because my card had a tear in the corner(still intact, just a tear). I know the restaurant policy about what is passable as far as wear and tear on licenses– they apparently didnt. We left to make a point. But we came back. Anyone can make a mistake. All in all a great place for interesting sushi rolls and good quality sashimi.

Great place on the lake. Awesome sushi… this guy knows what he’s doing. Lots of cooked Asian entrees also. Try the coconut curry – with shrimp or chicken… outstanding! One of my new favs

Excellent food and service. Crab Puffs are probably the best I have ever had. Everyone was extremely friendly and appeared to enjoy their jobs.

High expectations based on a friend’s recommendation. Well it is a mixed experience. It starts off poorly with a hostess not equipped for the job. Next the unresponsive bartender. The owner did step in to make sure we got our table. The place does seem a little bi-polar a little bit like a stereotypical chinese restaurant and a little bit chic/upscale sushi bar. Service was an «F» from our personal experience but there appeared to be some good staff. The food 1. Green salad swimming in a pool of dressing — ask for it on the side F 2. Nigiri sushi — huge pieces(maybe too much) A 3. Crazy Roll and Lobster Roll both very good but too heavy on sauce. B overall a 3, it needs to find it’s identity, reorganize and get dirty dish container in kitchen not in dining room, move service bar to end and make more room for bar patrons, move sushi to front of menu and shrink the drink menu so waitstaff knows what it is selling and the bartender can actually make it.

This is my second time here, this time alone. I got to pick my booth and was greeted immediately. My waiter was very attentive even though he was working in the sushi bar section. I tried the lunch sushi which you get to choose two different rolls and then served with miso soup and the house salad for only $ 10.95. Absolutely delicious! The dressing on the salad is the best I’ve ever had! The sushi was fresh and the meat was chilled which I appreciated! No one likes hot raw meat.

We like to eat sushi/sashimi 2x per week. So in our little city you only have one choice on a Monday night. The other two are closed except for Wed-Sat. We tried to get a mayo free Akashi experience again after my wife convinced me to beg them to not use the squeeze bottle of finishing mayo. The good news is the rolls came out right. The bad is the jalapeño yellowtail sashimi appetizer was doused in mayo finishing sauce. We order this all the time and the description says : Yellow Tail Jalapeño. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. 11.50 7 Slices of yellow tail w/jalapeño & served w/Ponzu sauce & herb oil So I did not think to tell them to hold the mayo. I asked the waitress about it and she said it does to come on there, he must have just tossed it on. We went it back and it came back with no ponzu sauce. We told the waitress but we felt sorry for her that she walked straight into the middle of a mayo show down. So we said it is fine. Akashi chef, please please throw away the mayo squeeze bottle. It is the equivalent of making five different dishes and putting truffle oil on all of them. I will probably still be back because we have a 700 dollar a month sashimi habit. God, grant me the serenity to accept the mayo I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference between sauces.

Great lunch prices(most lunch combos include eggroll, rice, and soup for $ 5.95-$ 7.95), great tasting thai coconut curry, and hot and sour soup that was substantial but not too thick. Our fried dishes, however,(general tso’s and sweet and sour pork) were on the chewy side, heavy, and not at all crisp. The waitress recommended the general tso’s, but I would not. That being said, I’d definitely return for a non-fried dish and a great-priced lunch option. 3.5 stars.

This was really above the quality I expected for the price. Our family of 7 just finished our lunch specials, and we all loved it! Even though it was inconvenient, the staff accommodated our family sitting outside. The food was so good that we were all tasting each other’s food and wishing we had big enough stomachs to order more. We had Kung Pao, Mongolian, Beef w/brocc, Shrimp w/lobster sauce, and all the soups(yes, they have Miso, too). Really nice atmosphere, right on Lake Conroe. With the atmosphere and quality, we couldn’t believe how inexpensive the check was. Go! Ask for Anthony — great service.

The food is well priced for what you get and is always fresh. $ 8.00 drinks where you can feel the alcohol is a winner! Cowboy roll is only sushi I’ve had and am not wiling to try anything else bc cowboy roll = awesome! Skip the sesame chicken and ask for them to make it sesame shrimp. Soooooo good. Service could use a little more polish. If that were slightly upgraded I’d make it a 5

We had two of the best sushi rolls we have ever had. The sashimi was good, too. Great ambiance and view of Lake Conroe. Service was exemplary. We will absolutely return!

Great sushi in Montgomery — who would have thought?! I have been waiting for a more upscale restaurant like Akashi to enter the 105 scene for the last several years. It is difficult to find a nicer place to eat in Montgomery, without driving toward the Woodlands. This is especially difficult during the colder months when there aren’t as many weekenders visiting the lake. We ate here for the first time on Jan. 2, 2015 and were told they had been open since October. The restaurant was about ¾ full, with no wait time. The interior décor is nice and modern. The large wrap-around bar is beautiful and the waiters were handsome, too! There is a nice large patio out back facing the water, but it was closed during our visit due to cold weather & rain. The wine and beer menu is pretty good for this area. I had a Napa cab priced at $ 8 and my husband had a Sapporo. They offered plenty of other Chinese, Japanese, Mexican and domestic beers, too. My husband ordered a nigiri box that came with 11 pieces of nigiri and a california roll for $ 15. All pieces were very fresh(salmon, tuna, yellowtail, albacore, octopus, shrimp, eel, smoked salmon, and more). I ordered the soft shell crab salad($ 8.50) and a salmon-avocado roll($ 5.50). The salad was GREAT, though the flavors became a bit redundant after a few bites(fried crab, mayo, iceberg lettuce). This could be improved by adding tomatoes, carrots, avocado, cucumber, etc. As is, the salad would be good to share as an appetizer among 3 – 4 people. The salmon-avocado roll was very fresh and large. It was inside out(rice/paper/rice) which I like versus the standard maki(rice inside, paper outside) and they did not skimp on the salmon + avo. In hindsight I could have been full from just the one roll. Can’t wait to come back during our next visit to the lake!

Still awesome. My wife and I go to this place about 5 Times a week(lunch, dinner, drinks) and it is still very good. On the Chinese menu we tend to love the Shrimp and Lobster Sauce, which reminds me of how it was where I grew up on in Connecticut. The Sushi is good, and they will make it to your specifications. The sake(and I know my sakes) that I get is the chilled, Ginjo. I do not care for most warm/hot sakes. Again, this place is worth a visit…
