I really like this place! If they don’t have what I’m looking for, she orders it for me, or I find something else equally compelling. I’ve purchased a couple of really nice art books, some great mysteries, and one nifty little semi-local cookbook. Also, I don’t have kids, but she has a really cute little kids section. I was thrilled just to find a regular used bookstore in the area. It’s amazing, but I think it’s the only one, unless you count the religious bookstores. I use the library a lot, but if I buy books, I prefer to support local, independent merchants. Amazon will do just fine without me, and I just can’t see the point of supporting bookstores in other states(for the used books on Amazon) when I can be supporting small businesses in my own community. The owner is very nice and personable, and has a great trade back policy. Check it out.

I’m sure I will be a regular at this used bookstore because it on the way back from my Dad’s house and because it is so remote(for me) it has the allure of maybe having just the books I’m looking for. Though the shelves and areas are not labelled, the owner is very nice and knowledgable. It’s big enough to want labelling, but not so big you’ll get lost looking. The young adult selection is good. The picture book selection isn’t.grandiose.bt they do have a display for beginning to read books. Those often get lost in the bookshelves, so it made me happy to see them separate(I’m easy to please when it comes to books=). I was in a hurry, so didn’t browse every area – but will say that the cookbook selection wasn’t good. But, perhaps its the time of year. She has a free shelf where there are actually good books to be had. Why did I just tell you that? !%#! If you are near Conroe or Montgomery, and are addicted to used bookstores, give it a try=)
