Beautification By Alyssa

Alyssa is awesome! She responded to my inquiry on Unilocal quickly and set an appointment for me for next day. I got a root touch, cut and highlights. She did a fabulous job! she really knew how to cut my hair based on texture. Alyssa is also a very nice, genuine person. Made me very comfortable. I will not go anywhere else, she’s great.

Alyssa did an amazing job on my hair! I wanted a lighter color, but since I dyed my hair black before, I have to go in a couple of times to get the color I want. But so far, I’m loving the color on my hair! I’m excited to go back in to get lowlights added in my hair!

I love my hair. My friends and family members have taken my color and style by Alyssa. I have super thick hair I’m growing long again.
Alyssa listens. When I say ¼ inch trim… thats what she does, instead of lopping off a few inches as many stylists do.
Color is what Alyssa does with a genious.

she takes my hair into blonde dimensions. .it is simply beautiful and easy to maintain. Light med. Blonde with dark blond low lights and bright sunny super blonde in all the right places.
In addition, Alyssa did my hair and my wedding party at my home. Nice to pampered like that.

I called to make a next day appointment, and she didn’t answer, but immediately sent me a text. I was able to set up the appointment that way, which I preferred.
When it was time for my appointment, I was 20 minute late, but she still took me as soon as I got there, and was very nice about it.
She’s so sweet and easy to talk to, and I love how she cut my hair. I asked for defined layers and she cut exactly how much I wanted, not like other hairdressers who cut 10 inches off for a «trim.»
If you check in, you get $ 5 off so I ended up paying $ 24 for my cut, including tip!

I have been going to Alyssa for years and I absolutely love the work she does! Highlights, cuts, dyes & styling… she is the best person to go to on the Peninsula! I’d highly recommend her for any occasion… and her prices are great too!
She’s also really friendly and makes sure you leave the Salon happy! She’s very flexible and detail oriented so the finished product always comes out the way you want it! There’s not one thing I’d complain about!

My mother, best friend and I hired Alyssa to join us on location for my wedding in Carmel and she did a wonderful job. She allowed extra time, so none of us felt rushed and she added her own flair to our individual ideas. My updo fell out after dinner, but probably due to the jacket I was taking off and on periodically. Great work!

My daughter’s wedding was in Monterey and I live in Phoenix and needed someone to do my hair for the big day. Obviously, the person my daughter uses was doing her hair, so I had to find someone new. I found Alyssa through Unilocal.What a great find! She did my hair in an «up-​do» It turned out to be a windy day and my hair does not hold well. It stayed great, the style was great and lasted all night long. She was fast, punctual and did a great job. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

If you are looking for someone who can cut your hair for $ 25, you just found her! I found Alyssa, just like everyone else, on Unilocal.I like the cut she gives me, so much that I told nearly all my friends who do not want to pay $ 60 – 70 for a haircut. (Remind you that if you add shampoo and styling and all, maybe it will total up to be as much.) But you see, I can wash my own hair and style it if I wish! I just needed someone to cut it well. Because I was so happy with her, I started taking my 10 year old daughter with me. Alyssa remembers us by name, and we talk so much I feel like I know her family! My daughter looks forward to seeing her and catching up as much as I do. Alyssa is super friendly, unpretentious, and she is great at what she does. I highly recommend her. If you don’t like something, just tell her and she will fix it for you. I truly feel she is so worth it!
I am updating from yesterday (7/19)‘s visit for my touch-​up. I am so happy and impressed what Alyssa has done for me for such a reasonable price. She used lighter brown for covering grey so it look likes natural highlights. She put gloss in my hair so it looks shiny too. I used to pay more than double the price for the same thing elsewhere, and she does better job too. My goodness, I am so happy I found you on Unilocal

Alyssa does beautiful work and is an amazing person. If you’re ever in her area you should defiantly go in and get your hair done by her!

I love Alyssa! I have been seeing her for about 3 years now. I love her as a person and a hair stylist. She is very sweet and always makes a point to make sure you leave happy. She always styles my hair before leaving too (for free) because she just loves what she does.
CUTS:
I started getting bangs in college. While I always loved having bangs, I always dreaded finding a new hairdresser for them (I’ve had horrible experiences in the past). I found Alyssa through a Groupon and am so thankful that I did. Not only can I trust that she will always cut my bangs (and hair) the way I want it, but she will do it exactly the way I want it every time and with ease.
COLOR:
I had only ever had my hair highlighted before coming to Alyssa. I took the color plunge with her a few years ago, and I am so glad I did. I started by doing a temporary color of copper lowlights. Then I went permanent copper. Then a darker, bolder red. I have loved every single color. The color looks great and lasts a good while (she recommends products to help hold the color). While I have gone pretty safe with my color, I have seen her post other work on her Facebook page that is awesome (but I’m too afraid to get). You know those great Pinterest and Instagram posts where people have these beautiful pastel unicorn rainbow multi-​color hair jobs (or however you would describe them)? Yeah, she can do that :)
Since I haven’t had my hair colored by other people, I can’t compare her. But, I can tell you that she takes the time to really match what you are imagining. She’s also sweet enough to walk you through what she is doing if you want to know (so newbies like me can learn while being beautified).
Conclusion:
Alyssa is sweet, affordable, and good at what she does. I am moving at the end of the month, and I am half tempted to make special trips down to continue to see Alyssa (~4 hour drive).

Alyssa is very good at what she does, I am always extremely happy when I leave the salon. I never really quite know what I want but Alyssa is very patient and always has my hair looking amazing, I get compliments all the time. She is very personable and easy to talk to and the system she uses to book and confirm appointments is very convenient. Also her prices are very reasonable, probably the best I’ve found in the area. I look forward to my next appointment and would recommend her to anyone looking for a new stylist.

I love Alyssa.!! I had been looking for someone for years that I could trust to cut my hair and I’ve loved everything she’s done so far:) She is awesome. Looking forward to my first hair coloring with her later this month. And her prices are great for this area and the amount of attention she gives to you and your hair. I’ve always left happy:)

If you want to best of the best this is the direction you want to fo. Hands down, she’s on eof rhe best.

Alyssa did my hair, mom’s and sister’s hair for my April wedding. I was very pleased with my up do and she also made my mom’s hair look great!
I have long stubbornly staight Asian hair. Alyssa put my hair in a side bun. It looked beautiful and stayed up the whole night.
So future brides, have no fear, Alyssa is great!

Alyssa does an amazing job with blonde highlights! They look natural and beautiful. She is flexible with scheduling and even works on Sundays! I highly recommend her for color and cuts! You’ll be impressed.

My experience with Alyssa was average. I hired her for my wedding, we scheduled a trial run and we played with some options. I had to giver her a lot of direction, at one point I was looking a little like snooki.
On the day of my wedding she ended up doing a different style then we had agreed on, a much more simple half up, half down. Basically I could have done it on my self. Her curling technique was poor, and considering we were at the beach I thought she would have better experience in a long lasting curl.
On the plus side she is reasonably priced, and willing to travel.

My review is very similar to Meghan’s.
The first time I went to Alyssa, I received a crappy haircut, but good color. The haircut was not good because I told her that I wanted a trim, but instead she cut off 1 ½−2 inches. This is the shortest my hair has been in 20 years. It is so short that I won’t get my haircut for several months. Moreover, she told me that she did not know what my previous hair person had done, and proceeded to change the hairstyle. The previous hairstyle was wash and go. Now, I actually have to curl or blow dry my hair or pull it back in a bun or pony tail (which is what I do – also because the hair flops in my face).
All that being said, I was very happy with the highlights and lowlights that she had done that time. I went back five weeks later to have it done again. The second time, was a disaster. Most importantly, she did not cover the gray/​white hair that is around my face; this was the whole reason I was getting highlights/​lowlights. It looks really weird and unnatural. Furthermore, she only highlighted my hair, and did not add lowlights. The color of the highlights were ashy, and my natural highlights are in the yellow family. So, needless to say, it does not look natural. When I told her that it did not look nearly as good as last time, she said that she would fix it the next time I came in. Really? Why would I come back?
If you have hair like mine, I would stay away! My hair is very thick, wavy in the back straight in the front, medium length, and light brown with warm highlights.
I feel like I should write something positive; prices are low and it is easy to schedule an appointment.

After reading the reviews, I contacted Alyssa! She was soooo easy to book with and pleasant! I really was sensitive about my hair and didn’t want just anyone to cut it!
Well I am sooooo pleased! Alyssa was great! She knew just what would bring out my natural wave! I am so happy! Also, Alyssa is personable and talented! You can see it ! She’s a great business person and really up and coming in my opinion!

This is long overdue but I wanted to say how happy I was with my experience with Alyssa. Going off only other Unilocal reviews, I left messages for several salons. She was the only one out of 5 hair salons /​hair stylists I contacted that not only called me back to discuss making an appointment, but she also called me back promptly within the same day after I left her a message. A definite A+ for professionalism.
Alyssa was so friendly as well that time just flew by while she was doing my hair. The hair turned out awesome. I didn’t have an exact hairdo I wanted to copy but I explained that I wanted an updo with loose curls and it had to last the day with possible windy conditions because it was an outdoor wedding. I allowed her creative freedom and I think she accomplished exactly what I was looking for. The hair lasted up until the late evening and did not feel heavy with too much product in it. I would definitely go back to her if I ever attend another wedding in Monterey. Thanks so much Alyssa!!!
