Barkalow Chiropractic & Associates

Yesterday I wasn’t able to stand up straight so I sought help from the Barkalow’s practice. I am from out of town so I had’t established any chiropractor relationships in the area so I found my way, through a referral from a local masseuse, to this office. The office manager was kind over the phone and was able to fit me in the same day because Dr. Barkalow generously agreed to rearrange his schedule to see me, hearing my level of discomfort. Most importantly he was a gentle and smart practitioner who explained everything he was doing and fixed the problem in one visit. The whole office impressed me because of their kindness and competence. I am grateful to Dr. Barkalow for his good work!

I have been seeing Dr. Barkalow for 2 years. I have chronic back pain, with a variety of other issues triggered because of it. I am always able to get an appointment that fits within my complicated schedule, and have never had a negative experience with the staff (not sure who the other reviewer is talking about, but I’m 100% positive that employee must not be there any longer). Not to mention, some of the girls that work in the front will even play with my infant son while I get treated! Dr. Barkalow always spends however long it takes to meet my needs each time I’m there. He answers all of my questions, and keeps a great sense of humor throughout. And yes, he is a great chiropractor!

I hate to write bad reviews without even using a service… BUT…I didn’t get more than 20 seconds into a conversation with the woman who answered the phone before I decided that it was probably fair to write a poor review. She might not represent the quality of care of the doctors, but I believe it’s warranted honestly.
I normally go to another Chiropractor who practices ART (Active Release) but he’s currently out of town and I’m in severe pain for something that I know ART can quickly help me with… both Montellese’ practice this technique so I was hoping to see either of them.
Me: «Hi, do either of the Montellese’ have an opening today?»
Her: «Yes, Dr. Christoper Montellese has an 11 o’clock»
Me: «Great, the Chiropractor I normally go to is out of town and I would like to see someone»
Her (rudely): «Oh, you’re a new patient. You need to have said that… it’s not that easy…» — I’d like to point out that I told her in the previous sentence that I’m a new patient, her rude retort that I need to have said that, which is exactly what I did, was pointless and incorrect besides being plain old bitchy.
Me: «Okay, thanks for nothing» *click*

There’s really nothing more wonderful than having a conversation with a rude secretary when you’re in pain.
