Been coming to Tokyo bowl for years, love the combination beef and chicken plate. Great food, with great favor!

The beef was insipid, nothing but water and soysauce. Even the tea was terrible, when I asked my hot tea to be exchanged or at least to give me a slice of lemon to give it some flavor, the cashier got really rude telling me «what you want? This Chinese tea, no have any lemon. What you want ? Chinese people running /trying to run a Japanese food restaurant… Classic… I’m never eating here again

Clean your bathrooms please! The food tastes great but I need to eat in a clean environment. The beef is better than Yoshinoya so I will try this again… just not so soon.

Not bad but nothing special. Not the cleanest but not the dirtiest. Big portion for the regular sized plates. Thai iced tea and iced coffee both very sweet. Overall very forgetable.

The rice and the veggies were OK. the beef with mushrooms was OK. the chicken that I thought was grilled was actually fried chicken was not so great. I’ve been living in Monterey Park since I was a kid. first time coming here, and it’ll be the last time coming here. 3 stars because 3 out of the 4 items were okay.

this place advertise you get a free soda when you order a large bowl but they do not honor their word. they did not give me a free soda when i asked for it. they said it was not charge for a soda and made me pay for it separately

I remember a chicken bowl place at this plaza in Monterey Park. I wanted to get something quick after my workout and picked up my dinner from Tokyo Beef Bowl. Beef and chicken combo($ 7.79): mixed with veggies and mushroom, the beef was chewy. The chicken was slightly better than the beef because of its crispy skin. It almost tasted like roast pork skin. Too bad the chicken was super bland like the chewy beef. 2 stars! Tokyo Beef Bowl is not yummylicious!

You know, I was a bit nervous trying this little«hole in the wall» Japanese place, but wanting to get away from all the other mainstream choices, I figured it’d fit the bill nicely. Tokyo Beef Bowl makes sure you know that outward appearances can be deceiving, as their food offerings surprisingly didn’t disappoint this newcomer. The prices are right for the amount of food that you get. For this visit, I tried out the beef and shrimp plate. Usually with places like this, that shaved beef stuff never sets well with me, but this time, it wasn’t as offensive as I typically feel it is as it actually had good flavor. The shrimp was pretty standard, nothing too special. Would I do it again? Sure. Just get past the bland décor and all is well!

I love their beef teriyaki bowl! It’s delicious and very filling, plus the prices are very reasonable. Forget about the décor, it’s the food that always brings me back. The beef is always moist and doesn’t have any fat stuck on them, coupled with the mushrooms and sauce-it’s really worth the trip :)

I love this place I never got enough of it, but today i went to get something to eat and I as I was eating I saw a roach crawling on the floor. How do the have an A with roaches? No idea. Disgusting. Ruined my dinner, plus the chicken is always to dry.

Really like this place, it’s one of those«Hole in the wall» kind of places but it is really great food at great portions I hardly ever finish it and always have some for later. This is also one of the few places I love the Horchata at which is funny to me for it being a Japanese food place but trust me it’s great. I always get 21c(look at their menu inside) with Chicken. I’m not sure why some people seem to think the chicken tastes old. It DOES have a unique flavor to it but it isn’t old. They are constantly cooking chicken there so I doubt they would be able to have chicken that long. Their beef plate is also really delicious. And I plan on trying everything on their menu. This should be your go to place for Asian fast food. :)

Pollo loco was too packed for me to get something in my 30 minute lunch, so I decide to give this place a chance and it was DISGUSTING! The chicken tasted old. I threw away the whole plate after spending $ 10. Now I’ll be at work grumpy and hungry.

Another hole in the wall that I can not and will not ever get enough of… To me this doesn’t get any better. I can even ignore the price that’s crept up slightly over the years but there is something about the crispy skin on the chicken mixed with the teriyaki«juice» and the rice that to me can’t get any better. I have tried some of their other stuff but the chicken to me is what makes this place unique and above to rest in that regard. It’s a guilty pleasure to have food places like this. And while some may look at the decour and scoff or the prices and go meh. To me it takes the cake and all you need to do is come with a empty stomach and an open mind to become a fan !!

Bare bones place. Get the shrimp tempura and egg roll with steamed rice. It’s simple but delicious. The shrimp tempura batter is crispy and the shrimp is juicy, light and sweet. Complimentary iced water and a nice cashier.

The location is kinda shady, with lots of traffic and close to the freeway, but the food was pretty good. We got the chicken and beef bowls. The veggies in it weren’t the cheap stuff you get from Flame Broiler/Yoshinoya, but it was the better quality ones. The chicken was roasted, with a super crispy skin, and the beef had amazing flavor and texture. Would I go again? Perhaps if I’m in the area and don’t feel like eating Thai House or Cook’s Tortas(other favorites), so yep, maybe I will!
