Rainbow Art is great! I am a former student who used to go there, and my parents loved the price. Rainbow Art really helped me with my technique in art. In my high school art class, I am considered one of the ones with the best technique. Even if there are new media I have never used before, I’ve picked them up really fast, and I attribute that to the training at rainbow art. The techniques I’ve picked up at Rainbow Art helped me get a 5 in my AP Art score! If there are ever any problems, the director Susanne really knows how to handle situations. Thanks Teacher Susanne! :)

My daughter, age 8, has been at Rainbow Art for almost 5 years now. She started when she was about 3.5 years old. She likes it so much. She has opportunity to learn different skills, like sketching, water color, acrylic, etc. She also learns color coordination, shadows, etc. Ms. Suzanne, the principle of the school, is very friendly and hands-on. She would tell me my daughter’s progress, what needs to be improved or focused, what achievement she meets, etc.

My son is currently attending this school for art. His instructor is a nice guy who graduated from and is also teaching at Art Center College of Design. His instructor, a gentleman he calls«Mr. Tom,» is really great. They have classes seven days a week from mornings till evenings. Each time block is for an hour and a half of instruction. You pick one time block and attend class once a week. If you miss it one month, you can make it up wherever they have a spot open. The spots fill up pretty quickly it seems. By the time I signed my son up, almost all the preferred days/times were taken. There’s a one-time registration fee of(I forget the exact amount) $ 25.00, I think. There is no materials fee if you have art supplies already. Even if you do, depending on your instructor and what mediums he/she wants to teach you, you may or may not have to buy addition materials. You can get that through the school itself or purchase it on your own. You sign up by quarters. It’s every 3 months. Right now, my son is taking their«beginner classes,» so it’s more affordable. It’s $ 300.00 per quarter for the beginners, basically $ 100.00/month(or $ 25.00 per 1−½ hour class) @ 4 classes per month. I think that’s okay. It’s not a bad price for the quality of instruction I feel that my son is getting. I signed him up because he’s always loved art and had been bugging me about classes. After this quarter is up, we’re not«renewing» because he just doesn’t want to do it anymore. I’m glad that we got to try it and that he had this experience.

My daughter attended Rainbow Art for about a year. She was 6 – 7 years at time. Most of the work consist of crayon, color pencils, pastels, outlining, and a little water coloring. By about 6 – 8 months into the class, the teacher told me about the individual class for advancing my daughter but the cost was much higher than the regular cost. After a year of going there and doing the same thing, my daughter stop going because I didn’t see any growth at all. And I didn’t feel that the price of the individual class was worth it. I would recommend it as a «first-time» art class but unless you are willing to invest more $$$ into individual classes, then you probably don’t want to enroll for more than 6 months time.
