Awesome hard shell shredded beef tacos. Tasty chorizo and egg burritos. Green salsa good as well. Salsa bar

It’s alright. Small place, decent prices, decent food. Will probably come back when I get a hankering for a fish taco, but I prefer some places in East LA over this. Worth a try.

My favorite lunch place ever… in Monterey Park. Great tacos dorados n taquitos n Chile Verde Burrito. Very busy during lunch yet food is ready in 5 to 8 mins. Parking is a lil tight but worth it. Love this place. I come here at least 2x week. Great customer service even thru rush hour madness!

I love this little place ! So i eat here often. I just started eating the Chicken Tostada and its my new favorite. They also make excellent fish tacos and good taquitos. The carne asada burrito is also really good. The service is always friendly and the prices are very reasonable.

Very great place to enjoy a authentic Mexican meal. My grandpa use to bring my dad here when he was a kid, and my dad has brought us here still until this day. The owners Always make it a point to make sure their customers are taken care of and happy. We drive from Whittier to Monterey Park to come eat here.

I grew up coming to this place. This is my go-to when I want good Mexican food quick. This place is small but pretty convenient. Not to mention the workers are always nice. I usually order cheese enchiladas and carnitas tacos… and extra tacos for the next day.

Live roaches! So grossed out! Hubby went to toss empty food trays in the indoor trash chute under the order counter. A loose tile fell off exposing half dozen adult size roaches! Wish this happened before we ate! This really upsets me because they have an A grade… and the tacos taste good. AND I ate them!

Okay, things you need to know. Cash only. The picture of the menu here on Unilocal is old, so add a $ 1.00 to everything. BUT still a great deal for good solid food. Plus the name of the place is funny… too bad they don’t sell bagels and lox; but you can get regular burger type fare along with your Mexican food. Also this place has been around since forever, so that’s saying something. PROS: Hard-shelled taco combo, yay, not greasy; taquitos combo nom nom nom, not greasy… the rice fluffy n light; and the refried beans authentic with great appropriate consistency. Plenty of parking in adjacent lot or on street. Friendly service, and fast. Phone it in and take it to go… as the seating is alfresco and they face a busy major thoroughfare. CONS: Avocado sauce, not real avocado. Next time, hold the goopy guac sauce. Have the real deal at home. Also do your own salsa as the salsa at the limited«salsa bar» is kinda runny, not chunky. The salsa bar consisted of thick cuts of radish, large peppers, plenty of lime wedges, and two temperatures and colors of salsa.(Green mild; brownish hot). Busy at lunchtime, but at 11:30 am no problemmo. OVERALL: Great place to get your fix.

We went on a very hot day(huge mistake). The tables were dirty outside and if you considered sitting inside you will die from how hot it was. The burrito was good. I’d go back for a cheap burrito. My husband didn’t like his burrito. He said it was dry and didn’t have good flavor! I just didn’t like sitting outside in a scorching hot sun! I would of rather go to a place with air conditioning.

Try the green chili burrito. Best one out there. Taquitos are always a must. Friendly team. Fresh cooked food. You won’t be disappointed.

I would definitely come back for their tacos, the meat is tender and delicious, especially the asada and then I was pleasantly surprised at the crispy yet chewy carnitas. They put plenty of cilantro and grilled onion too, yum. Get their tacos! The cheese enchiladas weren’t the best I’ve tasted, way too much yellow cheese on top, I personally think. It was an odd mix of enchilada sauce too, or I think that was just my brother’s fault, for adding different sauces and swirling it around with the cheese… bad combo. The soda options were kinda limited, which were available from the dispensers next to the cashier for refills: minute maid lemonade, powerade, Hi-C fruit punch, etc. but you can grab the water cups they have available and be like me and squeeze several limes into the water for extra detox :) There’s lime, sliced radish, tomato-onion-cilantro salsa, green salsa, and bean salsa available on the side too, I helped myself to plenty of each to complement my tacos. 2 filled me up easily, and I was very satisfied with the experience. The asada and carnita tacos were $ 1.65 each while fish were like $ 1.85 and shrimp $ 2.65 i believe. They have an extensive menu, including hamburgers/cheeseburgers, burritos, breakfast burritos, etc. There’s a lot to choose from, so your tummy and taste buds can’t get disappointed. A great small family business I like to support :)

What happen to the previous listing here on Unilocal?I was sure this place was on here since it bills itself as the oldest Mexican restaurant in Monterey park. I guess it got delisted for some reason. Any way if you want very good, fast, cheap Mexican eats then this is the place. It’s a hole in the wall. Only a few counter top seating inside beside the ordering counter and kitchen. A few small table on the sidewalk outside. So don’t dress all up to come here. Lots of repeated locals and working guys go to place. Check out the picture of the bomb squad eating here. Small shared parking with a few other businesses. Street parking is adequate if need be. IMHO they have the best taquito in town. Slightly crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, meat is tender and not all dried up like jerky. The taco is also very good. Not authentic since they put lettuce and such on it. So consider it a gringo taco. Very good none the less. The salsa bar is limited but has very good kick and flavor. Try it. It might become your fav.

Very authenticate Mexican food. Portions are large and filling with great prices. The staff is friendly. I am so glad I found this place randomly searching on Unilocal for Mexican food! It’s better to take the food to go cause the place is small and it gets packed. Parking on the street behind is much easier.

Small spot but big flavor. Don’t judge it by its exterior. The taquitos were filled to the ends and had a nice crunch. Very friendly staff, the lady even offered us samples of their green and red chile and it was so good! The hard tacos were amazing and reminded me of cabo, definite go to spot when I’m craving Mexican food. They cater too! Small parking lot so drive up slow.

Carne aside quesadilla is delish. They use cheddar cheese in it instead of white cheese. Salsa: Great green and red sauce. Not spicy but flavorful Pico do gallo in the quesadillas, yum! Parking behind the building or on Atlantic Greasy but will be back!

In this amazing little stand you’ll find great Mexican food and a friendly staff. Family owned for at least 2 generations that I know of. I’ve been coming here for years and love the food here. I usually get the #9 combo, hard taco, taquitos and a coke for around $ 7. BESTHARDTACOSEVER!!! Unfortunately I couldn’t order that today since I just had dental surgery 2 days ago. So I decided to order the #1 combo which is 2 enchiladas(I chose beef that’s shredded, tender and lean) and double rice in lieu of beans. I love the rice, it’s so fluffy and tasty. A lot of food and so good! I’ve also had the carnitas burrito, carne asada burrito and the carnitas sopes. All very good. The carnitas are lean and tasty. Sometimes I just can’t decide :) There’s also a small salsa bar that you can help yourself to radishes, limes, and various degrees of salsa. The only problem is that it’s tucked inside the corner along with the soda fountain and condiments and it can get pretty crowded there during the lunch rush. When the line is out the door. There’s bar like seating inside and tables and chairs outside. Small and weird parking lot with a steep slope. Be careful of pedestrians when exiting the parking lot as there’s a wall that causes a blind spot. Oh yeah, it’s CASHONLY!

Enchiladas — very basic. Sauce with soft enchilada. I wish there was more cheese or at least topped with some cotinga cheese. It would have been better. Chips w/guac & Cheese — the chips were pretty light and crispy. The cheese is shredded american with homemade guacamole. I would say the texture of the guacamole was more of a watery consistency. It wasn’t fulling enough for me. Overall. Maybe next time I will try the burritos since they say that’s better.

Cash ONLY! This is a typical Mexican restaurant that serves tacos, burritos, tortas, and burgers as well. Located on the corner of Cadiz and Atlantic Blvd, this restaurant stands isolated from any other restaurants, aside from Domino’s across the street. This is such a small place but it has plenty of tables and chairs outside. I was surprised by the amount of people that come here for lunch. After giving this place a try, I can definitely see why. As always, my Bf who’s an absolute burger lover ordered the cheeseburgers which came out quite big for being under $ 3! He liked how the burger was not dripping with sauce and the bun was not soaked even at the very last bite, as seen with other burgers from elsewhere. He told me it was a pretty good burger, but then again, he also stated that there’s really no way one can make a bad burger. For myself, I ordered the Grilled chicken salad which was already pre-mixed with a delicious buttermilk chipotle dressing, topped with avocado, tomatoes and crispy fried tortilla strip chips. It was one of the best salads I have every tried. It was super flavorful, light, and delicious. I did not feel guilty indulging it at all.
