first of all the office is small and smelly. the staff was nice but the doctor is giving me no helpful advise at all. i visited him because my 3 weeks old son would not sleep for 7 consecutive hours and he doesn’t want to take any milk. i paid $ 85 for the visit and i was hoping to get professional advise. however, all he is telling me how he guess the problem would be and told me to take my son to the freeway and said that will help him calm down when he’s not. he keep saying it should be this it should be that. but can’t tell us exactly how to help the baby. waste of time and waste of money.

Dr. Chen will hook your kid up with all the medicine you want and need. My son had the worse case of the flu, and Dr. Chen prescribe him Tamiflu to tackle the flu virus, cough syrup to tackle the coughing, celopytake to take on the sore throat, and something else for the running nose, that’s 4 medications in one trip. On the previous visit, my son had a throat infection, and Dr. Chen prescribed antibotics and cough syrup. What a reverse of fate for someone coming from Dr. Kenneth Huang(see my review for him), who believe that kids should not be overmedicated. Dr. Chen is a elderly gentlemen in his late sixties, and looks to been practicing medicine for a long time, so I do not question his diagnosis at all. I think he’s from a different school, like in asia where people don’t feel so adverse to medication and welcome it. His office is small and busy, kinda disorganized at times, but once you do have the doctor’s attention, he is quite pragmatic and ask a lot of questions. But the doctor never really closes the door, so you could hear the hustle and bustle of the people outside waiting, and to me it’s really unsettling. I guess I will keep searching, for now I’ll stick with Dr. Chen for those emergencies, because although I don’t like to overmedicate my kid, the medication does speed up the recovery time, and the poor boy doesn’t have to suffer as long.

Dr. Charles Chen has been my doctor since I was a little youngin. Located in Monterey Park he and his secretary speak Mandarin and Cantonese. The main thing they do at this office is help give children their needed shots to enter school. I needed a few updated shots for the hospital so I decided to go back to my old Doctor. This place is a very small office on the third floor. Pretty cute and I’m sure kids don ‘t really know what is about to happen to them. There are little chairs and tables for kids and also a few magazines for the parents. If you need to get your shots or your child does this is the place to go. They will help you get into special programs for your children under the age of 18 and then it won’t cost as much. As for me my shots were expensive and it is ok I did look around and honestly this is the cheapest place. They didn’t charge me extra for the doctor visit which was nice because most of the places that were located near my area, wanted to charge me $ 80.00 for just seeing the doctor and not including the shots! P. S.- Make an appointment because sometimes they are not in the office all the time.
