I may be slightly biased, as I’ve only ever gotten my hair cut but Julie Nakagawa before. My family and I have gone here for as long as I can remember. She’s literally the ONLY one I trust with my hair because I know that I“ll be happy.
An family friend, Julie is very nice and easy to talk to, yet very thorough and skilled. She asks me for exactly what I want every time. I know that she’s not just giving me extra special treatment since I’ve been going so long because I’ve seen her treat everyone the same way.
My family and I drive almost an hour every couple of months to get Julie to cut our hair.

I’m surprised nobody else has reviewed this place, but I guess it is hidden in the middle of nondescript strip mall (if you can even call it a strip mall.) So, both the hairdressers here are named Julie, but I go to the shorter Julie (I think it’s Julie N) and I’ve been going to her for the past 7 years. Despite my many visits I always forget to ask for her entire last name, but, she is the best! She likes it more when I have pictures to show her, but even when I don’t have one, she does a good job giving me the haircut I ask for.
The big plus to going here is that my hair always grows out well, and I owe it all to her skills. She knows how to cut my hair in a way that allows me to go without a trim for quite some time. I probably haven’t been there in 8 months, but I’ve been thinking of going back soon since my hair is pretty long.
She cuts the hair of everyone from kids to grandparents, male to female. She’s Japanese American so I’m assuming she specializes in Asian hair, but don’t quote me on that. I’ve heard that she’s also great with highlights and other color treatments. If I ever feel like deviating from my natural color I will definitely trust her with my hair!
